Well done to everyone who took part this evening, it was a great sight to see you all scurrying along through Cap, dodging the Goldbrickers (or not as the case may be!)

A well run race, followed by a great cossie comp with some high standards of entries!

A huuuuge thank you to Mothers_Love for organising such a great event, you deserve kudos by the bucketload.

I've updated the wiki page and I think I've got everyone in there. If I've missed you off please feel free to drop me a PM (or add yourself if you'd rather - it is a wiki!)

Happy Samhein/Halloween all you CoXers out there!

Brilliant event and much thanks to ML for sorting this out, it’s just a shame the bribes to the Dev’s didn’t work to get the zombies to attack just before the start.

Here’s a few pictures.

(No one point out that I forgot to take most of them in first person, but in my defence I did have most of my screen filled with chat windows. Also apologies for not getting snaps of the costume comp’ at the end – I was wowed by the beauty, I mean dark spooky evil beauty, of everyone. )

The Early Birds [linky]
More begin to gather [linky, linky, linky, linky]
People start to line up on the line (look where those crazy Alien Racers are stood ) [linky]
And they’re off! (and yep the aliens are already going in the wrong direction) [linky]

*edited for spelling.

Thankyou all, glad you enjoyed the event.

Congratulations to:

Rogue Isles Race Champion - Lost for words (Aka: Lost Samurai).

Rogue Isles Race Silver Medalist: Hot Sound (aka: Lady Arete).

Rogue Isles Race Bronze Medalist: Sal's Racer (aka: Salacious).

Commiserations to Deaf Racer who missed out by just one badge!,... and the few Villains cunning enough to make it in one piece to the finishing line. Amongst the few: Capt.Davey Bones, The Runningman, Evil Nick Knowles (who almost got all the badges but was cursing the 'Mistress of the Airwaves' badge and told me he'd be back for it once he got 'fly').
Welldone everyone, 'close!, but no cigar.' as they say, - It wasn't easy but to the winners go the spoils of victory.

1st place and Winner of the Rogue Isles Race Costume competition: Murdo McTaggart (who couldn't believe he'd won - bless him). Congratulations!, you are the prizewinner of the rather unique Actual strand of GhostWidow hair! , I've been working on the packaging for the last couple of nights now.... and "Daaamn!!!, even I'm jealous!" (I did think about keeping it (as I was red-side at the time), but in the end my dominant inner-Mumsie won out.
Hope you enjoy it Murdo, and the rest of the prizefund I'll be mailing to you first thing Monday.

Rogue Isles Race Costume contest Second place: Bad Hat! wonderfully diabolical, this is truely what happens when you watch too much cartoons. Screenshot incoming (if it hasnt been posted already).
A very generous 15 million Inf generously donated by Proximity (because to be honest I'd run out of prizes )
(Thankyou Prox, I'll be putting a little something in the post to you to say thankyou. Sorry for inadvertantly putting you on the spot like that).

Rogue Isles Race Costume Contest Third place: Ariarathes A chilling Vampiric effort worthy of the 10 million Inf again donated by Proximity

Congratulations all! - enjoy the spoils of victory which shall be winging their way to you early next week!

Hey, its Bad Hat, 2nd place in the costume contest! Thanks for the infamy, my diabolical plans are already in the making. One question . . . it said on the wiki page that a ppd hard suit code would be available to both me and the 3rd place winner, is this true? and if so, how will i receive it?

Posted

I will be sending the codes direct to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of the Race and to the winner of the costume contest. GhostRaptor has kindly offered codes be available to 2nd and 3rd place cossie winners and to the Marshalls whos invaluable help last night made the event so memorable.
Whether that is through me or direct through GR when he's back in the office we'll have to wait and see.

Thankyou GR, thankyou everybody.

'Twas indeed an entertaining event. The Master/Mistress of the Airwaves badge proved to be a couple of peoples undoing. Even mine almost, and I was marshalling!

Honourable mention goes to Hot Sound for me though, she'd fair pelted up one of the web cables and was a shoe-in for 1st place, a small miscalculation on the jump however saw her plummet unceremoniously all the way back to the bottom. Highly entertaining, though I do sympathise.

Well done all who took part!

Thanks Pipe
Yea it was very entertaining. As i said above.. i was on adrenaline there. Grandville invaded by zombies, had to wait for my jump pack to recharge.. falling down due to that miscalculation but fortunatly not completely down (phew).. seeing a zombie spawn in the air and falling down (muhaha) while i waited for the jump pack once more to recharge.. and getting attacked by a zombie on the ridge. (Fortunatly before my end was gone the jump pack was recharged).. All this while listening to a very blood pumping tune on Evo.. I loved this race

Pity for those who ran all the way and did find out they missed a badge
But all over Well done to everyone

T'was a really fun event. Although I do consider myself less-than-useful... Anyone catch my silly comments in Mercy? (K-Gun)

Nom, PPD Hardsuit.

Oh, and sorry for not being able to get you the names of the winners (Except Bad Hat) Mumsie.

You kept me amused as I stood in Pocket D swigging beer and making my pets dance for my amusement... I mean while maintaining an eagle-eyed vigil over the crossroads for cheaters

I did take piccies of anyone running past me, but they were all high-levels, not racers.

Whoever had Evil Nick Knowles deserves an honourable mention, just for cracking me up at the start of the race (is the guy allergic to razors or what?)

Possibly the most boring (if not essential) part of the event marshalling!, Thankyou for volunteering Carnifax! - One PPD Code winging its way to you courtesy of GhostRaptor.

Very busy is pretty accurate. I have them on my to-do list, right near the top now.

Now that I know The Rogue Isles Race Costume Contest winner Murdo McTaggart has got his prizes package throught the post, I don't have to worry about spoiling the surprise, and can share with you all the DVD-sized GhostWidow packaging that I cooked up to hold the authentic strand of GhostWidow hair.

The packaging - Removable test-tube - Test-tube contents close-up

hi, thanks to Mother's Love for a great box of goodies. Loads of great things in it. My favourites are Ghost Widows hair (had to say this in case she is listening), an art book and the standees and posters that I'm going to put around my PC. Most impressed with the Villians/arach themed package that arrived.
I hope you repeat the race and cozzie competition again-next time I'll try and run in the right direction.
