New shinies Do. Not. Work. if the chassis of the game is starting to rust, looks wise anyhow. The old models look Terrible. Really, really Terrible.
Please, WW, you said Not every Issue had to have a new feature. Make Revamping the old stuff come true?
I completely disagree, new shinees and content are way better than microwaved leftovers.

As for today's "news" I am mixed; screenshot looks cool, tunnels seem cool, backstory is lolzworthy, but I'm not playing for the lore.

Infinity and Victory mostly
dUmb, etc.
lolz PvP anymore, Market PvP for fun and profit

True, it hasn't been updated yet. However, it was stated by Hero 1 as recently as this past PAX that Marcus Cole killed Stefan Richter because he wanted his power, and the desire to rid himself of a super powered competitor. There was more mentioned, but I figure that will come out in the story that will be revealed with GR.

That's until your fridge fills to the brim, popping with old rotten leftovers that nobody wants anymore.

If they're not wanted, would they be outcasts?

But it is important - they could have made his bio just say "this is Badman, ruler of Badmanland - punch him for phat lewt", and it wouldn't affect the actual gameplay in any way at all - but lore totally enhances the game experience

Second, I'm getting a "subway" vibe from the picture. Would sort of make sense for the PTA system to work differently in Praetoria and thus specific blind spots in it could be used by the Resistance as a "Not Quite So Abandonded Sewer Network". Access points throughout the city and it would be made of lead/adamantium/kryptonite/whatever with a side effect of blocking most telepathy.

Note: There's a solid chance I'm dead wrong.
At ComiCon this year, someone asked about "the Incarnate System." The response from the panel was "You will hear about Incarnates just one more time." My bet: Calvin Scott is the other Incarnate, and it is his psychic abilities that shelters the Resistance.

Yeah, I have to bring this up all the way from page one, but I am contractually obligated to geek out over this. Let me see if I can put this in an eloquent way.

*ahem*

ZOMG! Are those GLOWING COLOURS? Seriously? That... That face, that's a player face! Is that a player model? Can those things be used by players... As in, by me, on me for my own glowy glowy fun? Really? Please? That's been like, man... What, FIVE YEARS I've been asking for this? If that makes it into the game, one of two things are going to happen:

1. You earn a permanent customer who isn't going to leave for anything short of civil war.

2. You lose a customer to spontaneous head explosion.

And either one would be AWESOME!

Just something I've noticed on Tyrant's new bio:

Secret Identity: Marcus Cole
Origin: Magic
Affiliations: The Praetorian Empire
Archetype: Tanker
Powersets: Invulnerability / Super Strength
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 225 lbs
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Brown
Distinguishing Marks: None

Shouldn't his Origin be Incarnate rather than Magic, like Imperious, Statesman, and Reichsman? And also, Super Strength? So his Energy Melee attacks will be removed for Super Strength instead?

Also, info a screenie is greatness! That's just what we need to keep going.

Now, if you had a deal worked with a company for like....uhmm 10% off a new computer system, that would help me a lot too.

Either they got the powerset name wrong in the bio, or the wiki has the wrong powers listed, cause they don't jive. I always thought he had the same powers as Statesman, just named differently. He got his powers from the Well, so that would be magic. Incarnate would refer more to his powersets, since he technically has three, with his lightning strikes.

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

Let me get this straight, GR has been talked about nonstop for a while now and all they got as an update is a screen shot of a character?

Come on already give players some thing more, whats next? A screen shot of a wall with some bricks?

Seriously stringing out GR information seems pretty pointless.

I've been thinking about the Resistance pieces and the Preatorian Clockwork pieces and I came up with a theory of how they will be unlocked.

The Preatorian Clockwork pieces will be tied to a defeat badge (possibly defeat 100 Preatorian Clockwork) or a Task Force completion badge. I doubt they'd be unlocked for joining the Loyalists, since they would only fit tech-based characters.

The Resistance pieces will be unlocked by going through an "initiation" arc for the Resistance.

Another costume set (probably the Preatorian Police) will be unlocked by completing an "initiation" arc for the Loyalists.

It's just a theory, but it's plausible.

Very plausible.

Making it a little more accessible, they could be attained by learning the history of the 2 factions by way of exploration and accomplishment. Then everyone could earn them for whatever role they want to play at any given moment.

Expanded? You mean like Grandville or dare I say the entire sewer/abandoned sewer network? There is certainly precedent for it and by the look of that screen shot I might just have a toon or two that may never see the light of day in Preatoria.

Awesome. So, my completely calm, rational, and sophisticated response to the new picture.

The tunnel system looks interesting. I doubt it is sewers as they would be dirtier, though if Marcus Cole (aka Tyrant) controls Hamidon and can clean the earth of scars of nuclear war, then it is possible that he could even clean sewers.

That said, I think it is more of a resistance underground tunnel system that will hopefully used for instanced maps and missions. That and the lighting and shadow effects are interesting and seem to be a new level of awesome. That and ZOMG the glowing lights cast different color lighting on the wall and OMG THE ARMOR IS AWESOMENESS. I want that 1337 Tr0n @rm0r!!!! That Beard is the l33+ sh1zzl3s!!!

ZOMG!!!!

Ahem.... I apologize. The lighting effect (and color) on the back wall from the new glowing lights are an added dimension. In addition, the new armor (hopefully color-tintable) looks amazing and the beard is a nice addition.

I seriously hope that the back piece is indeed part of a new set, including backpacks, scabbards, quivers, etc.
