Bored Phase

I'm also in a bored phase (I know, but the bandwagon looked so comfy) Just did the week back at DDO, and enjoyed it so am thinking maybe in a couple of weeks I could take a months sub there, then when I come back there might be some I15 details that grab my attention or something....... or some news on when Dragon Age is coming out.

NC must love me, I never cancel my sub when I take breaks

I think Jade Empire is possibly the best RPG ever by the way and you should definitely try it ML

Check out the City of Cute thread in the Creative section. I'd have tried to get one myself but Print Screen pasting into Paint from CoX yielded nothing but a black screen because Microsoft only make s*** applications, and I can't be bothered to download something else.

Does Print Screen actually do a copy to clipboard at all in CoH? I assumed it just created the .jpg files in the screenshots directory.

It does both, you can also paste it directly into messenger from the print screen cut

...have you by any chance watched Kung Fu Hustle, Mumsie? I think you'd enjoy it...

And much as I hate to admit it, I've got bored on some occasions with CoH too - but the longest I've been away is two months playing (and being repeatedly ganked on) EvE.

The box under my desk reads like a graveyard of promising MMOs, never to be reopened or mentioned again - plus the late, lamented Deus Ex, which we shall hold forever dear in our hearts, and the rather lamentable DX:Invisible War.

If I "cheat" on COH, it's usually with a book - currently nibbling through Tanya Huff's Blood Ties series and thinking naughty things about Vicki and Mr. Fitzroy. (She's a MUCH naughtier girl than in the TV series... ).

The other thing that makes my laptop jealous is the small but perfectly formed DS, which has recently graced me with the wonderful Lego Batman and the fiendishly frustrating yet strangely attractive Professor Layton (like Myst for kids. And while some of you might think inflicting Myst on kids to be a grounds for calling Social Services, this is very accessible but with a steep learning curve).

Is it time for the dance of joy yet?

Great film, v.funny - had it since release and its thorougly re-watchable and amusing. I especially love the comedic moments of the pigsty alley landlady and her husband as they face off against The Beast. The Lion's roar (complete with fast-burn cigarette draw) should be how sonics portrayed in-game.

Oh it puts them all in the screenshots folder without any of the UI in the way, it's a very cool feature that isn't copied enough by other games. I remembered this about ten seconds after posting.

Thanks folks

Have taken all under advisement. Decided to watch films and the TV series boxsets I havent got round to watching as I was playing this.

Plus I have a cupboard full of older games, like NWN2 etc I may dig out.

NWN 2 is good but not the best of the NWN series i am afraid. Anyway OC better than NWN 2 expansions... at least not as boring as Storm of Zehir.

PS: A little thing, D&D's new god Zehir's name in Turkish means "poison/venom". How fitting, eh?

Posted

Actually NWN2 was far superior in both story and atmosphere too NWN imo (the 2 major points that make or break an RPG for me). NWN felt very lifeless and sterile to me.
That is of course up to the point where I've been able to get. I never actually finished NWN2 because of the freaking shed load of bugs that the game STILL has years after release.
Corrupted save games, quest items not spawning, Crash to desktops, Grobnar mysteriously vanishing, one of my mages merging stats and appearance with his familiar(!!!), critical npc's refusing to talk to me ...
And to think that I waited with buying the game till the first expansion got realeased, since I figured they would have fixed the numerous bugs that all the reviews spoke of by then. 5 attempts to start the game from scratch in the past year or so and still I haven't got past act3 before giving up due to frustration or corrupted save games.

Play bad games.
They make all the qualities of CoH/V seem so much better after a while.

What? It is true you know... Do something extremely boring and dull and something that is less boring and dull will seem alot more fun.

Eeew, what were you doing with the poor thing?

I loved NWN2 as well, enjoyed the campaign far more than the first one (which is a snorefest). Was replaying it right up until a critical NPC vanished and left me stranded. Bah!

Bought the first expansion too but the framerate was so awful I didn't even manage to try it out (stupid thing). Dunno what Obsidian did to the graphics engine, it's truely rubbish.

Bah! - Obsidian! *scrunches nose in semi-digust.
The rushed mess that was KoTOR II on release, the semi finished story!, all of the story and sfx left out because of time constraints and pressure by LucasArts to make the fall release....DON'T GET ME STARTED on KoTOR II !!!

whoopsadaisy - too late.

All NWN 2 lovers try Storm of Zehir and talk again.

Also NWN OC can't be boring... one word for you... Aribeth. Hmm well Sharwyn and Tomi, too. Well and Valen...

Yeah Moms... Obsidian! Bah!
