The Hero Summer Games Has Arrived!

Hello and welcome to the paragon city european official forums.
Quite a lot lately i have been asked whether my summer event the "hero olympics" was still going ahead. Well if im honest i was thinking about not doing it last week due to two of my influence helpers pulling out. However due to the number of people that did ask me to go ahead with it, and still hearing the crowd ask for more events i have decided to do the event with 100% my own influence (although any extra given is welcome ).
Originally the event was planned for July 21st - July 27th as a week long event, but i have now decided to spread out the events so i can bring it forward a bit.
The following are the events that are CONFIRMED with their relevant details/rules/dates etc. If you want to request any events of your own for either myself or yourself to create then feel free to PM me to add to the list. (all events will be held on union server)

A Point To Proove.

Date: June 29th
Time: 7pm Uk time
Information: This will be an arena match in pocket D. The only restrictions will be;
*Endurance at max
*No Temp powers
If you feel like you have a point to proove that you can hold your own against fellow heroes, then come join this level 50 free for all. Battles will be fast and frantic so everybody has a chance of making a difference!
Prizes:
1st place = 100 million influence
2nd place = 75 million influence
3rd place = 50 million influence

Skyway City Dash Of Doom!

Date: July 13th
Time: 6pm
Information: In skyway city heroes who are not above level 6 (note: Your allowed a pool power at that level so choose wisely, swift or stealth? ) get to take part in the race of doom. Players will start at a designated starting point on the overpass and have to RUN to the finishing line. Fastest player wins. However paragon police have stated that there has been a high number of clockwork/trolls/lost lately on the bridge and have warned skyway hospital that most heroes will NOT survive it. There will be a number of people watching over this event to make sure no cheating goes on, if it does . . . . your out. Peacebringers/warshades not allowed. All other powers are.

Prizes:
1st place = 100 million influence
2nd place = 50 million influence
3rd place = 25 million influence

Bow before the king/queen!

Date: 20th July
Time: 5pm
Information: Sure you think your strong because you soloe'd Lusca and threw a snowball at the snowbeast. But what really makes you a hero is if you do so in style. Proove you got that style by entering this costume contest! This will take in the traditional costume contest place, Atlas Park. No level restrictions. No costume restrictions. No Aura restrictions. Use what you got to make yourself the best!

Prizes:
1st place = 130 million influence
2nd place = 80 million influence
3rd place = 30 million influence

He's a what what of a what what?

Date: 27th July
Time: 7pm
Information: Hamidon has been spotted in paragon city?! Yes thats right and its up to its finest heroes to take hami down once and for all. Only recently thought of this event due to a number of players saying they missed raids in the memories thread. No actual prizes except for the HO's, just thought it'ld be nice to finally organise one.

Lost and Found

Date: 31st July
Time: 00:01am to 11:59pm
Information: This event will officially start as soon as soon as thursday hits. A player (myself for the main duration) will go hide himself at a specified location (will PM the location to ghostraptor so theres no "i looked there though ") and clues will be sent out on the global channel (or the forums, depending whether im allowed that) once an hour. For example if i decided to hide myself near the terra volta nuclear station, one of the clues could be

"Every hero that comes here shows nothing but respec".
As time passes on the clues would get more detailed. Winner is the person who finds me first. (will be on maxed out hide so no1 can cheat)

Prizes:
Winner = 200 million influence

*Note this event hasnt been confirmed, need a DEFINITE number of people to say yes to go ahead with this*

Date + Time: To be confirmed
Information: An arena european championship knockout round. Depending on size of people that turn up it will be either of the following.
1) 4 vs 4 Team knockout rounds: A standard winner advances to the next round style tournie with the winners each receivin a high payout. The team that finishes second will receive a much lower payout obviously.
2) Group stages of hell: If a lot of people are up for this, then its a duo competition. Teams (with names please) will be placed into groups (group A, group B etc) by random with the top 2 teams advancing from each group into the knockout stages. If there is a draw between 2nd/3rd then a final winner takes all will take place between the two to determine who qualifies. Teams are allowed ONE substitute player. Level not decided on this until i know people want to do this, will leave up to the majority to decide the level restriction.

Go.Hunt.Kill.Skulls

Date: August 3rd
Time: 00:01 until 23:59
Information: Dont you really hate skulls? I mean come on they do nothing but wreck kings row and perez. So now its time we did something about it. Whoever kills the most Skulls during that time period wins. This will be judged via the city terminals scattered around the city. No level restrictions

Prizes:
1st place = 300 million influence (due to the length of time this could possibly take)
2nd place = 100 million influence
3rd place = 50 million influence

*phew* ok that is all that i can handle at the moment. Once again i am open to people adding their own events to these so long as they accept responsibility for it (i will be happy to provide funding though). To tell me about the event you wish to enter then either PM me ALL the details about it on these forums or you can contact me ingame via @Damz
Will be contacting a certain player now shortly to see whether they are still up for advertising/participating on air.

The Skyway City Dash Of Doom sounds like it will be just as much fun to watch as to participate in X3

Love it. I remember when you first mentioned this and I thought to myself that I would make an effort to take part. An event list like that takes balls to organise and you quite obviously have the nuts for the job.

It is on union though isn't it? I hope so anyway.

hehe yup Going to be lots of screenshots (with captions) from that event let me tell you. Nothing says youv earned that influence than a trail of defeated heroes behind you.

Well thats the guaranteed amount of influence i can earn up to then, will almost certainly rise by hopefully 100mill per event. But not saying exact increased figures until the day Better to have people suprised the prize is bigger than they thought than to have less than i promised

First of all i have to say, well thought. All events look very fun to join.

Only thing that came to my mind is about quoted part. Siphon Speed anyone? It can be gained on a Kinetic Defender at lvl 6 which is one level lower than Super Speed. I think you should not allow this power to be used. If this will be seen as cheating you better point that out.

This power should be fine, since the mobs on the bridge will be around lvl 15 and ur only lvl 6. So first you need it to hit, GL with that at lvl 6 on a +9, and even if it does hit your most likly gonna die from the agro, so yea GG

Why is end at maximum in Point to Prove? This makes my best PvP character a whole lot less effective.

hehe, was actually hoping some players would try that 2bh. Tested it out and well lets just say the 15 times i did attempt it . . . . it never worked (well apart from one but then got hit running ).

I know there are powers out that that WILL give players advantages over others but each advantage will have its own drawback.

Stealth - You wont die, but unless everybody else dies along the way you wont have the speed to win.
PFF - AFAIK theres still a chance for their attacks to hit through (will test the ratio against those mobs tonight)
Swift - Figure every1 will take this 2bh
AM - This is the only power atm im thinking of banning, although i suppose the drawback is that your buffing everybody else around you.
Trick Arrow Flash - Even though its auto hit and a good way to negate agro, i think the cast time will be too much of a downside to let that person anywhere near the top 10.

Im always up for ideas on how to improve each event if the playerbase thinks it would be for the better. The point you mentioned was because i personally feel it would be more fun if the battle was constant and thus the more experienced pvpers would have less downtime to regain their health. Of course if enough people think i should remove that then i'ld be more than happy too.

As a side note, theres going to be mini events just for fun after each main event. These will consist mainly of;

*hellion repel football
*GM hunt
*Mothership Raid
*Zonal pvp event
*Auction house lottery (will bid £10 million on a rubbish no bids item at a set time)
*Plus many more we'v got lined up throughout the events.

Ooh, be sure to post the date/time for the mothership raid. I really need that last exploration badge XD

mmm, i wonder how balance the contest of hunter would be, a lvl 50 has a higher chance to win then a lvl 10.
IMO there should be a rule, only use brawl, but only when your character is below lvl 12 you can use your first primary power without enchantments.

Impossible to enforce unfortunately.

Sounds like a lot of fun... but I'm not alone in thinking that max end for the PVP is a big nerf to Kins and Elecs which is a shame.

I wonder if there couldn't be a sort of swimming event the winning being the first to get the Whitecap badge and return to a given point. Perhaps from Rikti Hill next to the station in Talos to the White Cap badge and back.

Unsure what level or restrictions though. Level 14 means no swimming (all have tarvel powers, but lower levels might not be able to get to Talos.

One restriction would have to be that you don't have the white cap badge. Only problem I can see is I'm not sure there's enough danger.
