You know what, I'm going to log him tonight and have a look just to end the speculation. I'd imagine "About 100" will still cover it though

I'm still waiting for the update where Super Speed feels more super speedy (How about some cool blur or something too?) and Flight speed is enhanced to the current Super Speed velocity.

It will probably never happen, but if the Flash can run to the North pole in less than an hour, I should at least be able to run the length of Steel Canyon in 10 seconds.

I think they can't make SS faster due to engine limitations. If I recall correctly, anyway.

My Dom hits SS cap at 92.5mph but set bonuses will be able to push that a bit higher. And the temp movement speed buffs might do similarly.

Yes, I also recall reading in a dev post that making SS significantly faster would result in nonstop rubberbanding as the network couldnt keep up.

Yeah, but thats pretty much all the Flash can do, and in the grand scheme of things being able to reach the North Pole in 10 seconds is pretty useless, unless you have a pizza delivery job and Santa as a customer.
On the other hand being able to do all the cool stuff your character can do AND run at 100mph is pretty nifty!
Flight speed is pretty naff though.

There isn't a SS cap, there's a global runspeed cap, and nothing will take you past the runspeed cap, that's why it's the cap.

Unslotted SS + Set bonuses will get you to the cap, but not one cm/hour past it.

It actually could. I could see it very useful for a spines scrapper for positioning easily.

Hmmm... Might actually get hover on my spines/SR. Swift + quickness + hover buff sounds great.

It'll make it more useful for melee AT's IMO, but since autofollow on flight/hover still doesn't get you into melee range easily, it'll still not be as easy to use as Combat Jumping.

All the above my opinion only, since I've not tested flight/hover with melee for a long time. The I13 increased ranges on melee attacks may help to combine well with Hover's speed buff, they may not. Going to require some actual testing.

I have Hover on melee toons all the time. My first and only 50 is a hoverer. The only problem I had was the animation, and they fixed that a while ago. Now my account has a a fair few toons who don't even bother with footwear anymore.

Either way you put it, it becomes an opinion.

slotted Swift + hover is around 24-25-ish mph fly speed. Which to me is fairly quick. It's faster then not using sprint, because i personally never use sprint in a mission, it's an awful end hog.
If i make a melee char with hover, i will slot out swift and hover so that it becomes as fast as possible. I'm not a fan of toggling powers on and off while in a mission. So to me hover is already worthwhile. Perhaps with this change i'll need less slotting in hover, or i'll just take the speedboost and become quicker.

well this just made a load of blasters (and my MM and Rad/Sonic defender) very happy hearing this news...finally I'll not be as slow as wandering though knee high molasses while using hover

My guess is that's one of the main reasons for buffing it. So it is to be hoped.

It's always struck me as somewhat incongruous that melee toons can't work effectively with hover given the number of comic characters that have melee based powers and an ability to fly.

So it is to be hoped.
