I finally joined the Purple Club today

Got a Ragnarok ACC/Rech Recipe off of Rom today during the last mission of the ITF. First purple ever

Wow, entirely different meaning of the 'Purple Club', even when used in MMO context.

Once upon a time, I played a different game with the initials 'E' and 'Q' made by a large multinational electronics conglomerate that begins with 'So', ends with 'ny' and somehow manages to conceal 'Greedyunethicalprofiteeringmobsters' in the name.

Anyway, in this game, there was a very, very small buffer of 'unconscious' hitpoints, that occurred when you lost all your regular hitpoints. Most people never noticed their hitpoint bar turn purple, especially as they leveled past the area where they could measure hitpoints on two hands. If an enemy over level 2 hit you hard enough to defeat you, they almost certainly tore right past this 5 hp barrier into 'LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...' territory.

However, there were certain clerics and other healers who started keeping lists of people they'd healed who had 'near death' experiences. They fell down, apparently dead, but stood right back up again as they were inducted into 'Club Purple'.

A few cruel souls even made a game of it and let their tank types know in advance that they were going to try to induct them into the 'Purple Club'.

While I may be one of the founding Members of this particular Purple Club, we welcome you.

When I get them now, even thoe its not new... I get suparetardeadstupidexcited...

I always get Confuse purples...

Well, cept that one melee purple, I'm still spending all the profits from that one.

Y'know, purples are really a good incentive for newbies to get the impression that AE will leave them utterly gimped.

I got a Fortunata Hypnosis Sleep/Rech earlier today. Was kinda bummed, but later today I got a Hecatomb Dam/End. Nice turnaround.

As a mind controller, I love how cheap Sleep and Confuse Epics are ;-)

I guess I'm just lucky - I've had 3 purple drops in a little under 8 months, and that's with only two high level characters. 2 of them were over the course of one story arc last week.

Admittedly the story arc was World Wide Red, but still...

I only have one purple piece on one character. I've really only built up one character to the point where they can only improve with purples, and even on that character I'd rather build for +DMG. The one purple she has is a proc.

First and only Purple I got, I gave to a friend who could actually use it more then I could. The purple in question? One of the purple Pet sets, given to my friend's Grav/Rad.

Picked it up on my MA/FA scrapper. Could've probably turned it into Inf, but eh. I was SK'd up in the group - awesome things that I pick up in such situations, I'd rather turn over to someone that can get mileage out of it. Color me weird.

...Is weird purple?
