Mentor Project

This sounds like a pretty sweet project. I am new to the game and have felt a little overwhelmed the last few days trying to figure everything out. I have been reading Paragon Wiki everyday and it has been helping me grasp the bigger picture (I think lol) I will join the chat channel as soon as I log on tonight. Thx for the info

Mentor Project Signs up 100th Mentor

As I looked into my GMail account today I noticed we had another registration, and when the spreadsheet opened before me I realized that Tog was our 100th officially registered volunteer mentor.

Folks, I can't begin to express how proud I am to see players of all ages and experience offer up their skills, knowledge and time for the benefit of other players.

This may have been a grassroots movement, but it has grown by leaps and bounds ever since the idea was introduced to the CoX community.

Well done folks.

I run the Retrospective SG on Virtue and we have a decent core group of experienced players. we also have an age restriction of 18+. all that being said if any of your mentors have a neophyte looking to join an SG and they fit with in the age category i am more than happy to take them and help mentor them as would my officers. i personally would volunteer to be a mentor but i have had bad experiences with the under 18 crowd so i don't think i should be a mentor with you guys but i will offer our services for any neophytes mentored by you guys. Again they must be at least 18 since discussions in SG and ventrilo chat get more than a little NC17. I am also willing to Coalition with any current Mentor SG on Virtue. There are others who have joined the N P C channel as well, but since we don't have an official record for them it's much harder to keep track of them. Still, I offer them a heartfelt "thank you" for considering investing of themselves into MP.

hello im brand new to this game, and started it alone. ive managed to get a hero to level 8 so far, and im on the pinacle server (chose it at random lol) there really doesnt seem to be anyone around on pinnacle. i was wondering if i could get a mentor or if theres a more populated server i can join with people to talk to. its kind of boring playing alone. =(

I may see about organizing some arc runs/tfs for neophytes on Freedom soon. I'll start looking into it.

This is a wonderful idea! I play on multiple servers and try to lend a hand with any questions that come up in broadcast. And there are quite a few now with GoRo releasing! I just signed up to mentor. It's very random what server I'm on each day, but my normal haunts are Liberty, Pinnacle, Champion, and Triumph.

It is with great pleasure that we are announcing a special partnership between Paragon Wiki and the Mentor Project.

This partnership stems from seeing both groups of players have similar goals: to assist and help out other players, and to enable them to have readily available information when and where they need it.

Paragon Wiki needs no introduction as one of the most visited sources of information concerning the City of franchise, and is an integral part of the Titan Network. This player-led encyclopedia is supported by a dedicated team of individuals who are committed to getting all the facts, and getting them straight.

The Mentor Project came into existence earlier this year as an offshoot of a new player welcoming event. It is a relatively new undertaking, yet it has already demonstrated its usefulness by offering in-game assistance and personal tutoring for new or returning players on all servers.

Given that the Mentor Project caters specifically to a demographic that Paragon Wiki can also assist, we are converging our efforts and the Mentor Project will now offer maintenance and support for Paragon Wiki’s Players Guide to the Cities.

We take this opportunity to thank each and every single player who volunteers his (or her) time to improve someone else’s enjoyment of City of Heroes, City of Villains and Going Rogue. Our gaming community is a much more friendly place with your efforts, and for that we are all very grateful.
