Discussion: Spring Fling returns for Valentine's Day!

doG, could this please, with a cherry on top and pixie stix sprinklings, be the last event that we EVER see Snaptooth and that deformed midget, Baby New Year (please not for the next new year's thing)?

So unbelievably sick and tired of both of them.

With me being new, I'm not that bothered by the lack of anything new for the event itself though I admit it wouldn't hurt for the vets. I'm much more concerned that we've gotten absolutely no patches whatsoever despite the fact that several things were explicitly found and noted as fixed and sent off to the "next build" in December but never actually hit. The more cynical thought process would be that GR is the ultimate excuse in "why fix content when we can cover it up with new shinies?" though I'm hoping I'm dead wrong in that aspect.

And why y'all hatin on Snaptooth? Don't you see that banner, he just needs some wuv.

i would have to say snaptooth is definitly getting overused (hes in basically every event except the halloween one)

as for this years spring event, honestly i could care less because its the same as the previous year. the only thing i will get is replacement temp powers, but otherwise i doubt ill participate unless it does get more teaming going on (will at least dissolve the boredom temporarily)

Obviously, If you don't like the event or think it's tired, nothing says you have to play it.

If the other Dev created is getting tiresome, try the AE system there really are some jewels in there, not just the Dev Choice's.

If neither of these options suits you you could try your hand at PvP.

and if none of these options is what you want. Are you sure you really want to spend $15 a month on game you don't want to play?

At this time no updates to old content only means that most of the team is working on the unprecedented system of faction switching. I can't remember but for an MMO that has Factions or Realms or Sides or whatever isn't this a first?

While I am of the opinion that some more visible effort should be made into updating the old and sometimes buggy content. I realize that old does not draw new players to the game, nor does it bring back old players that left. New and shiny pays the bills... and thus allows Paragon studios to add to the staff so that not only do we get faster updates but the old stuff is fixed/spruced up too.

Quick, someone make an AE arc about Manticore forgetting his wedding anniversary! With SP being a psychic, he can't even claim he had not forgotten. I can see SP reaching for the Enema Arrows...

Meh... I was pretty certain it wouldn't bring anything new, but I hoped that it included anything like the Halloween event, seems I was mistaken.

Besides, watching that the last Issue was released in early October and GR is supposed to be released anytime in the 2nd quarter of the year (April - June), and it's a SO long time, I expected anything in the middle, according to what Posi said in the Hero Con regarding Issue 17, powerset proliferation (electric domination) and so, but it seems again that I bet the wrong horse.

At least, as some of the previous posts have already typed, I can get the badges with some of the toons I've created in the last year, otherwise I'd have an anxiety disorder waiting for GR

This has always been the least entertaining event to me. When it first was released it was cool to form a mixed team to see how the different ATs worked together. The novelty of doing co-op missions wore off long ago when the RWZ entered the game.

As the 2009 Halloween and Winter events were slightly modified I was hoping that this event might also be slightly modified. Unfortunately for me this is not the case. The badge-hunter in me cringes to realize that not even one new badge was added to the event.

Nice to see that an event is happening. and it sounds like some folks are looking forward to it. For me, it is just another reminder that the last significant content to be added to the game was almost four months ago and new content in Q2 2010 probably means June 2010.

The Pro:
Nice to see the event continuing. Cause it means that new players will be able to do the event.
But the Con:
Nothing new (as others have said), means that I have little or no need to log in, cause I've done this event alot during the previous years. Every character I have (and that I care for) have gotten the badges/temp powers etc.

I had hoped that the Devs had added just a tinsy bitsy new thing, like they did (yeay Warwitch) for the winter event.
Like hey being errend runner for Manticore &Sister Psyche. Finding a ring/flower something nice since something happened and Manticore needs some help in fixing it.
Being hired by an ncp to well break the relationship of said couple (or any other).
Giving various presents to another player (some form of inspiration) (or npc) and get a temp power. Being rewarded by some form of badge (anything really... just not use Snaptooth, he is very overused).
Or help a poor bloke that fell in love with a mafia daughter (she loves him aswell), sort of Romeo and Juliet thing?

Yeah...I understand the notion of bringing these back, so new players/characters can get in on the missions to get badges and costume items, but it's a bit disappointing. Baby new year and the valentine snaptooth missions are the most explicit dev created 'farms.' Do the same mission, rinse, repeat. The text even makes light of this: "Do it once more, with feeling!"

It would be nice in the future if at least there were a pool of 3-4 different missions that came up to add variance. Doing the same mission over and over to milk it for all the things you won't be able to get for a year is not all that entertaining. Doing these multi-runs of the same missions for multiple new characters ≠ fun.

It's just flowery language describing the mission that Scratch gives to villains. See the lower part of Scratch's page on ParagonWiki.

im not sure what the problems is, yes i personal think that they have overused snaptooth but that ok while the new players get to play with snaptooth.

until beta/live/issue 17? etc i will be very happy watching lost playing ddo/ME2 so new people and people who like it it is all yours enjoy.

for those who are tired of it yes i agree snaptooth is old in the tooth (get it old in the tooth i kill me oh nm). plz notice the exit doors all around you some go to the tv show lost others go to games like ME2 enjoy.
