no brainer with cyborg pack?

If these issues had been known about before the pack was released, they would have been fixed before the pack was released.

So, none of the people who tested it had a char with a +HP bonus on them? I struggle to find a player char above about level 10 that DOESN'T have a +HP bonus these days...
Perhaps a review of testing procedures would help there.
Sorry GR. I'm well known on here as being a big supporter of the game and the dev team, and have been called a brown nose by several people. But I did predict, with the bugs in the Wedding pack, that the next addon pack would be released bugged as well. I'm somewhat annoyed that I'm right.
The bugs, like the Wedding Pack ones, are very easy to reproduce, and should have been seen almost right away. I just hope the fix to this pack is better thought out than the Wedding Pack fix.

He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.

Yes, the explosion power was, indeed, a no-brainer... i.e. it's a glorious roleplayer griefing tool which the developers have handed to every jackass who chooses to buy it. We can but hope the novelty wares off soon.
[/ QUOTE ]
I doubt that was the first thing that popped into everyones head ... oh i know lets go to d's and grief some role players.
You just given them the idea by mentioning it
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, you're very, very, very late, and you will be petitioned, with a comment to the GM that this was a known, planned action specifically intending to grief (see forum thread blah blah), if you do it while I'm there. So I'd suggest not.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry? I dont think i mentioned griefing you.
I said YOU had just given THEM as in the population in general the idea.

Nope, but it IS well known as a roleplayer gathering spot. Non RPers don't gather there.
[ QUOTE ]
You dont think it might have been people just going to a populated area to show off a new toy, bit of harmless fun, they were in mercy too.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, I know it wasn't. From what I gather, the people doing it were actually RPers themselves, who really should have known better but just couldn't resist playing with their new toy and annoying the hell out of others. I never once said it was non-RPers griefing RPers...
It's actually quite sad really...

Oh no, my pretty much worthless fluff based power of novel personal amusement is bugged. I shall have to curl up and die.
Or I could continue laughing like an idiot at how absurdly awesome my huge model cyborg looks. Now that's a no brainer.

As far as the self destruct power being an imbalancing uber attack of doom, it's not. It's lard on a stick. Couldn't even asplode a +1 lieutenant. I can't see it has any practical use other than being Death's Taxi once an hour.
Just like lard on a stick however, it's bloody good fun to wave around and chase people with though.
Edit - Honestly, I get the wrong end of the stick, get my twopenneth ready to throw in, prime the pram/toys launcher and someone comes along and clarifies things! I don't know why I bother sometimes, but at least I can go and take my words back.

No one ever assumed, believed or stated that the area under Galaxy Girl is only for RPers. We don't mind people passing through, to click on Charlie Sparks, read the plaque, or whatever. What bothers us is people deciding that it's a good idea to interfere with OUR fun.

Not when the same person creates a handful of toons, drags them to the area one after another, and blows them all up, while (as Ravenswing said) pretenting to RP for 20 minutes about the fact that they were going to blow up, with no way for anyone to intervene. If they want to show off their fancy new power to a lot of players, there are places to do it where it won't interfere with other players' enjoyment of the game.
The wisdom of Shadowe: Ghostraptor: The Shadowe is wise ...; FFM: Shadowe is no longer wise. ; Techbot_Alpha: Also, what Shadowe said. Sorry, less awake than I thought, I misread.
But I will be petitioning people for this tonight if it happens, just like I do with anyone else that turns up to do nothing but annoy the roleplayers... be they roleplayer or non. (There isn't a 'resigned sigh' sort of smiley.)

If you're referring to the "Just a" characters, then had you got involved with the RP and joined the people defusing stuff, then you'd of seen that there were ways to stop of it.
Of course you could also sit there and moan about it OOC, after all wouldn't want to spoil that aspect of your game enjoyment.

You entirely underestimate the intelligence of the griefer. They are generally one step ahead of anyone who is being griefed.

They WERE the RP crowd apparently.
It's just that they don't all sing from the same hymn sheet which seems to cause friction.
Personally I'd say GG is a very public area, if you wanted to get some proper RP done without distractions do it elsewhere. I'd consider GG more like an RP lobby, where people chat and mess about than a location for serious RP The same with any public area, even from my tabletop RP days. If you want to preserve an atmosphere go somewhere private, don't expect those in a public area to conform to your standards. Even at conventions and the like it was common to go to a sideroom for more intense RP sessions (Cthulhu really doesn't work in a room of 500 with Paranoia LARPers running about and yelling. You start thinking "Bugger. I didn't know there was Paranoia LARP on").

@Carnifax: The entire point of GG is that anyone can wander up and roleplay. Yes, that means that jerks can come up and grief the meetings (whether they be roleplaying jerks or not), but it's one price to be paid for the freedom.
However, the server rules state that messing with other people's enjoyment of the game is a petitionable offense. Stating that roleplayers should go somewhere else (rather than use an out of the way location, which GG basically is) to avoid the stupid behaviour of others, seems a bit unfair.
Shall we ban people from sitting under Atlas and chatting? Or holding costume competitions there? It's very much more exposed and public than GG. They could get griefed and need to petition someone. Can't have that.

Brawling Cactus from a distant planet.
I can understand product being released with a bug or 2 if it's a free update, ie Issues etc, but to release something the punters actually pay for with a load of bugs in seems a bit rich.
I did try and purchase it last night but due to the systems being clunky (as per somebody else's thread) it failed. I will take that as an omen and save my hard earned
so in this instance NCNC: Fail
