Hi all,
Omega Sektorian here (if any of you remember me from Omega Sektor 08 the best event of the year) I have been missing in action lately and well came across this. I want to wish all the guys like Rockjaw and Aero the best of luck in the future and what ever they choose to do and say thankyou for the fantastic easter you gave us all in Birmingham.
Alas I am also moving on to new horizons and will be leaving Omega Sektor in 2 weeks but all i can say is...Omega Sektorian will go on fighting till he can't fight no more...so if you see me around please say...Hi

Hear hear. Besides, if you want to know what we really think about whether or not we should have set up (say) Greek servers, well...
... anyone who's had a beer with me will know that I'm happy to talk on any subject when drinking.
More details to follow, but probably on the blog, not here, so keep eyes peeled.
Hello all,
Unfortunately I didn't have time yet to read the whole thread, but I think I got the gist of it ...
I was away (RL and in game) for a while and now I come back to this ... it is terrible news, first and foremost for the people who lose their jobs. Guys, all the best of luck for you, may you find new work quickly! *fingers crossed*
But their loss is also ours, as this great community was shaped not only by the amazing people playing the game but also and in a very large part by the outstanding NCSOFT community team in Brighton.
Having been at many a show where I met (and probably annoyed) them, I have gotten to know and value them as friends. Rockjaw, Aero - you will be sorely missed and I hope we really can meet up in game at least!
Of course I have just made arrangements to fly over to the UK, so I will (hopefully) be meeting you guys on Saturday.

PRAF, is this thread the place for this stuff?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, absolutely: yes. It is related - it's important to analyse and understand unfortunate events rather than falling back entirely on the wailing and gnashing of teeth, not to mention venomous bickering.

Bye Steve, good luck to your new horizons.
Ok, is anyone staying?
Maybe it will be easier to create a list of those staying instead of those leaving.
Let's see...

Well, I just read through 11 pages. That took a while!
Upon reading the first page, I found myself feeling really bad that I'd not gotten to know Rockjaw better whenever I went to Bristol Comic Cons. I believe it will actually be something that I regret for probably the rest of my life. He's someone that I acknowledge as having done so much for so many people, and he is going to be missed.
The only thing I think he ever said to me was 'great picture', when he saw my screenshot about to be sketched in 2007. As you can see, I love this man, because he has taste
Chris - well, what can I say? Back when you were in-game, you were a great player, and if I see you getting back into it, I'll be happy. However, what has happened sucks, there's no denying. Again, you made Cons that much smoother, worth attending, friendlier and generally...unique.
You're both stars. You're both part of the history of this game. In my opinion, they need to build tributes to your characters into CoX.

Ah the wisdom of Nomolos
But actually to be serious for a moment, the sad fact of RJ and OS both moving on makes me wonder if there actually will be an OS event next year

Coincidence?
Any word about Palladium or they are phasing out French and German servers in the process of cutting down expenses?
[/ QUOTE ]
Pure coincidence.
Palladium is staying, and as I stated earlier in the thread CoH in Europe will be remaining as it is (with the exception of Kerensky's possible redundancy). No server mergers or closures that I am aware of.
I am sorry, but how Kerensky would be redundant (even "possibly")?
He is irreplaceable.

Interesting... Especially considering UK law means they make the position redundant and not actually the person therefore if he does go (as a redundancy and not under his own steam) they can't hire anyone else as a German Moderator.
Hmmm...

They can just have a new post, similar job, different title. Happens all the time.
I dont think they are interested in replacing people, just getting rid of what they got.
They might just throw a "Learn German in your sleep" book at GR and Palladium and say, "That'll be in your next quarterly appraisal - get to it."
I sincerely hope not though

I really don't know what to say here, only found out about this today.
Rockjaw, Aero and Kerensky, you'll all be sorely missed, in many ways you 3 where the "face" of ncsoft for us.
Esp at the next bristol con for myself I hope you find new employment you enjoy as much as you seemed to enjoy being part of the EU CoH/NCsoft team.
Please pass on my hope and support to Bridger as well, I remember him being so fired up about moveing from the community moderator side onto the development side of things and now it seems to have colapsed.
With the games developing industry being as nepotistic as it is, I'm sure he'll find a new job with the experience he has.
Good luck to you all, it's a sad day and it'll be a steep job for thoes remaining to keep up the levels of passion for the game and keeping our passions in check on these forums.

Ye Gods man! Pick something worth regretting! Somehow I can't see anyone lying on their deathbed going "I wish... I'd gotten to know... that guy from NCsoft... better.... urrrugghgh."
