Tracking your characters?
I think you first need to decide WHAT you're tracking. Different utilities track different data.
Personally, I track badges, using Badge-Hunter.com (in conjunction with HeroStats for verification), and that's all.

I look at my Excel workbook, and can plan what I want to go after for the next play session (badges/XP/inf).
Or is it a matter of knowing which character is where and under (if you have them) which of you many accounts?
I create a new character, who has the inf handy that I can get muled over to them?
How deep do you track?
Sometimes, I impress my boss. Sometimes, I impress myself. The rest of the time, I scare people. I can live with that.
Not sure what you mean by "online" and "offline" tracking. "Online" meaning websites such as Badge-Hunter/"offline" meaning local applications such as Excel and such?
In any event, like I said, personally I track only badges using Badge-Hunter, and nothing else. I know there are many people who like to hone their playtime to a fine point by using many resources, and more power to you guys. I'm far too scattered and disorganized for something like that.

I use glycerine and City info terminal to track various things
Mainlyl badges, XP/level, inf and time since last login
@Catwhoorg "Rule of Three - Finale" Arc# 1984
@Mr Falkland Islands"A Nation Goes Rogue" Arc# 2369 "Toasters and Pop Tarts" Arc#116617
I use Excel to do some things involving this game, too. Whenever I get an idea for a new character or a respec of an existing one, I have a two-page "template" that I print out. On one page, I put in the powers available in their primary, secondary, and whatever pools I want for them, and then I have a clear picture of what powers are available at what level. The other page is what I track the powers they get and where I allocate enhancement slots on, which I fill in level by level as I play them.
I use that mainly as a build-planning tool, though, so I can see at a glance where a character's been, where it is, and where it can go build-wise while offline, or even away from the computer.
Currently published Mission Architect arcs:
Arc ID# 70466: From the Abyss.
Arc ID# 403174: The Serpent's Revenge.
Arc ID# 534236: The Clockwork Angel.
I use the wiki to track my chars. Beyond that, I don't. Hell, even that list is out of date. Missing a couple characters, a few characters are higher level now, transferred servers a few times, I think I deleted a char or two... etc.

I write a list of my characters, by server, on a piece of paper. Then just update their level.
Just so I know what I have where in case something in particular would suit a team, without having to go to the log-in screen to find out.
However, it turned out that Smith was not a time-travelling Terminator
OpenOffice Calc to keep track of characters on each server (AT/Primary/Secondary/Pools/Epic/Patrons/Current Level/Bars to Next Level/Where Logged Out/Inf)
That is just the first worksheet in the spreadsheet. I also keep other worksheets for what bank missions they have done, what Day Jobs they have (and what one is currently being worked on), and assorted badges by type (though that one is someone out of date).
Mainly I use my head - I generally have a good idea of what toons I have and their approx level. But it is slightly easier as Im EU as I only have two servers which I can play on (I don't speak French or German though I wish I could!)
Apart from that I dont track anything.
I did consider creating a spreadsheet to track what rare salvage and recipes I have on each toon but have never gotten around to it.

Never really got into this aspect of the game , but sounds like fun .
I just keep a spreadsheet keeping track of expenses/sells on my marketing characters. Mostly so I can see what's making me money and what's just selling. Well, okay, a lot of it is also because I just love statistics, and being able to figure out what percentage of money I make from people overshooting my prices gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.
Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
I look at them.
To limit my altitis, I have limited myself to two servers, one red, one blue. This has helped me with my condition somewhat, and has helped with character tracking as well. (As has the re-ordering feature.) Just put the highest level character first, and go on down the levels from there.
Sometimes I send an email to myself, so the next time I log in that character I can get a reminder note of whatever I was in the middle of. Mostly I don't feel a need to keep track of anything.

I use HeroStats (which reports to Badge-Hunter.com) for badge tracking and also things like inf earned over a play session when farming.
Other than that, I use Mids' Hero & Villain Designer to plan out new characters and decide what powers/roles I want to focus on at various stages of their career.
And before they added the ability to check how much credit you have towards badges, I was using Excel to count the number of inventions I'd crafted towards Fabricator.
Main Hero: Chad Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1396 Badges
Main Villain: Evil Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1193 Badges

I use Badge-***** to track my badges. For everything else, I have an Excel spreadsheet. It tracks:
Common IO Recipies (by group): 10-25, 30-40, and 45-50. I note what levels I have memorized, what each one takes, and have it set up to tell me how much of each salvage I need based on the number and kind of IOs I want to craft. I enter the number, and it calculates the rest. It even tells me how much salvage I'll need to make all the IOs (letting me know if I need to have more than the 80 salvage I can currently hold), and after I enter how much I currently have on-hand, it tells me how many more to get.
Recipe Buy-Sell Prices: This just breaks Uncommon and Rare Recipies down by Level, and lists their Sell Multiplier, their NPC Resell value, and what the 5% fee for the Market is to list it at that price. I use that to gauge A) If the current rate is worth placing it on the market, or bad enough to just NPC it, and B) What I should ask for it.
Character Builds - I have each character broken down, level by level, telling me what power to take, and what to slot in it. After I plan a build in Mids', I then manually put it in here. This also keeps track of how many of what enhancement I need for each power.
My Character Listing - This is my main tab. It has all my characters on Guardian for both of my accounts, listing their name, primary powerset, secondary powerset, AT, and level. I keep a running count of the number of Heroes and Villains I have, and how many of each AT each account has, as well as how many of each AT I have that I activly play. Then, it does it again for my characters on Pinnacle. After that, I have a list of my Heroes and a list of my Villains, sorted by Level, so that if I need someone of a certain level, it's really easy to figure out who to get. Next is a list of all my characters, and what SG they belong to. Finally, I have a list of all the Primary and Secondary powersets for Heroes, broken down by AT. I highlight the ones that I've used, and denote how many characters have use that powerset. I have a plain listing of the powersets I haven't used off to the side, so that I can see at a glance what powers I haven't used. Then, I do it again for Villain powersets.
Deleted & New Character Builds - I always keep the builds of characters I've deleted. I've remade them any number of times, and deleted them again. And new characters go there, before I'm sure I wanna make them. There have been times when I've made a new character build in Mids', and it looks great. Then, when I transcribe it to this tab, I see all kinds of interesting things I missed. Very helpful.
Day Job Tracker - I list my Heroes, and mark what Day Jobs they currently have, and what they're currently working on. Then, I do it again for my Villains.
My SSK Exemplaring Chart - See Sig for details... >.>
IO Sets Listing - This tells me what IO sets I need for characters that are (eventually) going to get them, and breaks them down by set, and what parts of each set I want. I color code the name to denote Uncommon or Rare, and then color code the individual piece names to denote the type of IO it is, e.g. Yellow for an Accuracy set, Red for a Damage set, etc.
Praetorian AV Tracker - For my Heroes. Lets me keep track of who has a defeat of what Praetorian for the accolade.
I Excel!

Anyway, for my main toon, I track badges with badge-hunter.com and use an Excel spreadsheet to track his merit earnings and expenditures. Also in Excel, I track what task forces and trials I do, plus influence on any characters with a lot (over a quarter billion).
I don't track any other stuff for any characters.
Paragon City Search And Rescue
The Mentor Project
Lets try that again...
How did you get that wiki list? Is it something you put together yourself, or was it somehow auto-generated?
All I have is a beat up steno pad that must be close to 20 years old now to track what power I picked up at which level. I don't use either of the build planners for pre-planning since I like to feel the playability of my characters as I go. I refer to my pad's information to see what I powers I have available if I exemplar and as a guide during respec-ing.
Teams are the number one killer of soloists.

I have a spreadsheet at home that just tracks my leveling progress. I have 50 planned heroes (46 of which are made and all over lvl 10). I have 28 villians planned for Going Rogue (praetoria to blueside), one of which is made and almost 50 (to unlock VEATS). I probably have 17-20 level pacts between the made characters and many of the ones I will make in GR will be pacted between my accounts. SO just keeping who is pacted to who is one thing my speadsheet does.
I also keep track of how many levels I gain each week. However, leveling a character from 10 to 11 and another from 44 to 45 is NOWHERE near equal. I fiddled with doing some high end math thing to wieght the levels but decided to keep it simple. If I level a character to level X, I get X number of "leveling points".
For Example if I am playing one of my characters that is level pacted to another of my characters and I ding 25, that means I get 25 points for each character hitting 25 for 50 total points. My goal is 500 points per week, but sometimes I am over that or under that. It is just my way of keeping focused on leveling.
Most of it was created piece by piece, and eventually turned into what it is now. As a matter of fact, I spent about 3 hours this afternoon revamping it. That was quite a chore. @_@
The forums have the problem, not me. AFAIC, there's only Badge-*****.

In the 5 years of playing, I have used: Badge-Hunter, Titan, Excel, MySQL and others.
Right now I am experimenting with Bento, a Filemaker off-shoot for Macintosh.
What do you track? Badges? XP to level? Super/Villain Groups? Servers?
I guess it comes to how many or how good your computer is, if you can do it on a second computer or in a window?
HeroStats? Is it exportable?
How do you do it?
