To that I'd respond that he's playing the game for which he pays the same sub as you, me, or the OP in a way that he finds rewarding.
If anything, the low PvP population (caused by people not playing the game in the fashion for which it is intended, no doubt) is causing the subject his woes.
You're correct in that we have an inalienable right to judge people for their actions; that doesn't mean we have the right to send them abusive tells or sound them out on public boards. In the same way that free speech doesn't equate to spraypainting profanities on peoples' tombstones; an extreme analogy perhaps, but the principle is the same.

And also i have had a tell from the guy and like wilfred he was nothing but polite and very thankfull.
Ok its been a while since I have been in CoH or CoV but what does PvP rep do for you. If I remember right PvP rep is just a score boards system unless they have changed it.
Now I do know that you have the meteor missions in bloody bay which give you a Shivian temp pet power in sirens call its the bounty's which you can trade in for temp powers and I can remember the name of the open pvp zone but you get nukes and the such. But what do you get in RV other than the heavy and the turret badge.
Rv gives badges and the robot temp power mainly, and you get to fight some pretty hefty Avs. Warburg is the Nuke territory.
Rep will get you more badges, though it degrades over time.

I wouldv probs let him kill me once if i was in the zone but i wouldnt go outta my way to help someone like that though unless i knew them.

PvP rep is just that... reputation...
The temp powers from each zone do not require any PvP at all, its all PvE.
Theres not even any inf/prestige/salvage/drops from PvP farming... so whats the point. the only reason to farm PvP kills is to unlock the final SG Base control facilities, and this is much easier achieved by having the SG visit Warburg (the free PvP zone, with the nukes and stuff) and have fun blasting each other (some SGs ive been a member of even make this an SG event)
The subject of the OPs post (Not the OP or his wife)should be /Ignore'd as hes just a pain who doesnt even understand that PvP rep is a pointless score that means nothing if its farmed and not earned.

If someone asked me politely to do that I would respond politely with a negative answer (unless I really wasn't busy at all then I'd help)
If someone asked in an abrasive manner I would use the word "No" as an answer and leave it at that. If they then continued to pester I'd ignore them.
Neither of those options take longer than telling someone asking for a team that my team is full. As long as people dont get abusive after you say no to something, or continually spam you the same question then I wouldn't take issue.
If he'd been asking you to fill for a farming team then the no farming thing might have been worth pointing out politely (I have been invited to teams by people stood near me and not using the /sea before) but asking for help for a badge doesn't fall into most definitions people hold for farming in this game (though really doing the same thing over and over again to get the reward quickly probably should)

No one's being forced to suffer anything; after the first approach the OP (or his gf) could have put the badger on ignore and that would have been the end of the matter. Time elapsed, around 5 seconds.
"Exposing" isn't really possible, as you can't name names under the EULA and without naming names all that's really left is a general rant against that sort of activity.
Which people can do, but all the readers are then perfectly at liberty to pass judgement on the poster about their words and stated views.

If we can not discuss tells on the forum then all threads about gold sellers and all other threads about farming tells should also stay of the forum but they don't do they, and a tell about farming pvp rep falls in my view into the same thing and how many others did this person tell ? just this one I don't think so do you ?
So Rep = Badges right not a big badge [censored] on the whole but I love the trait and deed system in Lotro. If CoH and CoV did some thing similar I think I would probably care more about badges.
As it is the PvP zones have some pretty cool incentives to go there other than just rep. I personaly cant wait to get back to Bloody Bay and get me some Shivans and if it means I have to fight other players for them all the better.

No-one said you can't discuss them. But Tells are not a Public broadcast.
Personally I'd have probably just declined and moved on.
I certainly wouldn't have made a thread ranting about it. What's the point? It's no worse than Filler requests and I just decline them (with an ignore for the spammy, rude ones).
In fact since it doesn't affect your Teaming status its probably a little less disruptive than Filler requests
You can discuss the topic, but you cannot name-and-shame the player concerned. That applies equally to this specific topic and any other topic (such as PL, gold seller etc).
This policy is in place to protect against someone making a false or misleading accusation on the forums and permanently impacting on another players reputation.

No i dont think he only sent one, i also dont actually see any harm in politely asking for help with a badge.
I dont actually care about badges any more, but i know a lot of people do, and i definately dont put asking for help with them in the same catagory as asking for farm fillers, and pleas for power leveling from strangers (must be said, those 2 things dont irritate me as much as some though either, i do the first if im not busy, and just say no to the second if i dont know them)
What i dont see the need for is coming and ranting about someone asking for help with a badge.
Anyway we might as well agree to disagree on what constitutes an in game bad sport.

Couple of things.
I've had that request, it was very politely put, from a pleasant enough guy.
All he wants is to get a badge; I don't know about you but I never see enough fodder in PvP zones to get to 400 rep, and I only have one toon that would actually be capable of taking out PvP types.
I wasn't doing anything at the time, and since I don't lose anything, felt no qualms about helping him out.
I sense you've put more time into making this post than into helping someone out. Which is good of you.
He asked if you wouldn't mind helping him out; suddenly he's a moron, and an idiot, and should be banned from computer use. From the sounds of it you sent a pretty abusive tell back. If there's a villain in this piece, I don't think it's him.

I don't I think the villain is him as he isn't playing the game in the spirit it was intended, and would have to be pretty stupid to think he is, there is nothing stopping him from doing it but equally there is nothing stopping others for judging him for it.
