Admit it, that was a tacit application on your part to join in, Brigg. 
I've updated the roster for the registered mentors. We're just shy of 160 registrations now. True, some of these players no longer play, but the idea lives on.
We're still active, still recommending that mentors add the "N P C" channel to their tab to keep track of needs on the servers. I know many are using the Help channels on whatever server(s) they are active.
As for the advent of the F2P players and the new challenges this poses, we're adapting, trying to find the best way to reach these players and make ourselves available. If you have suggestions, we're all ears.

I'm around... I left for a bit, but I am back... rejoined the N P C channel and am actively helping folks on Liberty and Freedom. No longer @Pigtails (thank gods), I am @Tax E. 
A few of the Liberty folk on the roster are not as active if not gone, but we live!!!

Now that the game has brought changes which make it difficult to justify its existence, I will be abandoning the Mentor Project.
The idea worked well before the Help channel was introduced, and before the game was opened up to free players, but the attention it would require to make it compete with an already working ingame system isn't worth it, IMHO.
If someone else would like to pick it up and try their hand at it, please let me know and we'll work out how best to do this.
Thanks to everyone who partook in this project with me, seeing the need for a more practical, personal approach to helping the new players.
It's because of players like you that this game stands out in the MMO worlds.

I"m so glad I came across this thread! I would love to have a knowledgeable player to help me get on my feet in this game. I've really just been clicking random buttons on pretty much every thing. Tried to join the channel that's in the first post but I couldn't make it work. :/
Hi, I just joined the server Pinnacle, its a very nice server, i still have alot to relearn o the game since i last played was in 2004, but more i play more im remembering, the only ting i need biw s to find a supergroup(guild) to call home and a mentor be nice when i have questions, my handle is @Krysila i will be logged into PinnBadges channel everday if need to get hold of me, ty

Have you found someone to help you with stuff?
Also, have you managed to join the channel? You have to be "Tier 3" in the Paragon Rewards system to be able to join global channels. Full details can be found on this page on ParagonWiki. It's a tremendous resource.
I would have just sent you a private message here but, if I recall correctly, Premium players can't sent PM's so you would not be able to reply.
