Weapon redraw issues and solution

BABs, that is awesome! Sad to hear that my Katana/Regen won't be benefiting from this until after Going Rogue. Doh!

My Broadsword/Shield Defense Scrapper thanks you though. The redraw animation caused from Active Defense was irritating. Now if you could only make Active Defense, Practiced Brawler, and etc. have a 0.1 cast time so we could activate other powers as soon as the click mez protection fired off...

Tech (and some natural) origin characters use Portal Corporation Extra Dimensional Storage technology.

Magic origin characters use either a Bag of Holding or a spell with similar effects

Everyone else uses Hammerspace

This definitely changes the way I play and the way I make my builds. This is potentially huge for me and in a freakin' good way. My Knives of Artemis character uses Broadsword/Willpower/Weapon Mastery. Caltrops, Shuriken, and Exploding Shuriken are tons of fun to use for that themed character and I certainly will be much less hesitent to use said powers after this change happens. Woo hoo!

So does this mean I can throw snowflakes and instantly have my broadsword in hand? I mean, that's huge and game breaking....

Extra Dimensional Storage technology has now been upgraded to fit in the palm of your hand.

The Bag of Holding is obsolete now that we have the Glove of Storing.

As for Hammerspace, did Optimus Prime have to deal with redraw animations on his trailer? No. It was there when he needed it and and gone when he didn't.

Suggestion - in case alternate weapon attack animations are included at a later date, simply add a check mark box on the Power Customization screen for any weapons sets that reads "Draw weapons during combat." That would give players the option of enabling it or disabling it while being able to use any possible alternate animations in the future.

I remember in the long, long ago that if you used an attack and draw your weapon the following attack would have a shorter animation that made up for the time you spent drawing your weapon on the first attack.

This doesn't work anymore but I used to constantly use it strategically on my Broadsword Scrapper back in '04.

Unless he expands his list to include Regeneration, that's not the way I read it. Looks to me like any powerset on that list won't cause redraw for another weapon, but weapons already don't cause redraw for themselves. I read the entire think as a joke.

Most of the time BAB makes sure that his jokes are obvious.

I read it as "nothing causes the redraw if you're in combat for any of the following powersets..."

This seems pretty straight forward:
"This means that you will be able to use any power in a chain with a weapon power, and not have to redraw the weapon...even completely different weapon powers."

he wouldn't have posted what he posted if he was just telling us "claws don't cause redraw with claws."

That means:

Now: Followup, focus, slash, reconstruction, redraw, strike, followup, lazerbeam eyes, redraw, focus, slash
become soon: followup, focus, slash, reconstruction, strike, followup, lazerbeam eyes, focus, slash

Which is damn cool.

As for assault rifle and katana, he mentions those with:
"The rest will have to wait until sometime after GR:"

That'd be called jump cancelling, and unlike that issue when I16 went live where Snap Shot's animation just didn't play at all, it's been around as long as anyone can remember.

Head's up, I've had to retract my previous statement. I've run into a complete roadblock related to shields and weapons that makes this method I was using un-workable. So it's back to the drawing board with the whole thing.

Ah man. While I may not have been thrilled about that exact change, I hate to see ya run into something like that.

Since you're just looking for stuff to do... How about an emote for the sonicstun animation where the character holds their head (in pain)... My chronic-migraine villain, Malfaz would like that... and it seems like something you could relate to right now!

Ah well. I am really glad you're looking into this though. It means a lot to many of us and certainly in my opinion would be one of the greatest QoL changes out there.

Can't use DB or claws with shields anyway. Leave the change in for those sets for the time being?

EDIT: I know the answer should be "no" because a proper solution works for all the sets and a proper solution is what you should be going for. Still bummed.
