  1. Join us on www.theswitchradio.com tonight! Jump into Live Chat! It's an old school chat room where you type rather than speak. Webcams are optional! Tonight's drink for mixology is Sex on the Beach.
  2. Got my pix ready, Layla! How much you charging? How can I put my order in? I realize you might be a little backed up right now, but it's worth the wait!

  3. I've been on several servers over the past few years, but Protector has always been home. I spent the first 4 years here. So I'm here to start off the farewell for this thread.

But before I get too far into it, I would like to invite you all to www.theswitchradio.com. This has been a great way for us CoHers to keep in touch. You can start with Friday night at 9PM PST, The Cherry Show. A very large group of us CoHers are in Live chat and on webcam(optional). We do a mixology segment during the show where we mix a preselected drink on webcam and get hammered. It's a lot of fun!

On Saturday night, 9PM PST, and on Sunday, 3PM PST, fellow Protectorite, Rastafarian (AKA Rasta) hosts his online radio shows.

There are lots of shows to check out. The Hawk Block, Marvelous Dazz. But if you're looking for a place to stay in touch, check these shows out. If you have webcams, jump on with us! But be warned. It is very adult themed. ;P

    Now to my farewell.

I've met so many friends from Protector. People who are real life friends now. I've travelled the country and have had adventures because of these new friends. I've seen, experienced, and been a part of more drama than I care to admit LOL, but I still enjoy those memories. Most of these people may never see this thread, but I still need to get it off my chest to find some amount of closure.

To Nova: you were a good kid. I wish I had taken the time to remember that you were so young, just 18. I probably would have given you an easier time. But you chose to co-found Midnight Elite with me, so I held you to a certain level of accountibility. Hope you're doing well.

Android Warrior: SNOOPIES! my friend! You brought a tale of a drama to my world that I still enjoy telling to this day. Talk about "The Crying Game." I've never had a truth make my jaw drop so far. It was entertaining to say the least. If you still talk to Healing Hands, tell him (her) that I said hi, and farewell.

Myst: Thank you for your support. I was so happy that our SG become what it was. We had a lot of fun. But you took up the reigns when City of Villains came out, and ran our villain Sg, Midnight Elite Syndicate, and allowed me to be a silent partner. I was truly sorry for our fallout. Damn those mistexts. But you were a little bossy, babe. LOL. Miss ya!

My PVP Friends: Metal Mini, FD, Slan, Stan, EG, Frost, Wren, Vert, Real, Pearle, Kali, and of course, Hate.

"He's Hate! He's Hate! With Sheep he fornicates!" I still have people come up to me and show me how they made their battlecry into my little sheep fornicating song I made for you LOL. Out of all my PVP friends, we were closest. We had some great conversations. Hope you're doing well, my friend. Smack EG around for me. If you ever get tired of Wales, come on over to the States. Plenty of room here in Cali for ya.

To Kali for showing me the fun of stacking stuns with my Inv/Energy tank. Also, for making me laugh so hard while waiting to put together a Hollow's trial. You were heckling the CoT contact up in his grill. But when you said, "Yo, get this man's wallet," I died laughing.

I'd mention Real, but he's probably AFK as we speak, so we'll talk about baby real; grow up big and strong and pwn daddy!

Pearle: for the most interesting night I've ever had on skype, and yes, Love, I was still online with you. To Ed and Eddy for making that possible LOL.

FD, you hated fool, lol. And yes everyone, he's just as much a pain in person, but he's got a soft spot too. It's just really deep down. FD and I got a chance to hang out in person and play some pool and drink some Hemp Ale. Good times, Guz. Miss ya, brother. Now go paint some lawnmower wheels silver so they look chrome and go mow some lawns! Mezcans Unite!

To the guy I got banned: Bish! You shouldn't have hacked my info within the Cryptic site! Moron! What did you think was gunna happen!? By the way, you succeeded. The next time I logged in, my PC started uploading windows non-stop. Your attempt to "Blow Up" my pc was nearly a success. Too bad I was fast enough to alt-F4 out of all them. To your credit, 40 had probably opened in seconds before I realized what was happenning.

Sooner and Riverdancer. I always wished we had the opportunity to really get to know each other. And River, you and I had a fallingout before we ever got the chance to even talk. But you guys were an awesome part of the forums, and I'm glad you two were the glue that held them together.

Badge and Vorac! Thanks for all the fun guys! Badge your inspiration and creativity are what made Protector proof that our community was like no other. Thank you for the Robot Rumbles, Milo the Mitos, hours and hours of unheard of raids designed by you. And to Vorac for taking the time to create those awesome videos so we can all enjoy them to this day. Please, please, please never take them down. I still like to watch them and see all the goobers try to say how we faked the videos and that they weren't real.

Beef, JD, and Yuk. Thanks for the fun. I'm sorry it ended the way it did. But you opened my eyes to many things within game, and for that I am very thankful. It brought a whole new level of enjoyment of the game.

NunYo. Sigh. What to say? Well. For 3 months, we had a great time. It was almost magical. And then we met in Minnesota and had a great adventure pulling a trailer through the snow 2700 miles back to California. But our separation was a necessary decision. I hope you understood eventually.

The Stoned Templars, Cherry, Angie, Stone, Kas, Jonnie, Fanged Knight, Enigma, Hawky, and Dazz. I love you guys dearly. I'm looking forward to our Vegas trip, and to every Friday night. My one solace in this departure is we'll continue to be friends and hang out several nights a week. That the sad demise of CoH doesn't mean the end for us.

Gypsy and Bush. My oldest and dearest friends in CoH. We don't get to speak as much as we used to, but when we did, it's as if not one day has gone by. I've watched your son grow up. I've watched your awesome relationship turn into a marriage. I've got to fly to the opposite end of the country and spend a week with you. "My tasty-cakes is good!" We really need to get together soon!

Love you Protector. You were always home. Even when I followed my PVP group to Freedom. Even when I went to Exalted at the start of F2P. And even when Champion became my adopted home with The Stoned Templars, you were still Home. Thanks for the fun in the forums and ingame.

To all those I've forgotten, I'm so sorry. For those I didn't have the time to expand on, people like Soli, Nurse, Kral, you are just as important. Thank you for the time. The fun. The laughs.

The leader is free to invite whoever he chooses and I have no problems with that in any way shape or form. Please just don't say anyone is welcome when clearly they are not and it has become mainly a private run for you and your friends. If anyone actually has a run where everyone is welcome, please let me know.

Never a good idea to start grabbing whoever when your not the raid leader. Especially for a Keyes or Underground. And usually when a raid leader is organizing for such an event, they are looking for key builds. Regardless if JD invited friends or not, he may be looking for specific ATs required for the raid's success, and as he, or anyone raid leader, is searching, the league is filling up.

So now, all you've done is caused stigmata in the group, cuz someone or someones have to be booted. What's the point of doing the raid if you don't have the proper setup to complete it in the first place? I don't raid to fail.
  6. Yup. Gamma Setting. Change it. Easy fix.

And I like the extra flare of it being night time during the Halloween Event. It'll be over soon. It doesn't last very long, and personally, I find it quite sad that somebody took the time to start a thread about it when it only lasts for 2 weeks. Get your event badges while you can. Cause it'll be another year before you'll get the opportunity.

I mean it might not seem like a huge deal to some, but to me, I like having my unique name. I have never ran into someone who has the same name but spelled differently or spelt incorrectly and I like it. It would take a lot out of the game for me if someone else had my name. My character would no longer be special, no longer unique.
Either way, you'd still be unique. The fact that you've never run into someone with the same name but spelled differently, then odds are, you would have never run into someone with the same name spelled the same.

I like my main names. And I do like being the only one. What I don't like is becoming attached to a name, then go to a different server, and it's taken on a toon who probably hasn't seen the light of day in 2000 days, but I still can't have it. Or worse, on an account that is inactive altogether, but the name is still locked.

    Hami Halloween!

Evacless runs are fun! More of a challenge
  9. So ran my Arc with a couple people yesterday. At the end, one of them said they enjoyed the Arc. I asked if they had any feedback or suggestions (cuz I'm polishing it every day), and they said the only thing they would change was the leader...

I was so taken aback and confused, that I didn't ask what he had meant. It had nothing to do with my Leadership skills. Very pleasant run. I called out goals. Answered questions. But his comment, even tho said with a light-hearted nature, made me feel like I was missing something.

Is there an unspoken rule I missed out on that the leader is supposed to narrate the contact dialogue since the team can't read it maybe?

I've actual done that in the past, but felt like I was being a nuisance - which brought me to adjusting Clues and Popup windows along the way so players could keep up.

200? Never. The odds of even 2 or 3 of you running around at the same time is very rare. Especially with everyone having altitus.

And regardless. Whether you have "Zeus" or not, if there does happen to be a superhero online with the same name, but spelled "Zues", there are sill 2 of you running around. And if you were the latter, wouldn't you want the right spelling?

This hasn't been broughten up, but if there was a problem with teaming, a simple solution is a small orb next to the characters name in the team window that has your face profile for clarification.

    Hami Halloween!

Got my Halloween costume ready to go!
  12. Nice job Celestial! Great back to back raid. Very smooth.
  13. Hey VIPers.

I'm a firm believer in the original vision of Mission Architects. A lot of us have some great Arcs out there. Feel free to use this thread for local advertisement. Or if you are looking for someone to run your Arc with you to give it some exposure, get some critiquing, or would just like to show it off, give me a shout out, and I'll be happy to join you.

    Thx!

  14. I'll be there. Need the Badge. I'll work on getting Clarion setup in the meantime.

See. I liked how Champions Online handled their names. There could be more than one name running around. You just couldn't duplicate it within your own account. And the odds of you running into that person was slim since players weren't limited to one server but could hop around. This opened up a huge opportunity to make character names that made sense. It was rather nice. If you wanted Vesuvius, you got it - rather than getting crazy and ending up with Vesoovyus or Ve Su Vius or some other silly concoction.
  17. Also a bit late. Got it about 2 weeks ago.

    Ath Broadsword/Shield Defense Brute (Hero)

Blew through 3 toons to 30 during prelaunch. Wasn't feeling the vibe. Then created Ath (short for Athanatos, my first toon. Means: Immortal) Started out loving it. Then in the late 30s, getting really frustrated with it. After a few trips to the Brute Forums and the Mids drawing board, was able to polish my build, and now I'm absolutely loving it!!
  18. I'll be happy to join. Haven't been to an Exalted Hami yet since my Badge Addiction has been on high alert lately. How's the crowds looking?
  19. Added a Breakdown to the first post. Hopefully this gives anyone interested in running it what they'll be expecting.
  20. Very Excited! Always been 100% for towards what AE was designed for. Definitely join that channel tho! Thanks for the info!
  21. Thx @Block-head! Made some changes based off your experience. And then those led to more changes. I'm also glad you liked the length. 5 missions can scare people off. I made them as short as they could be so that you could pretty much see the end from the beginning. Plus, I didn't want the story to be lost in timing in between confrontations. Glad you liked it!

    UPDATES

    Part 1 of 5
    • Changed Wailers (cap lvl 40) to Infernal Demons (cap lvl 54)
    • Added several battles to first mission to make it feel more like a battleground.
    • Changed Boss to be more of a challenge.

    Part 2 of 5
    • Fixed Issue with first task not showing up in Navigation Bar
    • Attempted to fix spawns. I think it's still pretty random despite the Front, Middle, Back option.
    • Couldn't fix Imperious or Daedalos Hero stat. It's a Default. Might increase with +Rep.

    Part 3 of 5
    • Added Text to better help explain the storyline from Part 2 to 3
    • Altered Boss costume to its original
    • Fixed spelling error (Devine to Divine)

    Part 4 of 5
    • Replaced Circle of Thorns with Infernal Demons.
    • Fixed Boss Spawn
    • Added Bio to Brigg to explain why he has The Family with him.

    Final Mission
    • Shortened Title to fit in top line.
    • Added another surprise to give the plot twist even more flare.
    • Changed Exit and final Mission Pop-up. It was too weak and needed more of a final feel to it.
  22. Awe! I didn't realize this was still going. I wanna submist mine for November.

    Arc ID: 521712

Let me know if I need to resubmit later during a proper time or not.

    Thx!
