Part of the issue is the fact that setting would keep resetting. Probably related to thinks like the "Won't keep this thread marked read" issue.

And at this point get the sued, as I don't see the lawyers approving a "You will be publicly mocked for forum transgressions" exception to the "All punishments kept private" line of the TOS.

Just adding my vote for a return of the rep comments when possible, please.

Probably not as they aren't actually directed at anyone.

Well I think that whoever tagged my MA review thread 'hugfest' was being sarky, not well-meaning. As it happens, i actually like the tag very much lol, but I'm not sure how Venture, for example, feels about some of the tags on his review threads. The tag system can be used to poke fun at the thread starters in some cases.

I think when we start to see tags name names, as it were, then maybe.

Right now I really don't take any of the tags below all that seriously. As I've seen some tags left that most players wouldn't dare posting for fear of being blasted in the face with the Ocho's mod nuke, and the mods haven't done too much about it, I don't think it's all that bad.

Then again I've seen some tags nuked.

So who knows if those will be removed also.

I wouldn't care either way.

OH! And lest I forget, I found another: (a classic actually )

Chocolate Cream Puff Dessert

1 stick margarine
1 cup water
1 cup flour
4 eggs
6 oz. Instant Vanilla Pudding
3 cups milk
8oz. cream cheese, softened
8oz. Cool Whip
Hershey's chocolate syrup Bring margarine and water to a boil. Blend flour in, beating it into a ball. Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Spread mixture into a greased 9" x 13" glass pan and bake at 400°F for 40 minutes. Cool crust.
For filling: mix pudding, milk and cream cheese together. Spread over cooled crust. Top with Cool Whip. Drizzle chocolate syrup over the top. Keep refrigerated.

Ya Rly.

I guess it depend if the mods find nuking tag lists all that time intensive, or breaking of the forum rules.

*looks at the tag list below*

I have a feeling they don't.

I'm sure they turned off rep comments entirely because that was a simple configuration change in the forum software. But I would've preferred a different solution: allow optional comments for positive rep and disallow comments entirely for negative rep. It's enough that someone neg reps you; I haven't seen any comments in negative rep that made me go "Wow, insightful. That comment changed my opinion." Even though I didn't get any Perfect_Pain-style nasty comments, they were frustrating because half of them were based on misinformation, yet I was unable to engage in any dialog.

As others have said, though, the comments associated with postive rep are nice because you get the compliment across without derailing the thread with an empty "kudos" post.

I'm guessing my suggestion won't be implemented because it'd require some custom coding, and I assume that there are exactly zero coding hours budgeted for customizing the forums.

Oops, typo. I meant to write "turned off rep comments entirely." Now fixed in my OP.

There's a long standing tradition on the forums of derailing troll/flame wars by posting tasty recipes in an attempt to distract everyone. More or less.
