More heroic heroes, please

I already explained this: Because the nature of the stories that DC tells. There's no final ending. Each ending is a mostly self-contained thing, but the next writer that wants to use the Joker will use the Joker. Killing these characters off doesn't matter because the next writer will still use them.
Indeed it does. Even if Batman can't stomach killing the Joker, I find it hard to think that there isn't SOMEONE around who doesn't have that handicap. No family members of people he has slaughtered? No husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, brothers or sisters of victims who are willing and eager to stick a knife in his gut and 'laws' be damned?
In Batman: Arkham Asylum, he's slaughtered dozens of guards, cops, doctors and other staff and its obvious he's been doing this kind of thing for a long time. Why is he not dead? |
You're looking for a certain kind of narrative that DC tends to not use in their superhero comics. Would it be better or more interesting if villains started getting offed left and right? Maybe. The movies certainly like killing villains off in the same installment they appear, but the movies get around the problem of reusing dead characters by rebooting continuity more thoroughly than DC ever has.

Again, depends on the justice system. As for the one who kills him...then what? You go to jail yourself?
It would be a good solution....IF Arkham didn't have the most lax security on the face of the planet for a maximum security asylum for the criminally insane.
How many times does there have to be a mass escape before they put someone else in charge of that place? The Joker goes to Arkham...and breaks out a week later...and it happens over and over and over. And at least one person dies every time he escapes. At some point wouldn't you just give him a lethal injection instead of putting him BACK in the same place he keeps escaping from? He's killed the equivelant of the population of a decently sized town by now, hasn't he earned the death penalty yet? He's NEVER going to be cured, that should be fairly obvious by now. But nope, back in the nuthouse for a week or two he goes. It defies all logic. |
A regular civilian would be like Batman going one on one with SUperman, without kryptonite in hand...Batman is going to lose.

That is the glory of having MC controllers, they dont "die," they just go into a coma from the barrage of mental attacks
This. And to the OP, have you read the description for the Hellions (the number one purse snatchers)? They dabble in magic and therefore are more resistant to fire. I understand your want of the non leathal options but the game itself already takes steps to help hand wave the burning bodies.

Oddly enough, one of the lowest level mobs in the game actualy comes across as one of the most nasty from the get go; The Skulls.

Those masks aren't papier-mache or anything. According to canon they actually WEAR skulls, from their first victim, the rite of passage to the gang. Their graphics need and update (I think all the mobs from the early game need an update and some, like the Outcasts, need a whole look overhaul.) but they are still, canon-wise, rather evil buggers.
Crey are just corporate backstabbers and slightly shady types. They actually do, on the off, a bit of good at times. Skulls? They're cold blooded murderes and dark magic practioners.
Its a pity the lower level mobs dont get more focus. Cos some of them are very cool.

GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

I don't think you meant to say what you ended up saying. And if you did... Ew!

Although...have you looked at some of the Skulls girlfriends? I...wouldn't be at all surprised...y'know? Kinda..yeah...leaving that alone now.
Damnit Sam!

considering how much of a revolving door death is in comics I wouldn't get too hung up on it if you do consider defeated enemies to have been killed. They'll still be back in time for the next person running the mission to have a shot at them.
@craggy see me on Union for TFs, SFs (please!) or just some good ol fashioned teaming.
This is the reason why I make my characters Anti-Heroes.
They have their own agenda and will take care of anyone in their way.
It just so happens that all the bad guys are in their way.
Sorry

I think the hospital teleports are mostly just for Heroes - kinda like how in RL anyone can buy and use a bulletproof vest, but it's mostly only the cops that use them becuase they're the ones most likely to need them.
And for the villains we defeat, we put a tp tag on them, to take them straight to the Zig - it'd take a shorter amount of time than handcuffing them
Or, the Zig tp can be activated by us when we start a mission, so it'll lock onto the area we're in, like 500 yards all around us, so anyone defeated by us would be picked up by it.
