For the sake of diversity, I thought I'd add my build into the mix; it's more a beastmaster/mobile artillery character than any sort of tank but it can take an alpha/sustained attacks and keep on going. I opted for Mace Mastery to get access to the Arachnobot Blaster (and keep things nice and thematic), and Shatter Armor - having eschewed any of the Crab melee attacks I found it handy to have something with decent ST damage (and -Res to stack with Venom Grenade). So far as the important Incarnate pools go, I'm working towards Cardiac Core Paragon (end drain was still something of an issue before I picked up Cardiac Boost) and Barrier Core Epiphany - everything else is debatable, but I'd recommend an Interface option with proc damage.

You're missing the point, again - these areas weren't designed for areas of PvE solitude, but that's how they've evolved to be, at least in part. One hero's unused zone is another hero's patch of brooding solitude is another fire meleer's farming paradise - vive la difference. -

Seems like you might need to l2read, as there's a definite subgroup of MMO players who actively enjoy low-traffic zones - as the Massively article goes into great lengths to illustrate, citing a number of examples. From my own experience, I can think of at least one close CoX-buddy who fell into this group. -

The best thing about the farming of MA missions, for me, is the fact that I've not had one single email pestering me about paying money for farming/PL - though most likely unintentionally, by making farming accessible to everyone they've made farming profitable to no-one - except possibly, themselves.
If it keeps the spam out of my inbox, I'm all for it. -

It almost seems like you're complaining a) that the Devs are continuing to undertake development work and b) that the Devs are continuing to support recently-released projects within the game.
You might not be massively fond of MA, but - objectively - wouldn't you be more concerned if they'd just decided to drop it on its [censored] and not invest resources to improving it? -

I'm pretty sure not everyone is an avid badgehunter, and won't just use MA to get badges (except maybe the accolade). I know I've tended (not exclusively, but mostly) to play unrated/little-played missions - with no encouragement needed. Some people will play everything high-rated, some will play undiscovered arcs, some will play farm-style missions only, and some will play without any bias - I don't see the lack of badges (barring Early Bird) for unplayed arcs as much cause for concern. -

In my defence, the forums stopped being amusing long before I stopped posting - when the average number of posts per thread outnumbered the average number of words in it, I knew it was time to bug out. That, and I ran out of entertaining stooges/targets to banter with/mock/rant at. (Silver Weasel, where art thou?)
Plus, in terms of achievements, I didn't think I could top humping Stasis over a table in the middle of a crowded pub in London with Bridger and Rockjaw watching (and FG cheering me on, the sly dog. You gotta know when to quit. -

I miss posting them. I also miss knowing exactly where I could push the border to without getting banhammered, but Bridger left a long time ago and we've been through a big pile of mods since then - and with absolutely no disrespect to the past or current mods, but a big part of the forums died for me on the day that he moved on. After that - as things turned out anyway - I didn't have the time or inclination to really post much anymore (which these days translates to rarely, if at all - forums say it all, last post was Mon Sep 22 2008 08:22 PM). I am duty-bound to poke my head out of the shadows every so often whenever my name gets dug up - if only to remind you that I still exist, and yes, you should lock up your children, egos, and anything else flammable.
