Vanguard Lowbie

So last week I was gathering at the RWZ at the Vanguard Compound with my fellow teammates awaiting others for a TF when all of a sudden a level 2, yes that's right a level 2 Scrapper was inside the building running about begging for 50,000 in influence..lol. The question we were all asking ourselves was how in the heck did he get inside the RWZ being under the required level 35 to enter? Maybe it was just a glitch but it was funnier than hell to watch him jump around like his pants were on fire from one toon to another begging for influence...hehe. Anyone know how he might have got in?

Issue 16 removed the level requirements for nearly all zones. The lowbies can't do vanguard arcs, or earn the day job badge (they can get credit but no award until 35), but they can enter the zone and join teams.

I really don't see the point in opening up the RWZ for lowbies. It's like saying "Look at all this neat stuff you can do! But you have to be level 35 to do ANY of it, now go do something else and don't come back until you're level 35."

Well, sure you can team with friends there, but why not just go and team up with people who are closer to your level?

So that lowbies can co-op MA arcs.

QFE.

I think people forget that RWZ has a co-op AE building.

I don't understand what you are hinting at.

No, PvP zones are still level-restricted, as is Ouroboros and Cimerora.

As previously mentioned, the reason for opening up RWZ was likely the cross-faction MA.

So you're saying that the RWZ is now like St. Martial, Grandville, Founders' Falls, Brickstown and Peregrine Island. (Except for the co-op aspect.)

How... shortsighted of the Devs to do this.

Cross faction everything, not just MA. Just because they can't start the Vanguard arcs on their own doesn't mean anything is stopping them from participating with a mixed team running them. Same with a Ship Raid. They'd more than likely be a complete leech, and they wouldn't get bonus VMerits, however theoretically they'd get great xp and credit for the Ship Raid badges.

Just 50K? Sheesh, go take out a Rikti monkey or two.

If you reread the OP, the beggar was level TWO. The monkies would mangle him, and if he was SSKed up enough to fight them, he'd get rewards based on his level - less than 10 inf each.

I believe perwira is directing the OP - not the lowbie - to kill some dudes, as a level 50 gets TONS of influence per kill, and can make 50k in about 2 mins of lazy work, 10 seconds of quick work.

That makes even less sense. Why should I go earn the money for someone too lazy to do it themselves, regardless of how easy it is?

Because sometimes being nice for no reason is actually a good thing?

Perhaps, but why reward/enable someone else's laziness and bad behavior?

Being nice for no reason would be dropping some influence or a valuable recipe on someone who is not asking for it.

I don't know about you, but the quickest way to get me to NOT give you something is to ask for it. Self-entitled jackholes who think you are required to give them money just because they ask for it get nothing from me, ever.

Vanguard Merits from level 1. Or change the stupid costs on the costume options.
That is all.

I frequently do nice things for others in the game. For example, when I delete a toon, I often convert as much as I can of their possessions to Inf, then find a lowbie with no vet badges and hand it over. I've gone as high as 15 million before.

Beggars in video games are like the people who sit on the sidewalk downtown in $200 ski jackets, panhandling while they smoke cigars. I don't give them anythingeither - They're obviously capable of getting it themselves.

I've had someone give me 2mil inf just because I was complaining in broadcast about being broke. People are generous.
