Please, explain how "performance issue" is a lame excuse. Maybe you like playing in slideshow mode, but the rest of us do not.

A line needed to be drawn, to minimize lag while allowing us to have cool costume options. The devs chose to draw it at letting us have only one back detail.

That's the very thing, I never use them. Some characters I make very good use of all 5 slots, but on that particular toon, it's the only costume I ever use her in. Oh well. Typical.

So, because you choose to not do something and cling tenaciously to a particular outfit... the Devs are obligated to make accomodations?

I just don't see that happening.

Also, as an aside, I think the Bolero looks ridiculous in the first place.

Maybe GR will increase the minimum requirements, allowing the devs to increase the amount of rendering time for each character.

Why is there a Nemesis Pony and can it be accessed somehow?

A game is not supposed to be some kind of... place where people enjoy themselves!

You just have to do the same thing as the rest of us have for the past 5 years . . . suck it up and deal (especially since yours was a glitch that was never intended to be allowed). You have 4 other costume slots to play with on that character.
Same here. i have a Scrapper with a costume slot i can never edit because i'll lose his Malaise pants if i do. The same thing holds on a couple other alts that have pieces that are no longer accessible.

One can certainly hope. If they included a graphics update for this game, it would pretty much be the last thing checked off on a "wouldn't it be nice if" wish list I made a long time ago... They've already fulfilled all wishes (including power customization) up to now... This is last on the list! :P

It took me ages to find what you were talking about since there's no "vests without sleeves" option... Now I see that you're right, it's available on about half of the top options (It's not on either Sleeveless Robes or Sleeveless Jackets, which is what I thought you meant).

Of course, since it's literally just the fuzz it doesn't actually attach to anything and looks pretty daft. So we need them to add something that it'll actually match before that can be a real option.

Yeah, sorry, was working off memory. Now that I think about it, it may be the jackets WITH sleeves. Although you can still make your jackets WITH sleeves not have sleeves... for some reason.

Character is a Fire/Storm Controller, but recoloring her fire for her first slot simply isn't an option. There's nothing that can be done about this really, it is how it is.
The Glowing Eyes face still exists exactly as it was back in the day, and it has a special pattern that lets you colour the eyes only. It's somewhere in the Supernatrual section of the faces category. Shouldn't that work?

It's not a lame excuse at all. Your computer may be powerful enough to run NASA Mission Control. The game has to target a larger population.

It always bugs me when I see people talk about a "graphics update." People, the engine is FAT as it is. City of Heroes is already 5 years old technically and over 7 years old in practice. It looks worse than many of the games currently out, and yet manages to run WORSE than almost all of them. Last I checked, the game didn't support SLI setups, any processor over dual core and has a bunch of other limitations, as well. Simply increasing the graphics requirements on a dated engine that's just as likely to just seize up completely is not a good idea, specifically since I don't believe a marked improvement in detail quality will be worth the cost of admission.

Hell, City of Villains, where the art team went berserk, STILL lags my machine occasionally, and I've upgraded it several times since. The game slowly went from blatantly unplayable to pretty slow to just about decent.

Right now, we don't need better graphics and more details. We need whatever kinks are even realistic to be ironed out of the engine so the game can run better on existing hardware. City of Heroes and City of Villains actually have a lot of graphic delight to give, if not for the fact that many people have to shut down so much of it or lag down.

I wouldn't count on Going Rogue increasing minimum requirements. If anything, I hope it makes them more realistic.

So because you like to show off an outfit that nobody can get anymore and not using other costume slots with no valid reason not to (don't even think of saying rp), you want a different way to customize your powers... (see why you shouldn't use the rp excuse here if you were to?). Oh well. Typical.

Unfortunately, the industry has conditioned gamers to expect constant graphical updates in games. Gameplay frequently takes a back seat to visual effects. New games with older graphics are dinged for it, and older games with awesome gameplay are ignored because they look dated.

Except for Starcraft.

Looks different to me, as the new one has a washed-out appearance compared to the old. Actually it's washed-out-looking compared to every other face too, which is why I don't use it these days, except on characters with rather dark skin.

I'll attempt to get a close-up of the original vs a new. That character was made c. August 2004.

Edited: Bah, big d'oh on me, I forgot she's wearing the Reaper shroud thing that covers two-thirds of her face, and her hair covers half of what's left. And I can't go into the tailor to get rid of it for a proper picture without losing her entire outfit, heh.
