Actually, our forum moderation is still done from Brighton, for a little while longer at least.
But still, it's hardly a reason to derail threads, is it? If you guys want to play Mornington Crescent, you could at least use your own thread for it instead of wrecking an important thread...

Actually, what you see as derailing a thread is something which I see as being fairly positive. In light of what happened last week (and the way we were treated) surely this is an indication that the community is starting to heal? It wasn't just a 'game of Mornington Crescent' for me, it was a big bloody sigh of relief!

Sorry, it's just that humor is the way I deal with situations and I tend to take it very personally when someone admonishes me for doing so.

The station most definetly does exist, one stop south of Camden Town on the Charing Cross branch of the Northern Line. They tried to close it and it caused a large uproar, due to the game. There is a plaque in the station to the creators of the game.

Mornington Crescent was shut for a very long time and left with the lights off and off the map. It is often referenced in Robert Rankin books as being the offices of the Ministry Of Serendipity. Then they ruined the references and the game by reopening the station. The cheek of it. I think it was shut between 1992 and 1998 but don't quote me on those dates

All future EU meets will be held in the US. Since people had to travel to get to them anyway - they may as well travel somewhere warm and sunny

Position's in the US are hardly surprising.
Well, apart from most of teh A.net people being the board of NC, there is no direct link between them (also refer to the games, GW, SC and diablo - keep in mind SC2 and GW2 are comming)
The other 2 links however are weird, non have stated to be able to write german or french.. possible doom?

It's a restructuring operation, they're moving alot of their operations into a centralised US location. Recruitment in the US is then not surprising.
