I would be a little miffed but I havent come across any names I have that others have gone for. I would not stop playing something because of something like this.
I would cancel and make a full move to WAR.

Depends how many of my mains I lost. It would end it for some of my characters and if it was too many then I'd let my sub go. Also I paid to get one of my names back having lost it recreating the character so clearly the names do matter to me

It would be a shame if i had to change names but it wouldn't stop me from playing the game.

I think having the headline in the gaming world "NCSoft forces people to change their Hero names" at any point in the next year would be really dumb, since the competition can then just go "Come to our world, you can have your name and keep your character (more or less).
It would (in my opinion) be a fairly stupid thing to do just as the competition is arriving.
I'd have to admit, I'd keep playing, but only because of all the characters I care about, I have their names on the other server, so would find it quite easy to delete the one I did not want.

If I lost any char name except my main I wouldnt be overly bothered - but if my mains name were to go then I would leave (amid great cheering from the missus)

Cancel. I'm Zortel in game. My first ever character was Zortel, same as in Beta. My first ever 50 and only 50 is Zortel. People know me as Zortel on other parts of the internet. Heck, people know me as Zortel or Z in real life.
The name is a major part of that character. Zorielle Rolando, Tessa Lenson, creators of the suit and the company that made it, named ZorTel as well. She's been Zortel for three and a half years now. If she wasn't Zortel anymore, and if I didn't have that as my handle, it'd set my teeth on edge.
Fusebox, Cauter, Cindersnap, Alraune, Madame Midknight, The Moral, Storm Sapphire, Jan Boa, Number Nine, Lyrical Cyclone, Quickfrost... all names that have history or character, and complete them and make them more enjoyable as a whole. Heck, one character even makes fun of the system. Arrow Azure is a second generation hero. His father's ID was Azure Arrow, but when the 2nd moved from the LA to Paragon, someone there had already taken it, so he gave in and opted for Arrow Azure.
i would fight the Dev team if my main toon were to..die per say but i would leave...or make the name stealer leave Muhahaha

Most of my names are so good that they are unique and in no danger of being taken by others. But it probably will happen to one or two of the more obvious names. Thats a shame, I would try to make a nice vatriant of the name that would satisfy me.
I would NOT cancel my subscription because of this.
BTW, to any of those objecting. Have you tried to see if your names are taken allready? I sincerely doubt that a lot of you will face that problem.
As a result of removing a nasty discussion chain within this thread a large number of posts have been lost. Unfortunately there were many posts within the reply chain that were not part of that discussion and they have also been removed due to the clunkiness of the forum moderation tools available to us.
