Proliferate Archetypes

I wasnt under the impression a decision had been made one way or another, but maybe I missed where they show a screenshot where you select Hero/Praetorian/Villian?

I have always thought the Hero/Villian AT split is kind of silly. As if there are never any bad people who are Blasters or Controllers. It's a game contrivance derived from when the games were split, maintained these days more because it's how the character creation UI works than because it makes sense.

My theory always was that people manifested powers by environment and response which is why PP was important. The thing that divides a scrapper from a brute would be that the Scrapper started out trying to be good or at least doing the right thing for the wrong reason and the Brute started out either feeding his rage or using his rage to deal with a dark world he was stuck in.

Sadly, this entire thread (well, the OP's participation in it at least) proves that the biggest hindrance to good gaming is RP gaming. Not trolling to fan a flame, but I have seen more Suggestions with more vitriol over an RPer (who is ALL about imagination) getting totally worked up about not having the Devs follow THEIR POV when it comes to implementing THEIR OWN imagination. Whereas I (for the greatest part an Anti-RP Player) like to imagine all sorts of rationales within the given framework of the Game and its Lore to have a character be what he or she is whether it agrees specifically with the Game or its Lore.

I will buy that individual RPers are creative and have great imaginations when they get over the hump of 'not being able to work out their creativity within the mechanics of the game as it stands'. Now, off to play my Water Blaster.

In the other thread I said I usually don't do this...but this is good stuff.

Getting to say I told you so is good stuff huh.

I honestly expected to see a reply from me in this thread, because I know I also felt the same way as you in your initial post here.
And I really find it shameful the way some people respond to suggestions. Ridiculous.
When I first saw this, I thought it was poor form for necro-ing this just to say "I told you so" (Plus, like I said, I always felt like this move was a no-brainer as well... I can hardly believe anyone opposed the idea)... But, after reading the first few replies (and then practically the entire page) my mind changed completely... And, if I had know about it, I'd have necro'd it too.
