Purple recipes

Just want to ask: can we buy those rare purple recipes with Merits?

Very good for me as I had 5 drop on Saturday. Which is weird as I was moaning on global that I hadn't had one drop for weeks.

I am never sure what prompts a purple drop

It seems far more haphazard than most stated occurences

Nothing "prompts" it. Purples drop the same as any level 50 pool A drops, but with a very low probablility.

any level 50 and higher enemy "can" drop them but the rate is insanely stupidly low

Any level 47 or higher "can" drop a purple.

Never hear of anything lower than 50 dropping them.

Most if not all of my drops have been on lower characters side kicked up to a fifty, either way fighting higher than level fifty mobs.

Have had purple drop from +48 mobs. Cant remember which purple.. but it was purple

I've had a purple drop on a level 45 fighting 47's. So they definatly drop from lower than 50's.

Was Absolute Amazement, sold for some odd 9 mil i think when i got it.

It is anything that can drop a level 50 recipe.

Level 47's can drop a level 50 recipe, since mobs can drop recipe's around their own level, rather than just their own level.

I don't know how it picks the level to drop them though.

Yeah, id love that trick...Never had a single purple. Rarest thing was a part of Scirrocos. -le sigh- Its not for want of trying, either.

I think I read somewhere that salvage and recipes are set for each mission. Thus if you farm alot, less items for you personally. Which for me is very revealing (but i dont farm to get recipes/salvage, but getting that kill influence).
Ofc that means I simply was lucky some time ago (2 purples when doing LGTF on invic)...

Never had a purple recipe with my 50's. Purple recipes are something that happen to other people.
