Hey peeps

So does anyone else want the lvl cap increased to lvl 60?

I would love for this to happen!

I need the extra few powers and enhancement slots thats for sure. Plus alot of players have wanted this change as they get bored and cant be bothered to create a new toon.

But it would be a nice change IMO!

Peacebringers & Warshades should stay at the lvl 50 requirement. Some mobs and zones would be changed due to this change me thinks.

Any agree/disagree with this idea?

I'd prefer more content within the current levels, to allow variety for each character.

I'm not sure what the official response was, but I know it's been discussed / suggested before.

One of the others around here will probably know the official stance on this. In fact I'm suprised no one has pounced on this yet

I guess you'd need a lot more content for another ten levels, especially considering how much XP you'd need to earn. I'm not sure if I'd personally want to go through any more grind with Robotank (my only lvl50 to date),as it took a hell of a long time to get him to 50 (3+ years). However, that's my view on this - I know others have levelled a quicker rate than me, so they might be more keen on this.

I'd love to see this happen. Of course, you'd only get to level 56 or so before there wasn't anything left high enough to get xp off.

When you say "I need the extra few..." I suspect you mean "I want a few extra...", as presumably you've been able to level your toon all the way to the current cap with the current allocation of powers and slots?

Essentially, disagree - adding 10 extra levels, with associated new powers, new maps, new story arcs spanning the entire extra level range and probably new villain groups would be a hell of a job, and twice the size of anything they've done before. Too big a job to be feasible, IMHO.

I think they'd be far better slotting in new sections of content (c.f. Faultline revamp, Rikti War Zone, Cimerora, etc...) to the existing level range, and new power sets, as and when they can. That gives you the chance to see new areas and play with new powers, only in far more manageable (from a rollout point of view) chunks.

Personally, I'm happy to stop and go with another alt after 50 levels.

result of upping the cap...

- need to replay main's that you where though was finished
- you can throw away all youre expensive long tie gathered / farmed enhances as they are now useless
- You are getting new slots.. therefor can get all powers a slotting of 6

Especially the enhance slotting is a reason not to do this. WOW does it all the time. Its a cheap way to keep players on... and simply doesnot satisfy.

You buy expensive sets... and an update hits. Then you can get in a new zone where the drops are already higher then the stuff you bought for millions.

The Invention system was introduced as a way of making your character better without having to raise the level cap.

The only thing I can think of off-the-top of my head is more variety in powerpools, more power choices added to be slotted with the same system.

VERY VERY unlikely to ever happen. Positron has stated as much as did Rockjaw at the mini-Con.

Raising the level cap requires a lot of new development, and what is needed is additional content. Getting to 50 traditionally was "the game" but with each recent issue, a lot more content has been added for level 50s, including Inventions, Ouroboros, the repeatable missions inn RWZ and Cimerora. Sure, churning them out solo isn't that exciting but, a mothership raid followed by MoSTF is a good days work and gives you lots of action that doesn't pall so soon.

I13 will almost certainly have a lot more high level content, as will I14 and frankly I think that's the way to go in this game.

Oh not this petition again. No, no and no. The level cap is fine as it is.

Me and a lot players out there, like to enjoy the content and don't mind much about getting a char into 50. Just give us more content and things to do and we'll be happy

More levels to earn will only increase in my opinion that pathetic power level behaviour.

As lovely as the sound of Ding'age is, this sounds like a resounding 'NO' vote so far.

If people are so interested in honing and improving their character, to be perfectly honest I have seen very few Hero's (or Villains for that matter) whos Set bonus' read "Ultimate.., Ultimate.., Ultimate.., Ultimate.." - I suspect a lot of people calling for a level-raise are clearly nowhere near realising their characters full potential with the current Inventions system.

If this is for just wanting more pool powers then you should suggest the ability to pick a whole pool power set for free at 50. The only reason they originally bumped it up from 40 to 50 was the ancillary power pools, and that took a hell of a lotta time to do


A total of 14 of my nerves have been harmed in the making of this post...

What I would like to see is some way to expand on a L50 character (not infinitely, but some), perhaps with recipes (purples? Might work), the allow you to earn (pay for, craft, however) extra Enhancement slots to go into your existing powers, and perhaps enable you to purchase new powers from your primary/secondary/pools/Ancilliaries.

Never to go above the cap of 6 slots per power, and never to allow you to access powers outside those you have already got the selection options for, but as a way to 'fill out' your character.

Probably far too much effort, and a complete beast to code, but I think it would be good.

Though I will /sign Mumsie's point about people not having acheived the full potential of the current system.

Next you'll be asking for the drop system to be changed to a l33t basis. If you want higher level content, go play WoW.

There is plenty of stuff to do post 50. My original 50 still hasn't completed everything, after almost 900 hours on patrol. I still have story arcs open, haven't got any complete purple sets, still got 70+ badges to get etc.....

And the main point, as soon as lvl 60 content is granted, when does lvl 70 then get asked for, then lvl 80. Getting to 50 for most people is a challenge, getting to 60, 70 or 80 is something completly different.... and can only lead to more people powerleveling or farming... Do you really want to make this game a grindfest, rather than an enjoyable journey!!!!

The point I was making, which you have quoted badly. Is that higher levels will lead to more grinding, especially for alts that have been at 50 for ages. The best way of getting xp fast is powerleveling or farming...!

I don't personally like either, but I'm not saying that no-one should do it, just that I don't.

Not good not bad but I can't agree with power leveling, they are missing the best of the game according to my point of view: enjoying every bit of content that happens between 1-50 and that made this game great and my reason to play it

As I said is my point of wiew and I think is somehow normal this kind of behaviour seeing as purple drops. I would like they drop in a different way to avoid this, but I'm not sure wich way will be best that doesn't lead to greed and "farming", but this is not the thread to speak about farming. Apart of that I'm quite tired of forums post saying that there's no end content. I would like to ask that people: Have you played the "low content"? Have you tried Ouroboros? Have you do the TF/SF's? Have you seen every zone to see?

I'm proud to have completed almost every story arc but the new epics on villains. Those have made feel like I was inside of a good hero comic, like old spidey's

I'm very suprised by both community and quoted dev response to this issue. I personally have never lvled anything over 40 as the epic system IMO sucks eggs, if this is the best the devs can do I'm not suprised by the shouts of 'do this and I'll leave'. As far as I see any MMO that caps progress will fail when compared to one that provides open ended progression. As too the fact there would be less players this is probably data even the company don't have, who can say how many have stopped there subs after lvling say 3 chrs to 50 and decided theyve done everything there is to do ingame. As to the suggestion that everyone should purple up b4 moaning well months of farming (if that's your cuppa tea) for a couple of 10% global bonuses really is to me the defenition of a grind.
IMHO the next generation of MMO's will provide as far as possible for infinite progression this seams inevitable, with this in mind is it not a case of keep up or fall by the wayside?
