But you'll have to be patient. Mid's moved on and no longer continues to work on the hero planner. However, before leaving, Mid's passed the torch to someone else who is currently updating it. I understand Steiner is very close to releasing an update.

Mids works just fine. It really doesnt need to be updated every single issue unless there are major changes to powers. I use Mids all the time...

Actually, I too want it updated mostly because of IO sets. It's a tad out of date.

I've got it with i15 numbers and PVP IOs due to mixing files posted at their board.
A game is not supposed to be some kind of... place where people enjoy themselves!

Alright, major problem here.
Since my laptop had a hardware fail and needed to be rebuilt, I obviously had to re-instal Mids and suchnot.
Now, this version says December 08, as other people have noticed. All well and good.
What ISN'T well and good is that it did update after that, if I remember right. And ALL the builds I managed to save to a HDD will no longer open. The 08 version is also missing a few buttons and stuff that were there before.
Really badly need some help with this...

Uninstall and reinstall build 1.401
If 1.401 is the one that is still on Mids site and all, thats the one I DO have. And my saved builds simply won't load.
If theres a fix, I'd love to know. If not, well, woop de frag...

Ok, problem solved. You really need to download the version from www.cohplanner.com on Titan Network, NOT the one from Mids own site.

hmm i don't get why they don't just make it open source for the community if they are going to give it to some random guy anyway
Mids just didnt offer it off to just some "random guy." My understanding is, he was too involved in other things in RL to continue on with the project. SO, the Titan Network offered to continue his project. And TN decided who would work on it.

I swore to Mids that the code would not be submitted to opensource in anyway... he doesn't want his brainchild getting forked and by proxy possibly a mark against his good name for what he and his service has done for the community. Us developers are odd like that, I would have the same inflictions if I spent hours, upon years working on something that helped thousands. However... Fleeting Whisper is working on a java version that will be cross-os, what he does with his source is completely up to him, just remember that Titan is where it came from! lol. |
Is there any way to open .hro files from the old version of mid's into the program?
When I try open it it says "ExtractAndLoad Failed" (the header of the popup) then an exclamation triangle and "Unable to locate data header - Magic Number not found!"
It says this on all 3 of files I was trying to open :/
