I don't know the math too well of the alpha boosts but do you have enough recharge to run MG>SM>SL>SM chain in the second build?

Well, the second build would require the ultra rare to run that chain.

I *think* it should work out, as the ultra rare will add 30% recharge to each attackafter ED, including maxing hasten out.

However, I was actually planning to run

Midnight Grasp/Gloom/Smite/Siphon Life/Gloom/Smite

Which I think requires similar recharge anyway (for gloom).

Part of why I like the first build, I'm guaranteed to run the chain above and could just as easily run MG>SM>SL>SM.

Obviously I'd run the one that was better DPS, but I'm not positive which is the best.

Hey!

Was hoping yall could give my dm/sd a good looking over and tell me if there is anything glaring wrong that i have messed up in my respec of this toon. End is a bit of an issue but typically only when I'm solo and facing an AV. (The cardiac tier 2 = never ending end). What I was also wondering is that with the higher spiritual slot would End be better with liberal use of CP if so would it sustain the end or is this just going to be something I need to test myself?

Thanks for any suggestions all criticism welcome.

Yeah I've compared both builds a dozen times and I think I just prefer everything that build has in comparison to the other.

I wanted as much AoE as I could muster, but as I've been using Shadow Maul in my level up build - I really just don't like it very much.

I also think that while I'll lose out on the bonus healing from Siphon + Spiritual, Cardiac overall will do more for the build.

I recently made a DM/Shield Scrapper myself. I can honestly tell you, if you want certain issues corrected- taking your own build is good...but if you search around for the DM/Shield build of Powerforge, you will find yourself impressed. It just needs to be updated for i19 and then all would be set. I have a copy of it on my comp, but I'm at work right now...

I don't think I see anything I would outright call a mistake.

Your endurance consumptions is a bit high, and even though you have good recovery I'd probably try to find a way to bring it down a touch - that being said the cardiac alpha will probably do that for you.

A few changes you could make:

Since you only have 5 slots there, you might as well go for Armageddon in Dark Consumption instead of Obliteration.

Although I would actually 6 slot DC with Oblits at that point, and 5 slot armageddon in SC.

You can gain a very tiny amount of +resistance (1%) by slotting the Steadfast unique in Deflection - this costs you no extra slots.

If you needed 1 slot for anything, you could remove the +DEF piece from CJ and still remain softcapped. I'd be inclined to use it in Active Defense for a 3rd membrane, or to add an enzyme.

Other than that, it looks solid.

Yea, I realized that armageddon could be slotted after I had posted up this build and since this is how it stands live and will slot it when I acquire the funding.

I have the Tier 2 cardiac and pretty much have no endurance problems plus the extra resistance ~3% is always nice.

As for the other suggestions I like the switching of the steadfast (never realized that /facepalm) and as for the extra membrane/enzyme in AD how much benefit will I get from that exactly?

Also re-ran the pylon with this build and the cardiac alpha for a time of 3:47 (297 dps)

Thanks Dues for the help!

Well the membrane will up your DDR a touch, I haven't checked but probably a few percent (which would then get doubled), could be as much as +6% to DDR - and then ring down the recharge a touch (which you probably don't need)

The enzyme would do the same (more actually), but will also decrease the End cost.

Well done! Only 3 DPS from breaking the 300 barrier, that's amazing.

I doubt my Brute will be capable of that, due to lower numbers from AAO, Soul Drain and damage bonus saturation from Fury.

I debated whether I wanted the top end DPS or if I wanted the added AoE & Survivability from Dark Oblit & Darkest Night, and chose the second direction.

His build is pretty out of date, you'd have to update it for the BoTZ change, as well as I19. Most of the builds posted here are already up to date and some have better numbers then powerforge's build.

Yea, whenever I team I usually use DC as some extra aoe with SC so teaming I have no problems with end (usually buffed as well) even with my travel power running. I just don't want to waste and kill my fodder with the dmg from DC when solo. I'm saving up shards and will probably go for the rare spiritual whenever it gets released and experiment with that since endurance is sustainable with only the Tier 2 Cardiac.

And awesome I got the epic clap gif from Sant, Christmas come early!!!

Greetings! I looked over your build, as well as the revisions the others have posted. Here's my take on the build:

Your original version doesn't have enough recharge in MG to run the MG>Smite>SL>Smite chain gapless, which requires 234.2% recharge.

SL's heal component is under-enhanced - using the 3/3 nucleolus/golgi slotting, as Sant already suggested, you gain 20 HP/attack chain, which wll be more effective regen than having the 12% regen set bonus from the two Numina's that you have slotted.

Smite's damage is under-enhanced, though I understand that you did so in order to fit in two damage procs. Sant almost suggested what I prefer for better DPS. I use the Hecatomb set in Smite, minus the Dam/Rech, plus the Clouded Senses proc - the purple proc in Smite gives it two chances to fire in the top chain. MG gets 5 Crushing Impacts, minus the Dam/End, plus the Hecatomb: Dam/Rech.

In the revision I have below, I also eliminated Maneuvers from the build entirely and removed the purple set from Boxing. SC gets the Armageddon set, Shadow Maul replaces Maneuvers with a full Oblit set, and AD gets a third slot for a 3rd Membrane. So, you lose a slotted Boxing for SM for more AoE capability, which is a good trade IMO.

The third membrane allows AD to double-stack and raises your DDR from 84.12%(when double-stacked) up to 89.59%.

There are a few other changes you can look over. Your gross end recovery is lower, but so is your usage, which actually raises your net recovery by 0.12/sec. Regen is slightly lower, but is more than made up for by SL's increased healing. Accuracy is up from your build, which for SD is a good thing (going from 89.64% to 93.42% vs. +4). You'll have more buffer in Melee and Ranged for Def debuffs as well.

As far as the Spiritual vs. Cardiac... I'm not sure which will work better. With the build I put together, CP only has the default slot for recharge, so I'm inclined to think that the Spiritual would be better, which would also allow for better DPS since SD would recharge faster. I admit I haven't played with the Alpa slot on my DM/SD because I've been obsessing over my two new toons (Claws/SR scrap and Fire/Rad Corruptor), so I would go with Sant's advice on this point.

Here's the build, see what you think:

I finally figured out a way to go with Gaidin's Smite slotting so I am going to give that a try. Two issues with this build is my defense, it is a little low which not having capped ddr I will run into defense issues with debuffing enemies, and the slotting in Soul Drain. I am trying to have around 80% chance to hit against L54 enemies but at 80ish accuracy including global bonuses I don't think that is up to snuff.

Here's a bit of a different approach on this combo...

• 46.1%/46.4%/45.4 – m/r/a defense
• 37.8% s/l res - 72.5% with OwtS
• 23.4% f/c res - 40.8% with OwtS
• 17.1% e/n/t res - 34.5 with OwtS
• 1986 HP with all the accolades - cap with OwtS
• DDR a bit low at 90% with 2x AD
• Accuracy a bit low against +4 but shouldn't be problem with SD
• Endurance should be fine with DC and CP
• Runs Smite-MG-Smite-SL chain
• Should be just that much better with rech/HP alpha

Yeah, something I've been toying with on my own Fire/Shield. Trying to get the most out of OwtS. Getting HP cap and maybe even s/l resists to cap with the proper alpha.

Yeah if you can spare the slots, OWTS is worth slotting IMO. Especially on a DM. The endurance boost will ensure you are near full Endurance when the crash hits, and then DC to full right after.

Ok, made a few changes but I need some critical eyes.

Was re-reading the thread and thought about what Gaidin said while back on LoTG 7.5 in Grant Cover.

0.05 is a tiny amount, but we often chase that much recovery bonus...

Which popped a light in my head as I realized:

  1. I could slot that LoTG in Grant Cover - gaining a slot and then
  2. Slot 2 miracles into OWTS which gives me higher +HP in OWTS than the previous build as well as nearly enough recovery to make up for the loss by having no end rdx in Grant Cover.

Then I slotted a second kismet piece into CJ and ended up with better overall net recovery than I had on the last build I posted.

However, I wasn't completely def capped and was forced to a pretty extreme measure to get it by slotting a 3rd enzyme in Battle Agility (alternatively it could be slotted in CJ, but slotting it in BA grants the tiniest bit more end rdx)

The third enzyme in BA seems like a waste, but I'm stumped how else to get that last shred of ranged def.

A second concern: I have no accuracy slotting in Soul Drain, but I can't see how I could possibly softcap all positions and keep this level of recharge by dropping Gaussian's.

Is 156% Accuracy and +6% To Hit from Kismet enough for reliability against +4 enemies?

So opinions: Armageddon in Soul Drain or Shield Charge? Armageddon and Obliteration have nearly identical damage and recharge numbers, but Armageddon has the better proc. Really it'll only make a difference on pylon runs, but is the chance of proccing on the pylon worth the chance of proccing on stuff that isn't the pylon and that I don't want dead?

I think you can take your pick really.

For general play, SC will be up more often so you'll get a bit more chances for the Armageddon proc to go off.

I doubt that it will ever make any noticeable contribution to your overall killing speed.

I've had it in both and I cannot tell the difference between the two at all.
