Discussion: Best Sci-fi/Superhero MMO of 2009 Reader's Choice Awards: City of Heroes/Villains
That is awesome and it is no surprise CoX beat out CO with CO's many perplexing missteps and failure to apply lessons learned from this game's development.
And how the heck did DDO do so well in the contest? That game is failure on toast. |
Anyway, go City of Heroes! Yay!
Awesome, way to go!
The reason why I still stick with CoX is for two main reasons: The Mission Architect System and Power Customizations(i.e. tintable colors).
Mission Architect was not something anyone dreamed of or anticipated and the City of... team delivered an amazing golden nugget of a surprise.
More importantly, Power Customization was something we were told for years was far off, almost never, possibility - yet - they delivered and I am still finding myself playing this game for going on 6 years now.
Tried UO, left it. Tried WoW, let it. Tried Anarchy Online, left it. Tried Farmville, left it.
Still with my City of...
awesome!
Awesome! Nice job Paragon Studios! I knew this game was the best, but recognition's always good.

Not only did CoX win the best sci-fi/superhero MMO category, but was also mentioned in the readout for Best MMO of 2009, and I quote...
"as you can see by the chart, Dungeons & Dragons Online, Wizard101, Aion, and City of Heroes/Villains each took a solid chunk of the votes."
Congrats and great job!
Woo hoo! Go go Paragon Studios!

Heh, so when CO was asked "got game?" the answer was obviously a resounding "Uhh... what?"
Congratulations, Paragon!
Where to find me after the end:
The Secret World - Arcadia - Shinzo
Rift - Faeblight - Bloodspeaker
LotRO - Gladden - Aranelion
STO - Holodeck - @Captain_Thiraas
Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.
This was probably the closest race overall in this year’s awards, with five games expertly splitting the votes between them. World of Warcraft won by a mere 68 votes, and, as you can see by the chart, Dungeons & Dragons Online, Wizard101, Aion, and City of Heroes/Villains each took a solid chunk of the votes. |

I'm totally confused. Judging from all the pre-release Champions hype I'm certain that City of Heroes/Villains has been completely abandoned and that Champions has been so dominant that it's even challenging the World of Warcraft juggernaut. But Champions not even making the top 3? That cannot possibly be right.
(My apologies if some of the sarcasm dripped off the screen and onto your keyboard.) |
Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.

Congratulations all around to everyone behind the scenes. You're the reason I'm still here after 63 months (and counting)!

Amazin job folks -- I am glad that I have been on board for over 5 years. Here's to 5 more years.

Well done CoH gang.
Deserved.
A guy at Nintendo said years ago that graphics are great, but if the game ain't fun, it ain't fun. I think that, the loads of new features that keep rolling out and the awesome community make this game an island, and the winner. The fact that Champions is so frickin' irritating to play helps too I'm sure. Kept me here since July of 2005 and I'm not goin' anywheres.
Gratz again, keep up the great work!

Gratz to NCsoft for grabbing two of the top spots, for CoH and Aion.
I'd love to see this supposed chart as well, to see how close several other games came to toppling the 800lb gorilla.
I'll save the congratulations for when CoH actually earns this award come 2011.
Did someone level? Grats! Keep up the great work you silly bastards.

Grats to City of Heroes! Still a winner after 6 years of kickin' *** and takin' names.
Also grats to Aion, keep up the good work NCSoft.
*thumbsup*
Keep up the stellar work, Paragon Studios.
