Dark/Shield Help again

I've been flipping through these builds for the past hour or so, and noticed something. The majority of them have the PvP Unique Glad Armor +Def.....I'm looking to maximize my DM/Shield without using that IO. I was curious if I could even come close to the high end attack chain without that IO? I've tinkered with Mid's as well, and seem to come up short. Any suggestions? This has me stumped for a change... :P

I'm on break from work, but I have a few builds I put together in I18 that run MG>Smite>SL>Smite, has soft-capped positionals, and high DDR. I'll put two of them here to look at, at least to give you some ideas.

This one uses CJ and Mako's in Smite to softcap and has the Hecatombs in MG:

Sorry for the possibly silly question but these builds that have 75% to 85% recharge before hasten can run the MG>SM>SL>SM chain?

I am working on a respec for my DM/SD scrapper and will have 78.5% recharge before hasten but I have the Spiritual Radial Alpha Slot to help recoup some recharge. Currently I run 92.5% before hasten.

You need 234% recharge in MG in order to run that chain, so if you're slotting enhances recharge higher than 88% recharge you will be fine, and there's no such thing as a silly question .

Bear in mind that the PvP IOs are fairly easy to get these days, what with Alignment Merits and all. You also get the benefits of picking them up at whatever level you damn well please, as well as not having to rely on the market for the item to be available. If you're willing to spend the 4.5 billion Inf on those 3 Purple sets in your build, doing Tips and Flashbacks (for Reward Merits) over 20 days should be a piece of cake.

According to how we have been calculating recharge, it's 234.2% in MG, but it's been recently concluded that our understanding of how it works isn't quite correct; so shooting for more recharge than the stated amount needed isn't a bad idea.

Also, to clarify for American Dynamo, when we say you need a certain percentage recharge in a power, it is your global recharge (including Hasten, if applicable) plus the recharge enhancement in the power itself combined.

My next project will be to slot up my dark/shield once my km/shield is finished so I was wondering if you folks could help me out a little. The build I came up with has poor slotting for DC, SD and true grit but I can't see a way of gaining more slots for the without dropping some defence/recharge. At the moment it's softcapped with perma hasten so I was thinking to either go the +damage or +end route for the alpha slot.

It's only a 60% endurance crash, and boosts recovery while its up. As long as you have sustainable endurance without it, you should be fine for AV soloing with it. Mind you, you have to survive while its down as well, so it's not making the job much easier overall.

I have it on my build and I've solo'd a few AVs with it and its actually not bad at all, I just pop conserve power and no worries

Anyone have time to review this build and give me some advice? It's based on one of Santorican's I saw in this thread a while back (thanks man!). Less investment in HO's and PvP IO's than the original. It is comfortably at the positional caps, with somef +Acc and +ToHit, good damage, DefDebuff Resists, and +72.5% Rech.

My only real concerns are Endurance Consumption compared to Recovery (EndUse of 1.89/s compared to 3.43/s Recovery) and I still have concerns about the attack chain using only Siphon Life, Smite, and Midnight Grasp.

I do have the Spiritual Radial boost, which is not reflected in the current build.

Over all the build is good, not too crazy about the slotting in Siphon Life but it'll work. You have enough recharge to run MG>Sm>SL>Sm. I wouldn't worry about having too high of endurance consumption, you're running two leadership toggles, and sprint so if you turn those off when you don't need them you should be fine. I run all of three leadership toggles and usually I'm fine in long AV fights with CP and DC.

Anyway I changed the slotting in DC and moved a slot from CP to CJ to give you a bit more defense overall.

Hi guys,

Looking at your builds i was wondering : what if I want to make one myself with my budget, ie without purples ?

what I was aiming for :
- melee/range/aoe defenses cap
- more than 2000 HP
- "good" regen
- as less as possible end consumption to sustain this build with end-res alpha slot.

I am not mathematician but I believe you will have some endurance issues if you solo AVs or do Pylon runs. If you're aiming to team, than you will have no problem with this build.

This is what I am running on Live currently as I am such a cheapskate compared to Sant, Iggy and Deus. I still can't shake my 'poor guy' mindset from before I started marketeering. The SL slotting is ugly and suboptimal, but the overall build performs very well for a mid-budget option.

I think it meets your goals without breaking the budget too badly. The pricey stuff in it came from AMerits and it seems to run the Spiritual Radial Alpha with zero end issues. I have not taken it for a ride against a pylon so I cannot comment on performance from that perspective. Anyway, maybe it can give you some ideas.

Yeah i believe i could do some AV runs from time to time but i don't restrain me to not use inspirations and i play mostly in teams. I just look for something with enough tricks to be comfortable to play with in most situations.
