The forums over there are a minefield of people upset. I got my moneyback for my 6 month sub as I was not interested in paying to beta test the game for them. I am back home to CoX which I find I have a renewed vigor for after playing CO which frustrated me to no end. Apparently they have fixed alot of the issues, but I will not play it again until my 3 months is up here. I may give it another shot then. Now that I hear they have already reduced the price and are offering an additional free month, I am even more put off as I payed alot for the busted verison of the game and only got 1 month of play time which I never even finished as they nerfed my main so bad I didn;t want to play him anymore, and I wasnt about to play through the boring beginning yet again on a new toon. To reduce the price and add addtional play time before the end of the 2nd month is just another example of Cryptic's terrible customer service, and shows they don't care much about how the things they do affect the people paying their pay checks. My biggest issue was the lack of customer service. I dont blame the dev team. I blame Cryptic management. The people running that company have no clue of what they are doing or how to treat customers. Case in point; the HUGE MASSIVE TOTAL improvements to CoX after NC Soft took the reigns.
Anyways, I'll stop whining now...obviously not a good time for me over there. My opinions only others may have had a varying experience to mine of a much more fun nature. -

Nice accomplishment I like tanks and am back after not playing for a while I might give this build a shot. i have never played a WP tanker.... would it work with Invulnerability? I have always wanted an invulnerability/SS tanker.

I forgot to take more progress shots as I put the other bits in there, as it was getting down to the wire before I had to head to work. I made it through the installation of all the hardware without problems, or injury. But I did end up smashing my finger at work, that doesn't count though : p

And everything booted up just fine the first run when I got home, and Vista installed smoothly, if not really slowly >_<

Everything is up to date now, and CoH FINALLY finished installing to my new SSD. I should have been asleep two hours ago, and all I want to do is try out Team Jupiter with custom power colors >_>

This is more of a.. well, it just makes me sad to see the game live up to its full potential for a few bright days and then fall back to the usual doldrums. You couldn't fix it by doubling the xp permanently because that would destroy the draw, and I don't claim to have a solution - I'm just curious whether other people feel the same way about it.
I would certainly like it anways. Now that I am married, and have a different job my lifestyle has changed and I cant devote the time I'd like to this game any longer. heck I used to play every day for several hours and sometiems all wekend long lol. More frequent double XP weekends would make my game time more quality on those weekends, and give me the gains I like to see.

No seriously, I left here amicably the first time I was just bored and not too interested in AE so got into beta testing Champions.

Then the nerd rage occured over on Champions for sure, very frustrating, and nerd rage is not the word for it... no, what I experienced was more of a cataclysmic multidimensional geek explosion is far closer to what I experienced.
Not only that; the community there is nothing compared to what Cox has for a friendly community base. -
yes I do wish I could be a MU, I think theyre cool and tought o fight and would love to play one.
Though the comment posed about the difficulty going to the bathroom could be a concern. I sure hope they have a trap door built into the back of that crazy wrap-up dealy they got goin on. -

I am wondering if there will be a graphical upgrade to the gaem as a whole of you purchase the expansion (hoping for this) I like the art style but think its time for a reskinnin to keep up with the high end stuff coming out now.
I am totally pumped about dual pistols.

From the sounds of things you are all on Victory correct? What time zone 8pm Wed. do you play?
Id probably either have to wait until your next run or play a toon up to the level you are all at currently which might take me a while as I am just back from a long break trying out other games, and apparently am playing like a noob again.
let me know if you wouldn't mind a new member, and I will do my best to be an uunannoying new guy if you let me in to your game sessions.
Id like to make a Traps/Archery toon. I made one on freedom and so far am enjoying the build. -

I was referring to the fact that when I used to log on or put a broadcast out that I was looking for a team, I would get like 10 to 20 tells or invites. I didn't post this thread to bash the game or say COH was dying. Just asking since I had been away for a little bit. Also, as far as catching up on patches, I never had to before because the player community was so awesome in helping. I hope COH community isn't getting like the WOW community (Rude). COH was a game you could just jump in to and everybody helped everybody even on getting up to date. As a matter of fact it I ranked it the best as far as a social MMO. Now the environment seems to be getting less social.

Hey bud, dont take that particular post to heart. I read it and almost left a nasty reply to it. i thought it was a little nasty. Sometimes that happens on these forums, heck sometimes I do it.
Good to have you backin CoX I seem to think the server pops are down too. There's been alot of changes since I left to go play Champions last year, and lets face it the game is aging. Subs might be up according to the NC Soft, but up from when? 1 month ago? 2 months ago? they are certainly down from 3 or 4 years ago, and thats to be expected as an MMO ages, the first few years the pop grows while the game is fresh and popular, the next few years the game server pop slowly declines as new games come out and people move on. heck I left for the better part of a year to try other games and came back after realizing that I was trying to compare all these other games to CoX so I just stopped paying to try other games and came back. its comfortable its fun and now its soloable too. Go to a field Analyst and set it to solo if you cant find anyone to team with and you'll have fun.
P.S. Dont pay any attnetin to the snarky posts with people offering advice on how you can stop annoying them, this is a free country you annoy whomever you want I do and I enjoy doing it. -

AR/DEV is so much fun! My main is a LVL50 and still enjoy playing him.
True that he is not the hardest hitting of blasters but with a little strategic thinking you can solo most anything in the game.
The 2 flame thrower powers have always been my personal favorites and dish out some pretty decent damage. Ones an AoE and ones a Cone so you can do alot of DoT with these powers if used together.
A nice little trick I like too is when your on a team and the controller's holds ware off, if he gets in trouble launch a grenade at the mobs on him and knock them away so he can recoup.
the only power I wasnt really a fan was in the secodnary.... the timed explosive. I could never get it timed right and either went off too son or too late for me, I dunno I never gave it a very long chance and respeced it out after only about an hour of play but it just wasnt for me. However, the proximity mine is totally awesome when soloing. It takes time to place them all but once down you can set up a "corridor of death" as I like to call it and have all the mobs run thorugh your mined hallway and kill themselves off.
Another thought might be to try the new Defender with Traps/AR I made a Traps/Arch def the other day and so far I am really having fun with him. I like the gadgets.

If you want to save her some money the only thing I would change is the vid card. it's a good card but will be a 3rd of the price next year.
I just upgraded my Gforce 7200 to a (9400 GT it cost me $50.00 Cdn and will support basically anything out there I'm going to play on the internet. I haven't seen a game yet that it wont support, even brand new games. It ran Champions Online just fine and the requirements for that game were quite high. Just a thought, some dont mind spending the extra dough for a top of the line card and that's fine it's just my preference to save a little on the vid cards as they can be pricey, and generally come down in price alot within a year of launch.
Also does the case come with a power supply?
Did you decide on a CPU and cooling system?
Throw in a case fan to keep it cool as well and it will live longer. That vid card is going to get hot.
As a matter of personal preference I also like to add in a multi card reader on the front of the case too for camaera mem cards and mem sticks.
Have fun building a system at home is alot of fun to tinker with, and not all that difficult. -
