Why create such a massively powerful cossie creator with so much variation in it only to hamper it with a few more powers left over that still can't be changed? Especially given how relatively few of the pool powers actually need customizing?

So basically, you are saying that because the power you want to customise (Hasten) hasn't been done yet, no one should be able to customise their powers yet.
There are a lot more than a "few" powers left uncustomisable, I make it around 300, and that's not including EATs, and P/S powers which aren't customisable yet because they are technically more tricky (e.g. Granite Armor).

We built this city on Rock and Roll!
We'll get them all for PC eventually, I think - just like I think they'll expand animation choice from MA and SS only to most other sets as well.
But right now, doing all that would impact their schedule way to much - I16 will give players major customizing options for the majority of powers, with the chance to roll it out further during other Issues, just like they've done with power proliferation.

so you get a power choice, but all your primary and secondary ones are already taken? Always? huh, never noticed that before. if this is correct, I apologise. but still, you can theoretically play without selecting many powers from the pools. if there was one with dodgy effects you could pick another one. assuming aesthetics are the main/sole reason for your power selection.
edit: it'd be cool to get weapon/colour customisation on some of the "temporary" powers that we end up keeping as well, heck, why not all powers?
it's the same as power proliferation, they do a bunch of stuff the first time, then get to other ones over time.

There's no real problem with sticking to primary/secondary/APP for gfx - the fitness pool has no gfx (or none that I've ever noticed).
