.......my other half had a tell from a moron who shall remain nameless, who wanted him to go into PVP so the guy could kill him over and over just to get his PVP badge.

What an Idiot!!!!! Has this guy never heard of actually playing the game. Go into the zone and earn it PVPing like normal people do.

Needless to say the response was less than polite and would have been far worse if I had got it. And this is despite them having no farming on my partners notes.

Idiots like this should be banned from anywhere within a 5 mile radius of a computer game.

I've heard of people doing it amongst friends or sgs to quickly gain rep in pvp, doesn't sound like the smartest thing to ask a complete stranger to do it.

I know its been done for a while, but to blindly ask people to do it, and when they have on notes that they dont like farming is stupidity of the highest order.

While technically it is farming this to me has a distinct difference. I have no problem with accepting a space on a farming team if I'm looking for any old PuG. I'm gaining xp and inf/prestige, the team gains by getting an extra member (in many cases they're no more efficient than any other PuG but that's off the point).

This to me is a one way street, the other person is gaining pvp rep, you're gaining sweet FA. Except that you're needed to rez your alt and drag it like a lamb to the slaughter every x minutes you might as well go read a book or watch the telly. That's why imo this really needs to be done amongst friends, you'd need to be to hang around doing this for any length of time.

My view is that farming does harm the game and there is compelling arguments that lead me to think that way, in practice this doesn't stop it but it still leaves me free to judge those that do, I can be tolerant of it but not like it or respect those that do do it. I think there is a very big difference to a pug levelling team and a farm team

I wouldnt exactly call it low, it just a little rude request.
Ive got the badge on remington thanks to a bug (in the very beginning there was a rare bug that gave you badge after only 1 player kill, i was lucky enough to get it), so I didnt have to farm there.

But on pansington i actually joined a team and killed others over and over for the badge and then let them do the same.

Couple of things.

I've had that request, it was very politely put, from a pleasant enough guy.

All he wants is to get a badge; I don't know about you but I never see enough fodder in PvP zones to get to 400 rep, and I only have one toon that would actually be capable of taking out PvP types.

I wasn't doing anything at the time, and since I don't lose anything, felt no qualms about helping him out.

I sense you've put more time into making this post than into helping someone out. Which is good of you.

He asked if you wouldn't mind helping him out; suddenly he's a moron, and an idiot, and should be banned from computer use. From the sounds of it you sent a pretty abusive tell back. If there's a villain in this piece, I don't think it's him.
