Task Force/Strike Force Changes

These are a mixed bag compiled of some changes to the current Task Forces/Strike Forces.

Imperious Co-op Task Force

Take out the shadow cysts

Remove the number of Shadow Cysts to 5. Reasoning: 10 shadow cysts makes this mission tedious and boring.

Retake Cimerora

Tone down Romulus' HP and Damage a bit. Reasoning: So Romulus can become easier with unusual and slightly weaker ATs/powersets.

Positron Task Force

Track down the Clockwork minion

Remove it. Reasoning: It's boring, pointless, and it makes the Task Force unnecessarily longer.

Numina Task Force

Investigate the disappearance of Scout

Replace this with anothe mission that DOESN'T involve Scout. Reasoning: Why does he need to act so dramatic? There surely must be a easier way to find out about the Woodsman?

Virgil Tarikoss Strike Force

Find Method to Pierce Barrier

Remove this mission. Reasoning: Can't he not go and get this himself? Is it really that hard?

But seriously, the reason you want to take these out is either some minor storyline reason or just because you think it's too hard, as far as I can tell, and we have enough threads whining about the lack of challenge already.

I didn't say tone it down to a level where it wouldn't be a challenge. I said a bit. For a few teams that TF is bordering on impossible.

Oh, and yes, I was on a ITF last night. That failed. At Rommy.

And, by the way, if it's a change to a minor stroyline, why you taking it so badly? I thought people wanted Posi TF less tedious and boring, but oh well, you can't please everyone.

You know, only a minor percentage of people post and actively read on these forums. Therefore, a lack of challenge cannot be represented as the general opnion unless we take a game-wide survey.

About the ITF TF. No changes are needed. It is a tough one but it can be done with a healthy mix of toons. Only thing that would be nice is if they could make lag hill less laggy.

About Posi. This one can be quite challenging but it takes way way way to much time. Throw out half the missions.

Same things go for the other early TF's

Things I really miss about TF's?

A souvenir.
And the possibility to read the debriefing and pre briefings. We are only getting half of the story here.

ITF is fine.
Posi is too long, but it used to be two seperate TFs which were baked together sometime before it was released.

I would like to add that the amount of crystals on the ITF mission that Phantom's mentioned adds a little bit of epicness to the story.

Its one of the finest TF and better challenges of this game, devs you did well. but can even become better with less lag

And yes, the shadow cysts are epic, a great challenge - but does there really need to be 10 in one cave map? And yeah, fix the lag.

I have done Romulus in a trio - my Fire/Ice Blaster, an Ice Tank and a Fire Tank. No debuffs, no-one healing, no control to seperate him from his fuzzballs of joy. If you are honestly unable to do Romulus there's a bigger problem than his HP or Damage.

I probably haven't done the ITF as much as others but I will honestly say that sometimes I will be virtually screaming at my computer because Rommie just refuses to die and other times when he has dropped like a lead weight!

Sometimes I can't honestly tell what's going on that makes it work/doesn't work so I say leave it as it is.

That goes for me as well. I am always stunned when we take him down. But one thing is for sure. Every time I succeeded in taking him down was when a few of the people leading us knew what they were doing.

See that mission as a warning. If you keep dying in that cave then you wont be taking out Rom either.

Yes, Rommy is a godawesome swine. I actively want to trap those Nicti minions of his in a really, really bright place and burn them for the rest of eternity.

That said, its one of the cooler TFs, and is fine as is. Well, except for the lag

On ALL TFs, please dear GOD cut out some of the Hunt missions! Hunt missions are boring! People do not WANT to go and find x number of so and so. A prime example is the Leviathan SF on Villains. The middle chunk of the SF is HORRIBLE. Three Longbow hunt missions in a row, adding up to 50 longbow. This is usually on a malafactored team, so the Longbow that you HAVE to hunt are higher level. As in, red minion style higher level. And fifty of them. Which is so irrevocably DULL.
Oh, and give Villains a lvl 40-45 SF. Please?

Intresting then, I don't die in it, and we still can't take down Rom.

But that still doesn't answer the question - is 10 REALLY REALLY needed? Or is it some excuse to make the TF longer?

Oh, and for those who are saying "Don't nerf Rommy, the game is too easy" - 'the game is too easy' has only been positively said by some people on this forum, so frankly, that's not enough to warrant not putting Rommy down a little bit. I am not saying nerf Rommy so he is not a challenge for anyone, make it so he's that little bit easier for the unusual/weaker mix of toons yet still a challenge for a l33t mix of toons.

Oh and yes I'd like to see some hunt missions removed - although I'd keep Numina's hunt missions there, it encourages tactics and teamwork and it fits in well with the storyline.

I'm sorry to use the cliche but you can't have your cake and eat it too. It's one or the other. I think this is down to personal preference, you think ITF is too hard, i think it's just fine and love doing it. If your going to make a suggestion at least make one objectively with a view all around rather than one based solely on what you want. The reasons you give are quite minor in terms of how it affects the game and seem to be more about what you want.

I want giant bunnies stalking around the place eating those damn annoying pedestrians so i can watch and laugh, but just because i want it doesnt mean it would be good for the game and/or everyone else.

Its not a hard or even that long mish. On top of that it is a mish full of khelds and unique in TF's, i see no reason at all to change this mish. I love it.

No and No, its more of a challenge but with some practise it aint even that hard. Done this with several un-orthodox team setups.

Posi TF might need a makeover but this is far down on any change i could think of.

Your other changes are based on the storyline and i dont see the point tbh. Maybe change them but not just jank them out.

How much would be good then? 8? 4? 1 perhaps? You could argue about any number. 10 is as good a number as 5.

It is a good thing that there are a few challenges out there that require good teamwork, good tactics and yes good teams. Even now people are complaining that ITF is to easy!!

There are loads of TF's left that are good to do for a team that cannot tackle big Rom. But there is just one ITF.
