2 Things need sorting for Halloween Event 2009

Basiclly 2 Things that have really [censored] me off this year and I'm sure afew people.

Chance for Spirit spawns when clicking on doors: This has to be the most boring thing i've had to try and do for such a long time, since about 9ish this evening I have been soloing Trick or Treating in Brickstown on my Blaster and I havent seen 1 Spirit, and the worst thing is I need 1 or 2 more for there Badge.

So please sort that out and 2ndly..

Jack In Irons Halloween Spawn: OK I know he is Not meant to be easy to get but 10% Chance of spawning after Eochai is defeated is some what of a Joke, many of times on Heroes i've tried to get teams together to try and make Jack In Irons spawn and many times we have got threw about 4 to 5 Eochais and it just ends.. they dont wanna carry on because he is Taking so long to spawn and they end up wondering off to do other stuff.. now i'm not saying a 50% of spawning after Defeating Eochai but even 25% is better than 10%.

My Thoughts anyway.

imho trying to spawn Jack In Irons wasn't as bad as Spirits

The Spirit spawn rate is bugged, apparently.

And as for Jack, I think it'd be a little better if the spawn chance went up 10% each time - like defeat Eochai once, 10% chance Jack spawns, Defeat Eochai twice, 20% chance Jack spawns, and so on - so that you'd only have to fight Eochai max 10 times before Jack showed up.

I was on a team in sharkhead and i think it took like 11 eochais to finally spawn him. Luckily we were more than 1 team. I think it's too random.

Another thing that could use a little tweaking. The zombie Spawns. I think it would be better if they don't spawn in more then 1 area at the same time. Also lower the frequency a lot so we keep interested in doing them until the end of the event. It is a shame that the spawns don't get the attention they deserve anymore.

My suggestions for next year...

1. TEST THE BLEEPING THING PROPERLY BEFORE STARTING IT ON LIVE!!!
2. Take NPC's off the street, same as a Rikti invasion
3. Shorten the attack length, it's too long
4. Chain saw hand temp power plx!

It seemed fine to me though the space between sky going red and first zombie crawling from the ground seemed to take ages ditto for the end the zombies stopped showing up long before the sky returned to its normal color

Sorry, I'll be more specific. Take CIVILIANS off the street... Instead of just driving/walking around like normal. It's immersion breaking. Have NPC mobs FIGHTING the zombies (in a non-damaging way).

I think NPC do fight the zombies. As the trick or treat spawns will fight the invasion zombies.

change zombie apocalypse to zombie infection for year round undead goodness:

zombie attacks low level hellion, wins, hellion becomes 80% zombie, 15% lieutenant (revenant?), 5% corpse...

Lieutenants: 60% zombie , 25% lieutenant, 10% boss , 5% corpse

Boss: 15% Boss, 50% zombie, 30% lieutenant, 5% EB

EB: 55% zombie, 30% lieutenant, 10% Boss, 5% carrier

Carriers: a carrier is not a combative creature, instead is find a cemetary and burrows into the ground where it gestates and infects the corpses around it spawning 1-10 zombies after a random interval.

once 10 bosses are created, apocalyse starts and continues until the 10 bosses have been hunted down (which isnt too hard as they seek out heroes for some super powered munchy goodness). Once apocalypse starts, EBs have a 5% chance of being spawned from each kill a Boss makes.

During this time, the zombies rampage, attacking random mobs and adding to their horde (hmmm, zombie Lusca anyone ? )

difference from the current setup:

The zombies dont spawn, they are on the map as generic mobs hostile to all factions except their own.

Zombies are always around , they just have varying degrees of scarcity.

Zombie levels are tied to the mobs they defeat and the zone they spawn in. (only blue or higher count toward badges)

Zombies can be herded

Depleting the zombie food supply depletes zombie growth rate.

Personally I'd love citizens to be targetable by zombies for conversion to low level plague carriers.

I completely agree here. It was run for 1.5 hours back in July (and on US side only) which isn't near enough time to see if it's working properly since:

A) The cycle between invasions is longer than that, making it impossible to see if new ones are starting correctly

B) With the zombie invasions going on, I bet not a lot of people went knocking on doors to notice the spirit spawn rate problem

C) Limiting it to such a short period of time probably meant that over half of the players that wanted to test this never got the chance, thereby reducing the feedback from it

It really should have been run for 2-3 days, preferably over a weekend. Then they could have had lots of time to fix the problems instead of just saying "thanks in advance for your understanding"

I got into a little trouble with the zombies at one point so I ran towards some grey Warriors who ignored me but beat the hell out of the spawning zombies.

My Villain has one as well. Don't think it has holy shotgun shells in it though.
