The Origin of Aliens
If an alien can do things that seem supernatural to humans, but every other member of his race could do, he's Natural.
Superman is Natural.
[Edit] As a matter of fact, I think this is specifically mentioned under the Natural Origin in-game description.
Statesman mentioned a couple of years ago that Aliens come under Natural. Superman would be Natural, as any Kryptonian that came to Earth would have his powers.
Technology doesn't have to be human Technology, Warshades are Science due to their Nictus origins (Who are Kheldians modified with Science to absorb life force)
An alien who differed from his fellows genetically would be a mutant, and who says aliens can't utilize magic?
Natuarl is natural to whatever species you are, it in no way implies human. I think it actaully mentions aliens in the description of the natural origin. Hence Superman is a natural origin kryptonian.
Same with technology, there is nothing in game that implies human technology or that it is used by a human.
I really should do something about this signature.
Well, if you're stuck on the Origins, it might be worth considering where your Alien would stand on others. We assume that an Alien would be technologically advanced, so that would open up Natural (to them), Tech or Magic (third postulate of Clark's Law) - but what would seem Normal to us would be Alien to them. The whole world gets topsy turvy, and what if the Alien isn't technologically advanced, but ended up in Paragon as a fluke? Our Tech would seem like their Magic, and what if they don't believe in magic? What if they think it's demonic possession, or something akin to it? They's run away from Paragon to somewhere they could fight the Demonic menace, and that would put you in the Rogue Isles.
I think that over-thinking the Origin could be fraught with potholes, really. Just go with Mutant. Everyone loves a Mutant!

Not in the X-Men universe
Thelonious Monk
Examples:
Peacebringers are Natural Kheldians. Natural here meaning perfectly normal alien compared to fellow members of its race, not 'unpowered human'.
Warshades are Science Origin Kheldians, who have modified themselves to siphon the life out of regular Kheldians to increase their own lifespan..
A Rikti Magus is a Magic Origin alien (dur, it casts spells) - though, as a Rikti, not a space alien, but a dimensional alien. I guess they're close enough to count.
The Rikti Four Horsemen are Science Origin aliens, again, due to accidental genetic modification when they entered our world through their portal. And/or Technology, arguably, as they're piloting Assault Suits.
Can't think of an in-game example of a mutant alien off the top of my head.

The Lost? Even though technically they are human, who have been mutated by whatever it was that mutated them.
Make an alien whatever you want.
Personally I've never liked the way that most people talk about mankind as if we're special and outside of the natural world - human technology is only smart apes doing what comes naturally. Unless you have supernatural religious convictions - in which case it's magic, unless you see omnipotent, omniscient gods as an entirely natural state of affairs. And I guess that Darwinist evolution relies upon mutation...
So, again, make an alien whatever you want - finding a justification for whatever you pick should be easy enough.

Nope, they are Science. The difference being that Lost were human (natural) and are being changed by an external force. A mutant was born with their mutation.

i done a alien and i put his orgain as sciences due to the fact he was brought though a portal and was being studied on and was killed in the process or so they though..... so they dump his body in the trash where all their failed experiments are dumped. after a while he awoke to see what had happen to him and see that some of his body was in pieces and some things were missing, he took what ever power he had left and shifted though the experiments putting together a body suit. After his 1st body suit he been going around collecting more part to add to his suit to make him more powerful and a way to find a way home
well that my aliens story, but i guess you can make a alien have any orgain really..... you can have one there are technological advanced then earth is.......magic one from another relem......natural to them but 10 time hard then anything on earth......science either clones or upgradde with implants here and there.....Mutation i guess they could of fell into a toxic waste dump site

I guess I couldn't reconcile in my own mind that an aliens origin isn't necessarily any of the choices that we have; primarily because the 5 choices we have are humanocentric - technology and science seem (despite the Rikti) to be based on human tech/science

Uh....I don't understand how you can't easily look at it from the aliens perspective. Is it different from its own species via a process of scientific Hulkification, being a mutant freak, using magic or technology, or is within the accepted normal genetic boundaries of that species.
It's easy to imagine if a bear is a huge scientific experiment, a mutant bear, a magically empowered bear, a bear inexplicably in a suit of power armour or just an angry bear. So why not the same for an alien?

The very origin of the Carnival of Shadows is based on a mutant:
"but at the age of 15, Giovanna learned she was special"
But then the whole mask thing is magic based.
So really they have two origins.
Bit like my toon Mind's Arrow - he is listed as Science, but really has aspects of mutant and technology as well.
And Black Karhu is a science Bear Hero (Karhu being the Finnish for bear). He got his powers from experiments with bears
I was playing around with the character creator the other day - I'd got a concept for an Alien character - but I couldn't ultimately decide what Origin to make my AT and this became such a sticking point.
I guess I couldn't reconcile in my own mind that an aliens origin isn't necessarily any of the choices that we have; primarily because the 5 choices we have are humanocentric - technology and science seem (despite the Rikti) to be based on human tech/science,
Mutation doesn't work for me either because they could be "normal" in their own type.
Similarly Natural gives us a natural, human emphasis, but it could be "natural" for them too I guess. It just seems a bit... "lumpy" for want of a better expression, but this is perhaps the closest I can come to.
Magic Aliens? Nah... that just makes me itch.
Sure, you could have an alien race who encompass all the 5 characteristics... and I'm not even certain if we should have an "Alien" origin, but I'd be interested in the thoughts of any of you who have played off-world or extra-terrestrial characters.
