Going to start weekly threads next week... Maybe.

Team Hamster ran through the last two arcs in Faultline and then did a full set of safeguards for the 20-25 exploration.

Next week, I'm bouncing between going straight into Striga or running a random / rarely seen 20-25 contact.

Also:
Running Posi and Synapse this Saturday with my Isolator, if anyone would like to join / catch up.

Current target level is 24.

When are you running the TFs?

Fun fun night... our team ended up in Striga and those Council mobs inside the boats were huge. (or so it seemed to a blaster.. lol)

And double ice shields on us = awesome!

I got up to 22, I can make it to 24 before next Wednesday. I doubt I'll be running any TFs with this guy, I'm so not happy that I chose a resistance based scrapper rather than a defense based one.

Who do I have to *&^% around here to get more Targeted AoE recipes added?

Yeah, I had to leave before we finished the 2nd Faultline arc. Oh well. I wasn't able to get them started with everyone else last week, since I started my account not long before Isos started, so it's not like I missed out on any merits. I'm about halfway to 24, so I'm not too far off, at least.

Apparently I was being mean last night. I was chewed out for joking about how much money Shay has now paid to NCSoft because she got her 60 month badge. I thought it was clearly a joke, since we've all paid a lot of cash to them since this all started, but I've learned my lesson. No more joking from Grey Pilgrim... I shall only be serious!

Sonic is pretty good, and it does play much better when you customize the graphics: it's nice to be able to see what I'm doing (though sometimes the "sonic attack beam" would get stuck for a few seconds, it would keep animating, though I could move away from it. Anyone else have this problem?), and I had more fun with it this week than last because of it. Though I still don't know why Defenders have to be quite so anemic with their damage... it's a bit sad that I can't kill an even con minion with my three ST attacks, and the third is supposedly a "hard hitter." I know I can debuff like crazy, it's just kind of annoying that it takes me that long to kill a minion.

My cape mission wasn't too hard, but it quite a bit more dangerous for me to do it solo with a Defender than anything else, I think.

My apologies to the group I was with last night, as my cable went out. I didn't mean to just rudely disappear like that.

"Can play" is not a binary. It's a float.
There are some pretty low values of "can play" out there.

My team ran a couple radios in faultline to ensure everyone was 20. Then we ran through the last two Faultline arcs, ending the night with the last Agent G mission in my queue. I think I'm pretty close to 25 after that run. I suppose I can bump up my difficulty a bit now that I can *actually* resist some damage... Those first two sessions were hell, but last night went rather smooth most of the time.

Yea I had the same problem last night GP.

FX can get stuck in midair like that when you activate them against a target that dies and does not leave a body like Ghosts. Basically, the animation code doesn't know where to send the blast becuse the entity it was using as the other end of the "string" disappeared and the result is the effect just hangs around in midair until it times out. The Nem staff has the same problem.

It's a problem with a lot of powers, but it's mostly noticable on ones that have longish animation times and slow FX that give the target plenty of opportunity to die before the animation finishes.

There was no chewing!! Do not tease unless you expect being teased in return . Though yes I did give you a hard time for not shielding the other defenders :P. You totally deserved it though, traps is SOOOO a melee set .

I was on team B^2 and had a blast lastnight. I was in a kind of crappy mood but then Scooter joined and we had some fun pvping in team chat. I appreciate everyone on the team putting up with my bad jokes and off color comments.

I think Ele may have saved some of that chat log, I'm going to have to ask him for that.

Hi,

I just read some of this thread in the "today's posts" section and I like the sound of this once a week grouping idea.

Would it be alright if I joined your group?

From the sounds of things you are all on Victory correct? What time zone 8pm Wed. do you play?

Id probably either have to wait until your next run or play a toon up to the level you are all at currently which might take me a while as I am just back from a long break trying out other games, and apparently am playing like a noob again.

let me know if you wouldn't mind a new member, and I will do my best to be an uunannoying new guy if you let me in to your game sessions.

Id like to make a Traps/Archery toon. I made one on freedom and so far am enjoying the build.

It's Wednesday at 8pm EST. With the new sidekicking stuff, you don't have to worry about being a bunch of levels behind. I'm sure they would take ya on.

Speaking as a past member, not a current one.

Heh, I'm trying to keep from going to insane about maintaining buffs (they really should last for longer... two minutes is far too short), so I just make sure to keep them on the melee types. Even that can be challenging if they start to drop when we're in the middle of a fight... it's a bit silly to be handing out buffs when I can help drop the boss that's pounding on the blaster, after all. Though I tried to keep them up well after that... still, nothing can save Hammy when he wants to die... he's quite the popular guy with the mobs. I kept trying to heal him, and then remembered I didn't have Pain Dom powers anymore.

I really wish Faultline had more than one trainer or something. It's such a pain that everything is on the north end. I could have gotten my big aura/shield about halfway through the night, but I didn't want to slow things down and go get it. That will help things as well... the next several levels are going to be dead useful, too. I'll get another -res power (though it has a high end cost), my clear mind type power, and then Siren's Song.

This is the exact reason I tend to avoid "buff" toons in Isos. I did a /Kin defender once... Never again. Isos just move too fast, and the constant buff cycle kills me after about an hour.

Eh, it's not that bad most of the time, but I do try to prioritize things to make sure I don't get burnt out. I sometimes wonder if I just don't roll with Masterminds well enough because they tend to buff more often, but I think it's more because they don't attack enemies enough, get in their face, etc.

Sonic doesn't have that problem (I feel like I'm doing more debuffing than I did shooting wimpily at the enemy as an MM), though Defenders are a little lighter on the damage than I'd like. Of course, I do play a lot of Blasters.

But really, I don't mind too much if I don't have shields, etc. from a buffer all the time when I'm on a squishy toon... I figure if I take too much heat, it's more my fault than whatever protection the buffs would have given. It's a little different if there's no tank on the team, obviously, but I'm otherwise cool with it. I know buffing isn't always the funnest thing, even if you like an AT with such powers.

Just a sample of the "pvp" that was going on. Good times

Worst part is I accidently cut out the punchline at the end >:[
