no brainer with cyborg pack?
You can't be ressurected after the Self Destruct. Hospital or Base.
There goes most of your argument.
Besides it's unenhanceable (so, y'know, base acc), kills you and can only be used every 60 minutes out the box. Plus you have to wait 10 seconds between clicking it and it exploding - I doubt any mob that'd be troubled by the 500 odd damage it'll inflict will still be around after those 10 seconds are up.
I haven't been having any trouble with the servers at all over the last few weeks.
The only time I've been disconnected is Tiscali (insert a selection of colourful swearwords here) are a rubbish ISP and I'm so thankful i'll be rid of them next week.

Then that is probably a bug.

I suspect it might be a last-minute change to prevent people from being stuck if using the power in a Mayhem or Safeguard mission.
I bought the Booster Pack and I'm quite happy with it. Cyborg parts may be an aquired taste, but I thought they'd look neato on my Robot/FF Mastermind.
Shoot, I'd fork out the money instantly if they were to offer a Booster Pack consisting of nothing else than the belt Candy Lebeaux wore in the story arc from Twilight's Son. It would look right wicked on my Scrapper!

The hospital prompt works fine for Mayhems/Safeguards... it just send you to jail/an ambulance trolley instead.
It really is rather rubbish as an attack, too. 10 second activation time, not interruptible so you'll just end up looking stupid when the mobs get killed within those 10 seconds anyway/you get killed before you manage to blow up/the damage fails to kill them. And a huge recharge.
Yup, in the 10 second activation time either everything is going to be dead, or you will be dead before the countdown completes.
And then you have to wait an hour to do it again.
Its a useful power but very situational.
I really should do something about this signature.

I was about to write that it might have been to correct an issue with people still being quite inanimate after resurrecting in jail or at the ambulance trolley, but apparently this is still happening sometimes on the live servers. Oh, well ...

Yes, the explosion power was, indeed, a no-brainer... i.e. it's a glorious roleplayer griefing tool which the developers have handed to every jackass who chooses to buy it. We can but hope the novelty wares off soon.

I doubt that was the first thing that popped into everyones head ... oh i know lets go to d's and grief some role players.
You just given them the idea by mentioning it

How is it a glorious role player grieving tool?
I bought it, I don't actually have an android character but fancied mixing and matching the items. The self destruct is probably just for fun to complete what an android character can do.
He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.

To me this pack seems rushed because it was leaked, theres a fair few bugs with it already. I know the information about it was leaked so they released it early but is that a reason to sell a half done product?
[/ QUOTE ]
It was not released early because of the leak. The leak happened because the store was being prepared for the release of the pack, which happened on schedule.
The bugs with the pack that you mention are already fixed in an internal build.
If you'd been at Galaxy Girl last night, you'd have seen.

Hee hee. Peeps is asplodie all over the place!
Since the timer is set to an hour recast there must have been tonnes of people doing it to ye for it to be a nuisance, its not like one person could spam it (compared to say running up and doing the Pumpkin emote over and over, or just unleashing all their normal powers at you).

It's my professional opinion, as someone who writes software for a living, that it was a mistake to release this pack with said bugs. They really don't instill confidence in future booster packs, especially as the wedding pack was ALSO buggy.
These are not issue updates, they're pure eye candy. There is ZERO reason to release them until they work properly. You'd think NC would have learned this by now...

Mmhmm. The boombox is just for fun, but the standard RP griefing mechanism is to stand in between two talking characters, drop a boombox and stand there like a moron.
Just think how much fun it is when people keep wandering up and exploding in the middle of your roleplay. The really good ones think it's okay if they spend twenty minutes roleplaying that they're going to explode, without any way for anyone to stop it.
When I can afford to, I'll likely buy the pack, but the stupid power is something I may try out once to see the animation and that's about it.

Well, you're very, very, very late, and you will be petitioned, with a comment to the GM that this was a known, planned action specifically intending to grief (see forum thread blah blah), if you do it while I'm there. So I'd suggest not.

The bugs weren't found until after the pack was released - I can assure you that the NCNC folks felt that it was ready to go. It's common for bugs to not manifest themselves until after the code has been released. One reason is because thousands upon thousands of players are more likely to do things the QA team didn't think of / didn't have time to do, and another is because - try as hard as we might - the testing environment is not identical to the live environment.
If these issues had been known about before the pack was released, they would have been fixed before the pack was released.

To me this pack seems rushed because it was leaked, theres a fair few bugs with it already. I know the information about it was leaked so they released it early but is that a reason to sell a half done product? Im praying it doesnt become common now like the server disconnections and lost mapservers since i12.
But the main reason for this post is: give everyone who buys cyborg pack a nuke? come on.. what were you thinking???
not only does it give anyone in a team with a healer a chance to nuke now, and be brought straight back to life, it also makes tanks, scrappers, brutes and stalkers a lot more powerful, yes it kills them, but self res straight after and your nothing worse off besides maybe a little debt.
Yes it can only be used once an hour but still it seems like its devalueing damaging ATs a bit by releasing a nuke for all.
All i can hope for is they dont go the same way SOE did and think about just money now and make addon after addon charging each time and making grossly overpowered things coming with them.
OK costumes, travel powers, auras and emotes are one thing, but making attacks buyable is the complete wrong way to go even if you do put a long recharge on it.
Please fix game breaking things like server disconnections and lost mapservers every two minutes before releasing bugged pay to use content otherwise there will be a lot more players leaving the already half dead servers.
