Going Rogue: My responce to the weak, afraid, and argumentative
total kick to the gut
This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

On one hand, okay, given the way people sometimes tend to roleplay somewhat, they might have reservations, but the arguments about being a traitor are really non-issues in my (possibly oversimplified) vision. IF a villain has gone through changes that eventually have the effect that it becomes apparent he is not a bad guy (going by the MM principle), who's to say he is a traitor? I'd say he is reformed. Not a bad guy, but a good guy who's seen the error of his ways.
Same thing the other way, but obviously that would mean rejoycing by villains that yet another goody is turned to the dark side. Still the same principle applies though. You ran the tunnel, somewhere along the way it had a fork, but whichever end you crawl out of, it's the one that was meant for you. I honestly fail to see why people would, even from a roleplay stance, not allow reformed heroes or villains on their teams. I CAN see those reasons when applied to ITF's though, since even a common goal means you'd essentially side with the wrong ones. No trials laid out, no road travelled, just a different door leading to the zone. Yeah, that would fit better (and has happened to me as well twice over time when on my Brute with 7 heroes shouting in bc 'lf1 more for ITF', ignoring the vills around..) |
RPers will not be the ones to turn you away (Unless they are uncompromising RPers, in which case they are a bad example of the normal RP crowd)
Its these people who have a strange aversion to KB that will start whining.
They really should be focussing on how much INSANE damage the bots do
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

I don't have anything to say about Going Rogue until the day it goes live.

Why MA ratings should be changed from stars to "like" or "dislike"
A better algorithm for ordering MA arcs
I just heard about this new expansion called City of Villains. Its going to have PVP! That means we will see super villains mugging grannies in Atlas Park for their purses, until a super hero shows up to fight for it.
I imagine I'll play around with side-switching but only if it's rigt for the character (and I'm not even a RPer) and I am looking forward to Dual Pistols.
Mostly though I'm really looking forward to the new zones and story arcs. If GR's story and mission content meets (or better yet surpasses) the standard of some of the other newer stuff (the ITF, the Oro arcs, the heroside Midnighter missions) then I'll be a very happy villain.
Yes, villain. I do play heroside, but being able to play redside ATs in Paragon City won't lure me away from the Rogue Isles.
I don't know enough from whats been said/offered so far to complain or promote GR. Hopefully it'll be good! 2 cents
I want to know more about Going Rogue.
Anyone know where there is an officla post for the forums for it other than this one?
I am wondering if there will be a graphical upgrade to the gaem as a whole of you purchase the expansion (hoping for this) I like the art style but think its time for a reskinnin to keep up with the high end stuff coming out now.
I am totally pumped about dual pistols.
Any idea when we might see this on the shelves at the local game shops?

And to be honest, when playing with my SG, I think it makes it more fun because we are constantly having silly back and forths! I remember one time I kept on blaming the my friend's */rad corruptor when I faceplanted because he just wanted to keep blowing me up with Fallout
I think if people start being snobbish about it all I think its their loss!
Personally, I can't find anything not to like about the entire idea of Going Rogue.

I already have a degree in Geology, and two children. I'm going to be getting ripped off, aren't I? Grumble, grumble.

You can always steal a neighbor's child...
That blue thing running around saying "Cookies are sometimes food" is Praetorian Cookie Monster!
Shoot on sight, please.
I fail to see how these two are related.

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

At risk to my vestigial greenpeen, I say that if the new Haloween was supposed to be a demonstration of their new programming and designing power, I am disappointed.
Destroy objects, fight extremely familiar enemies such as Adamastor.
Same sundae on a different plate, in my opinion.

So Jack in Iron and Eochai combining to become an invisible Mary MacComber must have been a fluke.

Given any lack of further evidence, I am assuming the models and GM were stand-ins for the real thing. I might well be wrong, which will be sad if they aren't stand ins.
That said, it IS a free event, on top of ToT and Zombies.

All I know is that if there isn't a single redemption arc villainside that subtly references what happened with Jules in Pulp Fiction, I will be very upset.

I heard you'll use powers to defeat enemies for XP in GR. But don't quote me on that. I think it's just an unfounded rumour, personally.
I heard in GR, we'll be able to make ponies but you'll have to have a 84 month vet badge, have 3 children, a doctorate in geology and a collection of the original G.I Joe action figures.

So if we have blue and red side, I heard the new side will be grey side, but in all logic, wouldn't it be purpleside?
it's Orange side for Heroes going rogue through Manticore
it's Grey side for Villains going rogue through Ghost Widow
at least that's the way it looks in the official trailer
