Seriously, any idiot monkey can hit the feeder bar and hit 50, it's not a difficult task.

Thats the plan I follow anyway, and have done for some time. I tend to be solo. I guess I'm obviously not pushing to the limit, or something, because it certainly doesn't go by that fast.
What you're encountering here, Techbot, is that alot of people, especially longtime veterans, get into a mindset where they think everyone plays the same way they do. So if they do their best to sprint to 20 that means everyone must do the same thing.

I've nearly 100 characters at this point and not one of them has hit 20 in only a few hours. Then again, I've never tried to get them there that fast.

Given that GR content is only to level 20, and the epics were moved down to level 20, I tend to suspect (but again, only my own belief), that our playstyle is more typical of the playerbase than the style that gets you to 20 in a few hours.

But we'll never know, unless a dev decides to post their datamining on the issue.

I think 20 is a good level for it to be moved down to. I myself don't even have a single 50 yet because I find the 40 to 50 game to feel more like a grind than fun. Not getting them at start makes new players (who will not level to 20 in a couple hours without PLing) learn the game first, while keeping the level to unlock them relatively easy to get to increases the potential number of players who will start using them. The more players use them, the more priority they'll have with the devs for being worked on.

@Doctor Gemini

Arc #271637 - Welcome to M.A.G.I. - An alternative first story arc for magic origin heroes. At Hero Registration you heard the jokes about Azuria always losing things. When she loses the entire M.A.G.I. vault, you are chosen to find it.

I'm actually serious. I've been making similar comments on that particular topic for... *counts fingers* the past five years.
no, even if you have the collectors DVD code on your account you have to do something to unlock the cape, like get 20 and do the cape mish, or buy the magic pack. the 2 dvd capes are not avbl in a single shoulder cape either if i remember right.

the heroes version (Collectors Ed.) is avbl on amazon for about 100$ US but the villians one is there for just over 10$ US. so the villians one is worth it because you get the free month too, but the heroes one not so worth while to me, but only way to get that power that I know of unless there was a power pack to buy, i remember a new one of those though that might fit your needs there. (but that's all off topic...)

...Never thought the Epic's were all that Epic either, would be much closer if not for the freeking voids and Q's, trav power (read Flight) at lvl 1 (or 6) is nice though. But I don't like being forced to team and that's what that basically does. It would be really kewl if they added a new 'epic' but I doubt that seriously.

I just hope that the collectors version of GR will be avbl for preorder too.
I wont pre-order the reg one and then buy the other if it means I have to pay $70 to do both, I'll just wait for July, as much as I hate waiting for something that we have been waiting on for over a year now hehe...

the 'Evil' Twins better have goatees though!!! even the women! it's requirement, unless of coarse the original has one, then the 'evil' twin should not... (after all the villain would consider his/her good twin the evil one, they are the good one, obviously! hehe)

Rian Frostdrake for public office!

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

They lowered it because hopefully it means new content / rewards for lvl 50.

Also, because it keeps players playing.

And now: capes and auras at lvl 5, plz? I don't alt, but it seems pointless to leave them where they currently are if EATs are now down at lvl 20.

Yup. And the same can be said for Stone armour characters, Masterminds or any 'intensive' AT. For the record, I never once used keybinds on my Kheldians, and I could play alright. I simply deleted them because they were slow and somewhat painful to level, penalised more than other ATs and got stuck with scum like Vahzilok at level one on a fairly squishy AT. IN the same vein I can't play Stone armour, because I find the playstyle crippling.

That doesn't stop others from enjoying them a lot, and playing them very well. Not does it stop there being people who cant play them at all, and should really give up and go play something easier. Like Solitaire.

Agreed entirely.

I haven't really bothered to check, but I wonder at whether some of those people who keep making statements that Khelds are so "difficult" because you have to have keybinds, etc., are some of the same people who suggest Masterminds to someone looking for an easy beginning Villains character. I find a MM also potentially very non-intuitive to play (it you want to do it "right" with all the keybinds that have been recommended) and also an AT that has a shifting role depending on the team.

Of course, I play neither my few Khelds nor my few MMs with the binds - so I solo a lot so as not to inflict my non-optimized playstyle on others. And soloing on a Kheld is not much fun at all.

I'm looking forward to finally getting my SoA, though. My highest villain is only level 46. Five years plus, including pre-start weekend for CoV on that character. I *think* I might be able to handle the VEAT.

Personally, I like soloing my PB most of the time. That, and I don't end up screwing a team over because there was one of those surprise Nictus crystal things during a run.

Agreed, but Cosmic Balance does not force you to team. You can play quite effectively without the buffs it provides.

As do I. Though I admit that my playstyle doesn't represent the One True Playstyle™.

Nearly three years on, and th only keybind I use on my MM is the one for Detonator, which I only respecced into within the last month or so.
I do have the standard three macro's (edited slightly) and thats it.
It's all a matter of playstyle. And wether you have two brain cells to rub together or not

True. But it sort of sucks that your inherent only works when teamed. Its like Tankers and Defenders when fighting and not teamed. Sure, you don't NEED the thing. But can you imagine Blasters, Scrappers or Stalkers (or most of the others) having their inherent disabled when solo?
I can. It involves lots of fire, shouting and general havoc.

I concede your point.

Yeah, but at least with Tankers it at least keeps things near you running solo and you don't waste a powerpick/use/end using taunt.

To this day, it boggles my mind that cosmic balance doesn't help your team in return or buff fellow Kheldians.

I felt a return of one buff back to each AT (accept maybe mag 2 mez resist) would do.

Khelds would give 2.5 def per PB and 2.5 to hit per WS to each other on team.

Thank you, City of Heroes, for giving me a superhero social network combined with amazingly smooth game play. Petitions signed with realistic expectations.

It does help your team in that you become better at whatever role your playing. But I've also wondered why they still havent added buffs from other Epic ATs

From all the in-game E-Mails I've gotten, reaching level 50 is only $30 away...

I kid, I kid...

All these awesome announcements made about Issue 17 and we're stuck on when the Archtypes are unlocked? And another thread exclusively about the animated tails? Gah I love you wacky people.

(I want more Architect changes!)
