I do take in consideration "who" is giving that post. I've only been a member since Jan 09'. When I first started out, the majority of my questions were the "how to" or "where to" type questions. If someone gets back to me with an answer and their post looks like a ransom note e.g. misspelled words, bad grammar, they are not going to be as credible in my eyes versus someone who can put two words together. You yourself have helped me many a times. That's the main reason I signed on to these threads, to seek credible answers to help me enjoy a better CoX.

I am not really sure when the actual forums started if it was from the inception of CoH 2004'ish or later? If it was later then that's "really" amazing.

I know that if someone really gets involved in a post by commenting back and forth, that the total number of that persons posts will grow exponentially. So, unless someone doesn't do this for a living or just sits in front of their computer all day, how is it possible? Look at it like this: Lets say the forums did start-up in 2004. We'll say five years or 365 days x 5yrs. = 1825 days. If someone has over 20,000 posts, that's roughly an average of 11 posts per day! 11 x 365 = 4015 per yr. 4015 x 5 yrs. = 20,075 posts!
This makes me go "Hmmmmm". Obviously someone was really bored to do these calculations.

Please, allow me to interject. While staying within the numerous rules of the boards, PvP is also "a game". Much like reputation.

Are they so different?

I leave it to you to draw you own conclusions.

Good thing I don't PvP either.

I am sure that there are a few posters like me here as well. There was a time that I only posted to ask questions. As my search skills increased I found that many of my answers were already here and I had no need to post the question.

Anymore I post to chat with friends or give an opinion. I don't even look at post count anymore as I can tell by the name posting if the information is good or not. I have respect for posters like Arcana, Cat, and Memphis based on the game knowledge I have gained just from reading their posts.

As it happens, they also have a high post count.

If you are treasure hunting on a battlefield wearing an enemy uniform, there is a high probability that you will be attacked.

There are many people who post here that I know I can get accurate information from. My three name list included those that posted here already that I know I can trust the information from. I don't need to post in the forum if I need an answer from you, I can just ask in game.

KK says hi back at you. We will see you on Monday.

I used to post a fair amount to call out stupidity, but a while back, I realized that the developers (thank goodness) don't listen to those people anyway, so I stopped bothering.

Now, I usually only post when I have something to say about the Paragon Wiki/Titan Network.

If I had to pick people I put a lot of faith in, I'd rank Memphis_Bill and Aett_Thorn up there. I like Fleeting Whisper's posts, he's a smart and helpful guy. I like Catwhoorg a lot because he has helped out a ton with the Paragon Wiki. (And he's one of the few people here I've met in person. ) I'm also a fan of Aggelakis, too, she's helped out a ton with the wiki also.

If I ever reach the level of "Forum Cartel," I think I'm going to ask to have it changed to "Wiki Wonk" or something. I hate that title, because it implies that they're part of a clique or something. (Which, to be fair, some of them are, but it's not as bad as it used to be, thank goodness.)

As for Cuppa Incarnate... Ugh. For those of you who have come here in the past, gosh, over three years now, CuppaJo was the original community rep. She had a bunch of leechy followers that would post what I call "nom nom" replies--nonsensical fawning messages--to all of her posts. I liked her okay and thought she did a good job, but jeez, people. Anyway, for a long while while she was here and after she left, this "Cuppa" theme was pushed, which is where that title came from. If I recall correctly, the first person who actually reached 20,000 posts got to pick it, and that's what they picked. I don't know who it was, and I'd just as soon leave it that way in case they're still around.

If they've gotten rid of that title, then thank god. I think that if it were still around, if I ever got there, I'd just stop posting forever when I got one shy.

To be fair, due to that last little bit of "they also happen to have a high post count" you don't fit in that grouping, MB>

The unique title did not survive the forums transfer, which is sad. I miss GA's Postmaster General title and it was easy enough to locate people like the PERC Reps and such.

Some have already been mentioned and some have not, but my list of people who's post carry more weight than others are Memphis_Bill, Aett_Thorn, FatherXmas, Arcanaville, Zombie_Man, BillZBubba, and Fleeting Whisper just to name a few.

Bill pretty much said it the best.

Otherwise - it's by what I'm seeing in the body of the post, not that column to the left.

lol, we were just kidding around.. but if you want to get technical, I still have a high count when you consider when I actually started visiting the forum on a regular basis, which was early 2008. Also, 90% or more of my posts were answering Player Questions here, the Badge forum, and in the Tech forum. The only other forum I even visit is Freedom when I host and join events.

In that sense, I'm not far behind you... not that count actually matters. But I guess you got me there. lol

That reminds me of an incident a few years ago where an SG had all sorts of issues of not being able to change SG settings and it turned out that they had to get a character named 'Goto' manually removed from the roster to fix it.

Yeah, I'll agree with this. I have some strong opinions, but I'm more open to ideas than some would give me credit for. There are a total of 5 people I actively dislike on these forums, and Bill you aren't one of them.

As to how I got my post count, in order: The City Scoop (layout was interesting before the forum change, and a few orders of magnitude worse since), Badges and Gladiators, Base Construction, and Player Questions, then rarely in the other sections.

The Scoop was responsible for 20-50 posts each week, if not more.

We can manually adjust them as needed, but I like the sleek nature and sublime beauty of 0. I could possibly even lock it there. Shall I try?

Edit:In the spirit of charity I only removed a few

Cool! Can you lock mine at 0? Because that would be AWESOME!

Agreed! I'd love to have a constant post count of 0.

Oh, I wasn't going into dislike (most of those go onto a perma-ignore list, and that list is really pretty small.) Just that I seem to recall we argue more than we agree if we're in the same thread. (Either that or we've had some real blowout at some point that left that impression on me.)

(And yeah, I'll go through phases of being *really* touchy about stuff, too, which might also color it - never claimed to be an angel.)
