you add someone to your local friends list and think spamming "lfaet" every 2 minutes will get them to power level your next failed toon to 50.

Thank god for "Hide" options.

If you don't know what enhancements are (true story)

If you think all defenders are empaths. (same run)

If you think someone who knows how to play the game is God and you follow them around like a lost puppy.

...if you ask what a "minion" is...

...someone invites you to a <insert TF name here> and you ask what number that is...

...you constantly force your spouse to play her lvl50 emp/psy defender with you so you'll always be able to find an AE team...

Incidentally, does anyone have a cure for that last one? My hubby and I may get divorced if I have to play Helestia one more time...and she used to be one of my favorites! :'-(

Actually, I had that one before AE quite often. I made an Ice/something defender that kept getting tells "Ned healor, lft?"

OT: Love the skipping pylons.

So many of these ring true, it's frighting.

While the ideal solution is to grab a few of new people, take them on a tour and teach them things (I know Kay did a while back), the sheer volume of idiocy in overwhelms me.

Before AE it was great to get a new person in a team. Almost every team member would offer tips, advice, explain team mates' power sets (EG heal locations and why AoE merchants hate KB) and tactics like pulling. So even within a few missions a new person had an a lot of info and advice thrown at them. Not just check the forum/read the wiki, but tailored advice. It was helpful to me when I started and I was happy to reciprocate whenever I came across someone later on whose questions I could answer.

Now .. two people with half a clue (notice I didn't say vet badges) and six AE babies .... "sorry I just remembered that I need to polish my emu, gtg".

Kay how did the 'kidnap a new person' go? Is it something that's worth repeating? Maybe one or two new people on a team of eight. One AE mission can get them enough tickets for SO's if funds are their problem.

AE is here to stay and I don't think there's any way to alter access without causing an uproar. So it would be nice to get the AE babes engaged with the rest of the game because I cannot honestly see anyone who sits in AE staying. Admittedly that's no great loss with some of them, but there has to be good people there.

I think I wandered OT:
You might be an AE babe if you have never seen Circle of Thorns.

The Kidnap project got me some results... just a little, but some...

I got at least 3 trying task forces... And a 4th reacted so well that I got him on my SG and from time to time I get him all around... he still plays in AE (and i can understand why, as he is very casual and can only play a little bit every week), but the objective wasnt taking him away from the AE...

I am not interest on closing doors... I want to open then...

This happened to me many times on my TA/A defender (Indigo Shaft).

One said, "Dude, WTF, no heals?" and then kicked me.

sooo, me being the nice friendly helpfull person i am says...

"ummm Atlas park is a lvl 1-10 zone, you MAY want to head to PI the lvl 50 zone for those or ask on the global guardian channel"

reply was...

"whats a global channel?

I left AP shaking my head...Oh and of course posting his search broadcast on the level 50 channel...

A lot of people are starting to head to AP and Cap to form TFs since there's a large population of people there. Me, I still use /search.

And last night, I ran a Synapse with an AE baby-- no vet badges, no idea what to do on a TF at start, etc. He was very good! A blaster by the name of Gigga-Watz or something like that. He freely admitted he leveled his first 50 in AE, but his second toon was being leveled in the "real" virtual world, not the "virtual" virtual world. I was quite impressed. And no, he didn't just stand at the door expecting the tanks to kill all... lol.

But.... you may be an AE baby if you walk through a zone, get an alert that you earned a badge, and got confused.

You might be an AE baby if:
... have no veteran badges, and are giving people advice on how to play their toon, someone who in 13 days will be a 3 year vet..
namely stating that they should have fly so they could stay out of the way, which is sad, because I was the only one not dying. And I wasn't even playing a Tanker >_>
... I get the gist of your ill-formed query as wanting me to join your AE team since I'm a lvl 50 Tank, despite the fact that the RED names in Search are people who are declining all invites.
... you have been to Atlas and don't know what a sewer team is.

These are great, and here's another.
You might me and AE baby if.... you see a lvl 50 Fire/kin who is purpled out solo a farm then try to do it yourself on a lvl 24 Unslotted Fire/ kin.
Epic fail....

Slightly OT, but maybe not. I usually run a TF a day and I try to make it a Guardian channel, Lvl50 channel affiar. But that doesn't always work and I'm good around the /search. On the other night I'm building a team for the one TF or the other I catch myself thinking, and share it with the team.
