Your Double XP weekend stories

Over all my 2xp weekend was good, but I did get invited to an AE missions. The leader was kind enough to send a tell first and not just blind invite. Needless to say we wiped several times on each group we pulled. I stuck around till the team finally broke up, I'm just glad that there is no debt for dying in AE missions.

The best part about it is the leader was an MM and always wanted to pull the mobs. Well, he didn't control his pets so when he try to pull (on all of his pulls) his pets go running in aggro other groups and lead to a wipe. I just thought it funny that he was in the 40's and still hasn't learn how to pull with a MM.

I have gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, Keep me here!

I think this was the worst (for me) of all the double-XP weekends. Not enough high level teams. My 2 goals were to

1) get my MM to 50 from 43, making him my first red-side 50. I know that soon you'll unlock epic at's at 20 (or something like that) but I want to do it, you know, old school.

2) get any other character in the 40's to 50 and move them off virtue. I'd gotten 7 off the server already during the time that the transfers were free. 4 were already 50, leveld up 3 more. Once they extended it again, I had 2 possibles a eng/eng blaster sitting at 44 and an elec/elec blaster ar 42.

Couldn't find any consistant redside teams, 1-2 mishes, long stretches no teams at all, so I gave up on that, I did get the elec/elec blaster to 50 by sunday night, just before I had to log for bed and got him transfered so I did accomplish 1 of my goals.

I think that the problem was introducing new powersets along with the 2xp, everyone (myself included, for a bit) was pretty focused on playing the new powersets and, I at least, didn't find too many higher level teams playing at all.

I give this 2xp weekend a C-

Despite a lot of real-life interruptions, I pushed my new Scrapper from 7 to 22 running real contact missions with friends and some random people we picked up (who weren't too bad, actually). I like to do the regular contact mishes during double exp so that at least some of the contacts have a history with me and will sell inspirations if I'm in their zone later on. 22 is a good level to reach.

Another Scrapper went form 26 to 27. Insignificant leveling, but it did enable me to slot up Soul Drain and experience that for the first time -- very nice.

A DP/Dev Blaster from 1-32 without going anywhere near any of the AE buildings. That made me a happy player.

Got two alts I had been considering making but kept being too lazy to bother making to 20 for Stamina. Happy enough.

Was nice to see freedom and virtue yellow dot, but that's probably more due to reactivation weekends that always come with double xp more than anything. Know at least a few people who only come out to play CoX when it's free.

We left it until all the hordelings were cleared and we were about to click the last altar and summon Bat'Zul before we kicked him. I think that was quite fair tbh.
I personally think that was quite d**kish, if only because I can relate as a dog-owner myself.

Him being an idiot aside, how long did you wait for him to return? Even a short walk can take up to 15 minutes, and that's talking a VERY short walk, and from my experience clearing that last map doesn't usually take longer than 10 to 15 minutes, either.

Oh sure, it's possible he was just lying so he can get the XP and merits, but not wanting your carpet to smell of dog urine is a rather plausible reason.

And frankly, kicking someone moments before an SF is complete is just a knee-jerk reaction.

Over all it was good for me....didn't get to play much on Friday because of car issues that needed to be taken care of. Now on Sunday my BF and I with another friend ran Posi for the first time, which I found to be pretty interesting. My BF was the mission holder and we were at a point when he had to run a fed-ex and I needed to get inspirs. So I hopped over to the AE building in Sky and while inside I hear this woohoo sound. I look around and at the window what do I see but a bunch of ghosts trying to get into the building to get at me. I run up and down the windows to my delight they kept following me. I then came up with this:

A new radio mission:
Attention all Heroes...AE building under attack by Spectral Follower's. Hero trapped inside...News at 10.

No DOOM today, DOOM tomorrow. There's always a DOOM tomorrow.
Global: @Kiriko-chan Test: Myskatz Kittens Beta Test: @Plantrezz
Arcs: 5318 ROUS (just a little beat 'em up)

I think I might actually have played my rear off. Literally, I have little rear left from all the leveling and killing bad guys.

I was really all over the place. Marketed for about 100 million worth of salvage, IO’s my potential field crafter made and generally passed it around to my friends and any toon that acted like the needed it.

Did a sewer run with my DP/EM toon who is the ghost of an 18th century English highway man who uses duel flintlocks called Ye Olde Highwayman. Got him to level 12 on Friday and level 14 on Saturday. I did a sewer run all the way from Atlas to Steel Canyon. Great fun!

Played on about 4 different PUG’s and only one was bad. The rest were fine and a lot of fun. Despite being told by many that I wouldn’t find or be I would be kicked because I was playing a AR/DEV I got him 2 levels no problem.

My best story was Arius the Red-Handed who I really wasn’t planning on playing at all. I was doing a little base work and I get invited to a RMS raid. I needed the exploration badge for teleport beacon and so I did it and it was a lot of fun and there was 18 heroes and villains beating on the Rikti. It was my first RMS raid and we got all the way through it and no team wipes. Then about 4 hours before Double XP ended I decided to see if I could get him to 50. So I soloed the Welcome to Vanguard arc and there you go. He’s my first 50 and so my weekend was huge success.

While not all levels are created equal, I got a total of 45 levels on 10 toons and I really enjoyed myself. Plus all this was on a server (Liberty) that has been described as dead. My only problem with content was doing the faultline arcs about three times this weekend.

Not a rant about the game itself, but anything that's as repetetive as CoX content is will get stale and boring after 5 years.

I had a similar experience.

Been loggin in lately and realizing I dont really want to do anything in game, so i scroll through my toons and switch up day job locations and thats about it.

Decided its time for a short break until GR, since theres really nothing new going on this issue, since DP preorder did not interest me.

The last couple months have been me paying so i can troll the forums... probably not the best money spent.

So in total during Double XP i got one level from 18-19 on a new scrapper from running one mission with double xp/full patrol xp. Not exactly blazing a trail of glory through the game nowdays...

So I am going to let this sub run out, and re sub in a couple months when GR releases.

See you then. Please keep the place clean and feed the fish while Im away.

I did a 6-hour Dr. Q TF that then had an extra 3 hours of waiting for a GM to fix a bug.

I had a fun ITF on a different character after that, though.

This was also the first (or maybe second?) Double XP Weekend with Super sidekicking. Why didn't you grab one of those high level toons and join a lowbie team?
