City of Neo-- Wait, what?

I've been really pleasantly surprised by the creativity of the City of Heroes playerbase this evening. I expected to log in to see dozens of identical-looking gun foo artists in black latex, mirror shades, and trenchcoats made to use the dual pistols set.

There have indeed been quite a few of those, but what I've most noticed have been the cowboys.

That's right. Six-gun totin', quick-drawin', outlaw-pluggin' cowboys. Some of them have been zombified.

I've also seen space captains, pulp-era secret agents, cops, private detectives, silver-age vigilantes, bronze-age assasins, a clown, several gun-wielding robots, the requisite catgirls, Sentai 'Rangers', and a wide array of things that are NOT Neo and Trinity clones.

Nice creativity, Heroes!

I created a cyborg chick in a green trenchcoat and laser sighted guns.

Then we get people coming in screaming that we ripped off Champion Online and we hurt our head from all the facepalming we do.

Yeah... I had fun designing my zombie cowgirl. I'm gonna remake her on one of the Live servers.

I have one of those; a black and grey wearing, "Renegade Hat" topped zombie gunslinger. Except that he's an outlaw that got plugged back in the 1800s, not one of the cowboys who did the plugging.

I made a mage with magical talking guns that speak broken German. I thought that she was pretty creative, but I'm pretty sure the zombie cowboys outdo her on sheer radness.

BackAlleyBrawler: I can't facepalm this post hard enough.
ShoNuff: If sophisticated = bro-mantically emo-tastic, then I'm going to keep to my Shonen loving simplicity dammit.

Any cyborg undead coboys yet?

Considering how popular cowboy comics used to be, it's hardly surprising.

And then there is my Scottish resistance fighter, Beefy McShootface, that came to the realization that Scotland become part of England centuries ago and in disillusionment came to Paragon City to shoot villains in the face instead. He wears a formal kilt, bowler, leather vest and elegant tie, granny glasses and those runners that have the long socks.

My 50s:
Prime Minister MA/SR Scrap - Protector
Captain Hit-Guy DM/Reg Scrap - Freedom
Prime-Minister ILL/TA Troller - Freedom
Ultimate Minister Inv/SS Tanker - Freedom

I made a historically accurate representation of a steam-punk cyborg Aaron Burr.

He'll fit in just fine in Paragon.

It's a little know fact that Aaron Burr is, in fact, actually a Steam-punk Cyborg Ninja.

I haven't made mine yet (I promised myself I'd finish leveling at least one of my three sub-50 characters before starting a new one) but I'm going with the trenchcoat and fedora private detective look for mine. It's possible I've been reading to much Harry Dresden recently.

I made a pirate type, with dual flintlocks arggg

Combat Kangaroos, Justice Server. First 50's
Jirra Roo Plant/Storm/Stone/Musculature Controller
Combat Kangaroo Rifle/Energy/Mace/Spiritual Blaster
Kung Fu Kangaroo Martial Arts/Reflexes/Body/Spiritual Scrapper
Tribal Arc Shield/Elec/Mu/Spiritual Tanker

I reactivated my US Account and disabled the EU one and spent an enjoyable evening keeping all those gun-toting blasters alive on Virtue with my Plant/Empathy controller.

5 Blasters, 1 Defender and a Tank and me who fitted in by using our fingers as guns and going pew-pew-pew. I don't think I've ever seen so many blasters in trenchcoats running about (most with Ninja Run).

My Shadow/Spirit hybrid is coming and I am waiting to create Ghost Ranger-type.

My first Dual-pistols attempt was a time-traveling inventor from 1895. When fired, his temporal flintlocks would jump back in time a split-second and be instantly reloaded.
Gold-tinted electricity manipulation seemed to fit the theme well. If I recreate him on the live servers munitions mastery with a Nemesis rifle would be a nice choice I think...

As per my style of ripoff creating original content, my Dual Pistoleer is a cross between Mass Effect's Tali'Zora and our very own Positron, with a look that's largely inspired by Torchlight's Vanquisher, who herself had a look inspired by Warcraft's Muradin and his dwarves. I made a couple of posters of her back in Beta and I'll be damned if I don't plug them in at every opportunity I get.

I ended up calling her "Velcro Kitty," a name I've gotten nothing but scorn for, but that's OK. It came out of my own line of someone who gathers more <something I don't remember> than a Velcro kitty rolling through a pile of woollen sweaters, as a reference to her propensity for getting herself into trouble.

She ended up as a Dual Pistols/Electric Blaster, and her story is that she is some kind of part-energy being trapped within her containment suit to prevent electrocuting large portions of the city very much perpetually. I did give her a feline face, but it's buried under two layers of hood and mask, so no-one can really tell. I'd have given her wildcat ears, too, but I can't do that with a hood on. Really, if VG Cat can have ear on their helmets, why can't I?

That, right there? Is an AWESOME explanation for DP flintlocks!

Currently playing:
The Domestic: Broom/WP

I actually had an old idea for this, basically villains would travel back through time and space, not with Arachnos... But with the Nemesis army to Fort Nemesis, California in 1852.
Meanwhile, heroes would travel to the present day Nemesis, California to unravel the mystery behind the place.
Both sides would leap through the different time periods, heroes to unlock the secrets and undo Nemesis' influence over the city that has become a stronghold for him, and villains to fortify his position in a never ending stalemate.
Plus, while in the old west, villains would get to perform bank missions old school style, tie women to railroad tracks, rob trains, and call out the law for a high noon duel!

One thought to help drive home that you'd play a villain for this zone is that Nemesis would contract your villain out to wipe out the Natives who have grown to be a thorn in his side, proving your villain the ultimate nadir of human morality with "Genocidal".
Worst part is that despite being a villain, for the time period you would be doing NOTHING unlawful.

I concur, that IS pretty cool.

I have no idea what I'm doing yet. I have a name picked out (no one will EVER take it before I do, it's really obscure) but no theme yet.
