people complaining in sirens
[ QUOTE ]
In the next ten seconds I went in, hit build up... impale to shoot down the hovering hero, then placate and AS to finish him off.
Now, our "duel" had lasted almost ten minutes, but because the hero was only aware of the last ten seconds of it, he complained about how "easy" the fight was for me and how little he'd been able to do about it. He'd been successfully "fighting" me for several minutes through his movement, positioning and teaming, but he had no idea about that.
[/ QUOTE ]
Eh? That sounds like a fair fight...

Just in perspective, it was, but there's a understandable frustration when your 'fighting' is actually the same as you wandering around doing nothing
All you really need to do is find a Defender or a Controller with Empath and Clear mind, one pop from that and you can see a stalker coming.
Anyone on Union ever need an empath send a tell to Healer Kid, i'll CM you to a stalker killin life
P.S. Hey Electrode/Skills
Regarding the comments on AR blasters. Was thinking 2 or more AR blasters with perception could cover each other and create a nice kill zone between them. Doubt i have time to go roll an AR/dev blaster though Maybe I'l hang on and get that long range missile in the epic pools.

CM is a huge help but not a failsafe, a good stalker can still sneak up on someone who can see them just because you can see them doesnt mean you will
also teleporting stalkers are a cut above, just a shame D'monique seems to be off playng something else

i agree stalkabot and even without as i can still hold my own in a one on one fight due to my regen powers, all i do is bang on instant healing and dull pain.
and not all stalkers complain tainted, i have been in a team o stalkers a few times and we have had a great laugh.

That's right. There's little better than seeing someone standing around basking in the purple glowing head going "I am all that is man!" as you stand next to them and AS them anyway.

@Ninja Electrode -
A little bird tells me that he was in PvP last night, and the complaining on broadcast was actually started by you! Can you confirm or deny this?
what complaining is this?? are you saying i was complaining about other at's hmmm??
the whole point of this thread was people moaning about stalkers tactics in sirens and i wanted to know peoples opinions. since then it has been a heated discussion to say the least lol.

Sure you can.Against blasters and controllers and defenders.Except sotrmies, well plus some controller sets cause well build scrappers will rip you apart with no problem. Not to mention 2 shots death from blasters with damage that wont appear on your log. U need to face it that most stalkers usually are hyenas. They come to finish off what others hit or go around in a pact and run away at first shooo. Is not a bad thing but dont tell me u can stand your ground cause 99% no stalker stands his ground. And the reason is because they are not build for that.

True only the ones that thing stalker is the god of pvp and land at hard reality that is usually a beginners AT for pvp. In the hands of a really experinced player a stalker is really awsome. In the hands of a furstrated because he is dying player it turns into an abuse spitting dummy because the stalker MUST be the pvp god. but is not simple as that.
i beg to disagree if i am fighting one on one i will never back down from a fight but if there are a few heroes in one group then i will use my stalker tactics.
I disagree that stalkers are a beginners at, i certainly am not a beginner infact i have fought a fair few scrappers and stood my ground.

You are one.Not the stalker population.Furthermore let me remind you that stalkers were not made to stand their ground.Against a scrapper you are bound to turn into a nice bowl of mashed potatoes if u go toe to toe.Against a controller you ll be held and sit there while the controller kills you.And finally against a blaster well good luck. Especially if we talk about blappers pulling some insane damage combos. The tanker i not mention because simply toe to toe you cannot kill.Oh and stnading ground actually means that you not run away for hide to come back so you pull AS.Means to actually stand ground which leaves your hide out of play.

Explain me why u disagree because i certainly dont see why u believe is otherwise.
1)Which AT is easiest to pull a lot of kills while soloing in PvP even in a crowded area?
Stalker
2)Which AT is the easiest to create an effective PvP build no matter what the primary/secondary choice is?
Stalker
3)Which AT regardless of primary/secondary uses the same attack cycle in pvp and is common for everyone?
Stalker (BU,AS,Placate,Attack)
4)Which AT provides the safest way to pull a lot of PvP kills having the lowest risk vs reward index?
Stalker
This is why a stalker is a beginners AT in pvp.Is good to learn the ropes u dont need teams and certainly you can learn the game mechanics.
And thats why i said in hands of really experienced players a stalker is a pain.In the hands of inexperienced ones thinking they are the gods of pvp when they enter the pvp zone well is going to get messy for them and the spanking commences as soon as they hit AS.
Fighting a few scrappers and standing your ground doesnt make you a non beginner.

Dont stalkers get quite a lot of mez protection? Not disagreeing with you, just that I hear a few stalkers boasting a lot about how holding them is a waste of time. Plus I dont know of any way a controller can get stacked perception without multiple tactics.

I think you missed TGs point, he was analyzing stalkers capabilities as a whole. Main idea is that stalker can solo in a PVP zone effectively, meaning the beginner can go there and check whats going on and use normal stalker tactics and rack up some kills. Learn. Plus any build they come up with is propably already effective in PVP..
Anybody who thinks stalkers are gods of PVP by default is going to get their backsides handed to them, though.
Besides, how can you disagree with that hip movement?
I think stalkers get about the same mez protection as scrappers. Plus superreflexes and ninjitsus defense counts as well.
Hmm.. for instance, Stalker shows his face -> slap him with snow storm - autohit power, they cant run - go to town with holds..
ok you are entitled to your own opinion tainted however please do not tar me with the same brush as other stalkers you have fought in the past, i don't go around complaining about all Tanks just because an ice one has smashed me to bits b4 and since i have played this stalker from when cov came out i am certainly not a beginner. i have fought all other at's 1 vs 1 on many occasions
I have been in pvp on a few occasions with my ss/ea brute and have no worry about jumping into the middle of a crowd because i play to my toons strengths. how many blasters/corrupters do you see standing their ground vs a brute? they fly high or maintain a distance so they can use their ranged attacks which is playing to their strengths.

well its just the same as people generalising stalkers saying all we do is run away which is broadcast all the time in pvp. this was my whole point in the 1st place, its ok for people to label stalkers as being cowards and having a go at our tactics apparantly but no other at's retreat do they???

I totally disagree with everything you said there.... nah not really .
A good Stalker is one that can kill you regardless of the precautions that you've taken. A good Stalker is one that has built his own toon to counteract the counteractions you have in place
And lastly a good stalker is one that the people he is killing can have a laugh with... It's all in the name of fun man
ah men brother, people constantly hurling abuse at stalkers stops us having fun and make us wanna stay away from pvp which has happened to a few people by the sounds of it.
I'm starting to feel the urge to bring Hackitoff out of retirement and turn him into a silent hunter of those with a broadcast message above their heads that leave the metallic taste of Whine.

I know a few people (not many) where its best for all concerned if we just ignore the other one in battle lest it just become a very long and drawn out battle of wills and nothing very productive is achieved. Anyone else find this or is it just me?

I tend to prefer those fights, generally speaking - always good to get the drop on a difficult/tricky opponent. Of course, I will move on if I end up deadlocked with someone after a long period of time and it stops being "challenging" and veers off into "dull".
