Ok I know the obvious like holds dropping toggles but I see mention of brawl dropping toggles too, I just read somehting baout melee attacks dropping toggles. I can't see any info all in one place about this. Can someone give me some info regarding melee attacks and dropping toggles?

Toggle dropping can sometimes be achived using brawl, but it's unlikely to be very useful in any PvP match. With regards to other toggle dropping powers, the general rule is anything nthat can stun, disorientate or hold will drop your powers. So things like bone smasher or total focus or /eng builds will stun, fire controllers have moves like flashfire that can disorientate and any hold will drop toggles too.

Yes and no. If the person you're trying to toggle drop has mez protection (protection from sleeps/holds/stuns/immobs) then you won't drop their toggle by dropping ONE hold on them. You'll need to stack between 3 and 5 holds on them, and THEN they'll be held.

On melee attacks, only a few blaster secondaries have toggle drops in them. Generally it's 100% to drop one toggle, and then the chance goes down the more toggles they have. Brawl also has a 30% chance to drop one toggle.

There are other powers that'll drop toggles too, but I can't remember what they are at the moment.

Rubbish. Put it on autofire and you'll ruin any non-Granite Tank or toggle based Scrappers day.

NRG, Electric and Fire are the main toggle droppers as far as I know

Specifically (main toggle-dropper emboldened):

Devices - Trip Mine, Time Bomb;
Electricity Manipulation - Charged Brawl, Havoc Punch;
Energy Manipulation - Energy Punch, Bone Smasher;
Fire Manipulation - Fire Sword, Fire Sword Circle;
Ice Manipulation - Frozen Fists, Ice Sword.

IIRC, Trip Mine and Time Bomb have a higher chance to remove secondary and tertiary toggles because of their difficulty to execute in battle.

Other toggle droppers are, I believe:

Force Field - Force Bolt, Repulsion Bomb, Repulsion Field;
Kinetics - Repel;
Storm Summoning - Lightning Storm;
Peacebringer - White Dwarf Strike;
Warshade - Black Dwarf Strike.

Not sure if Storm's Thunder Clap drops toggles or not, but I think that's it for CoH.

Thunderclap and lightning storm are both toggle droppers. The stormset has 2 of them.

Think brawl has a 1 in 3 chance of dropping a toggle. But then fighting at low lvls tanks and scrappers dont ahve many toggles running so its worth a chance.

Bit of a silly reply really, do you think any tank or scrapper is going to stand there long enough for you to land enough hits with brawl to drop all toggles at a 30% chance?

I think its silly that tasser and bean bag dont have toggel droping in them as well might make my AR/Dev blaster a bit better at PvP I might be able to kill a Scrapper then.

Perhaps i'll try to get someone to do it on me later as Sulphur. If it is vaild, i'll withdraw my previous reply

I dropped MaxPowerz toggles earlier with brawl.

last time i checked brawl was 25% to drop one.

villain versions of things like fire sword and bone smasher etc dont drop toggles afaik, cos its a blaster thing.

If thunderclap [in particualr] is a 100/75/25 toggle dropper, does that happen before or after the disorient effect?

ie. can you drop someones status resist and dis them all with one AOE power?.

And is it as efective as a secondary [for controllers] ?

Also which toggles get dropped first . Is it reverse order that you put them up ?

Posted

afaik, the disorient effect (and any other mez effect) checks every "tick" while it lasts, so if you drop a disorient-preventing toggle and any type of dirsorient is currently on that character, it will be disoriented at the next "tick". So it doesn't really matter if the toggledrop is before or after the disorient.

Of course, I could be wrong about this, but that's how I understand it and some limited observations seems to agree with this.

I think the controller versions are as effective in dropping toggles as defender powers.
