So darn true.. It took me about 3 hours all said and done to do a respec several nights ago.. It was just a very frustrating hassle. I kept looking up at my clock and just getting annoyed with myself for the amount of time I had to waste just to respec.

This is a great idea. I am also of the thought process that there should be a right click option to lock your power trays as they are so you ccan't move the powers around or anything unless you want to and so a respec doesn't fugger them up.

well, you already can lock your powers into the tray so while you are playing they don't get dragged around. so half of your wish is granted.

Everytime I respec, my I have to re-do my power trays. What is your secret?

This is still a good idea

i still have to re-do my tray after a respec to. i was just pointing out that you can already lock powers to the tray through the options menu so they don't get moved around while playing.

We wants it, my Precious.

Though I'm not seriously expecting it in GR. Or I-19 for that matter.

Where to find me after the end:
The Secret World - Arcadia - Shinzo
Rift - Faeblight - Bloodspeaker
LotRO - Gladden - Aranelion
STO - Holodeck - @Captain_Thiraas

Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.

There are options coming to i19, according to Posi, that will likely require quite a bit of re-slotting and general micromanaging of your characters build. So I'm optimistic some update to respecing will happen around that issue.

Well from how they've described the incarnate system it sounds like there's going to be fairly frequent reason to respec.

I sure hope they update this process before, or as part of i19.

*Sneaks in and bumps thread*

When I read the title I was ready to jump in and scream "NOOO!" then I read what the OP meant and am all for this idea... And why does it say I have rated this thread when I have not seen it before now?

The devs are aware of what a pain the current respec setup is and word around the water cooler is they are moths past discussing what to do phase. Could something be in store for i19 and the Incarnate system, with all of it's possible respec heavy needs..

It is an idea who's time has come, honestly, it's a core function for your characters, and so many other parts of the game have been updated before the respec process. Throw us a bone.

That offhanded comment by Castle during GR closed beta last year gave a big lift to the prospect of seeing this old system updated, in fact I got quite a few PMs high-fiveing his quite.
But with Castle gone now and resources likely stretched it's more likely they're focusing on core content with less man time for QoL.

After that beta I really thought Respec 2.0 would be in i19-i20. The possibility with a smaller staff going forward is murky.

This would keep your respec from screwing up your functionality when you exemp down to a low level.
/signed for the Reverse Respec idea. Exemping was one of the first stumbling blocks that came to mind in regards to a Freeform Respec.

So what does this mean? Did all the haters of Freeform just get smacked with the dumb bat?

I also laugh at all the folks who said free-to-play would never happen, fools step aside!

Depends on what your definition of "freeform" is. To me a freeform respec is the ability to change a characters powersets. I haven't heard anything that said the devs are allowing that.

To me it just sounds like they are trying to improve our current respec feature.

I guess we'll see when it happens. I mean folks were all smarty-pants on the "this game will never have FTP" and look what just got announced. They have to draw in the subs and what better way to do it then unleash the unexpected!

Oh I admit I said that about F2P more than a few times myself a few years ago, but as time passed and subs slowly got lower it changed from it'll never happen, to I hope it never happens, to if it does happen I hope they blah blah blah.
