War Mace...

... rocks my socks.

Ok, I've played enough brutes through low levels to know that they're monstrous regardless of power sets early on. But something about WM seems even smashier than the others I've played and abandoned. So far the single target damage seems very nice, and it looks like the AoE develops well later on.

I know that BA is very similar and I'd rather do smashing than lethal... Also Clobber is better than Swoop, dammit.

Am I suffering from new-character-is-awesome syndrome or what? Anyone with a WM brute have any stories?

I love my WM/SR. Jawbreaker->Clobber. Crack him in the jaw up into the air, and slam a sledgehammer down on the back of his head while he's laying face down on the pavement. Good times, good times.

I find it to be a very visually satisfying set. Pair that with it being effective numbers wise and you've got a very nice, very enjoyable set.

I agree. War mace *feels* smashier than any other set (at least early on). looking forward to seeing how far this one goes for me Brutes seem to run outa gas for me early 20's. But this guy is /shield so he has holes that will need to be filled and won't feel invincible all the time like my /wp guys do. He'll just be smashtastic. That and with ninja run I can get to the next spawn before a tick of fury comes off

I have a WM/SD brute at 50 and it is a blast to play. To me, WM feels just as smashy as SM for single targets and far way smashier in the AoE department. I would take crowd control over fault and Tremor combined everyday of the week and twice on sundays. As for SD and survivability, it'll be fine. Sitting around 45% defense and 25 second shield charge available for every spawn, you'll have no problem cleaning up entire mobs (except the bosses) quickly once you throw in whirling mace and crowd control spamming. Besides, the mobs will be spending more time knocked on their *** as opposed to standing up.

running a WM/WP brute myself. Got him to 50, and am now working on his ubber build to make him even more heinous. I can already deal with 18-20 individual minions with out much consern. When Dealing with large groups, the Crowd Control becomes a god send as it allows me to knock down basically the first row of baddies that are closest to me and gives me a brief second to assess the situation. Bottom line: Lot of fun to play and it just keeps getting better.

I had a blast playing my Shield/WM tank to 50, and have debated rolling the same build, or at least another WM as a brute to really lay the damage down. It's probably one of the most visually satisfying attack sets in the game for me.

Don't I know you???

I have a WM/Shield Brute at level 5, name is Warslinger. I've considered re-rolling him into another secondary. WM/SR would be a lot of fun and near invincible in the higher levels. WM/Dark to go exotic and different, I have a concept in mind for a "storm armor" character and I was thinking recolored DA would work.

So, any experience with WM/SR or WM/DA?

Not on a Brute, but I have a Dark/Mace tank that I love playing. With Clobber and the other stun attacks in Mace, it has great synergy with Op Gloom in Dark. (Clobber + Op Gloom will stun most bosses!)

So I think it's a great combo.

I have WM/Shield Brute (currently level 33). She is dieing a lot, but looks really great with Rularuu weapons

Still working on my WM/SR brute, but find it quite enjoyable so far. Used set slotting/frankenslotting starting at 17 to handle the endurance issues fairly well. I think the +Recharge from SR will help immensely, particularly with the lower tier attacks and building fury.

Just about to 28, so looking forward to another crazy aoe attack to unleash.

I think the combo works well, but there isn't much in the way of synergy to comment on other than the +Rech, which is less synergy and more just general awesome. Of course you'd get the +Rech from Electric Armor, as well as a damage aura and a self heal, so that might merit some consideration.

Working on a WM/SD atm, and from the numbers and the feel so far, it's going to be completely bonkers and with it's better than average attack chain, I'm hoping to put out silly dps (around 215 with one enemy in AAO range and 80% fury) during the end game.

My WM/EA is a lot of fun. It's got unlimited endurance, softcapped defense, and is an AoE monster.

Too many alts to list.

I just rolled a WM/EA brute and he is great. Do you have a build I could take a look at? Because I'm completely lost as to never playing brutes or EA before. Thanks

Mine is the same its bloody fun if I saw so myself! I never played EA or WM so I thought to role a WM/EA brute for kicks and fell in love with him. It was really easy to cap defense to S/L/F/C/E/N as well.

Yeah I have a WM/DA and it's great. I like stacking the stuns to stun bosses, and the damage aura adds to the AoE from WM/. They seem to go together quite well IMO.

My WM/SD Brute is easily my best slotted redside character. And with multiple Brutes at 50 she is my favorite to play.

Yes, she died alot at early levels and the endurance usage was brutal, but since hitting 50 and IO'ing out (almost complete, need another set or two), she is killer. Herd your group of mobs into a nice stack and go to town with crowd control, whirling mace, and shatter. Game Over!

It's may take some work to get up all the stats you want, to the levels at which you want them, but it'll be worth it in the end.

Beware of the Romans and their stacking -def attacks. They can chew thru shields at a rapid pace if your not careful.

PS. The painful 'Thunk" sound of clobber makes my head hurt just thinking of it.
