Stalkers are more overpowered than anything else!!
Solo? Forget it! A Stalker is designed to kill in a one on one situation - no mess, no fuss. A Tanker can easily stand up to a Stalker, and not be dropped though.
Team-wise? Stick into 2-3 characters running Tactics, or with the IR Goggles Temp Power. The perception boost will enable you to see the Stalker, and disrupt his Assassin attack.
To fend off a Stalker, invest in some PBAoE powers that affect enemies - knockback, repel, damage, slows, etc. are all good choices. Slot for accuracy, as Stalkers get a good deal of AoE Defense to try and mitigate this.

Not if they've got stealth as well. Your best bet is a damage aura that will interrupt the AS.
So much tactics to kill one stalker? Any tactics for killing a blaster? No, just click - attack - win/loose.
Stalkers are way much overpowered if they're impossible to kill one-on-one. Even with a Scrapper which kind off is the same AT.
Stalkers are not impossible to kill one on one. They can do massive front-loaded damage. Then they have 2 choices - stay and fight it out as a sub-par scrapper with controller level hit points (may be possible to kill your target if AS did enough damage and you're quick enough/they're too slow popping a respite) or run away and wait for hide to kick back in (hoping that nobody else spots them in the meantime while they are visible).
This was already brought up on the beta forums when some MM's were complaining about being 1-shotted by stalkers. The devs are looking into it as this shouldn't be possible - current thinking is that if an AS would have 1-shotted you the you will be left with 5-10% hp to give you a fighting chance.
As has already been pointed out there are several tactics for dealing with stalkers. Most importantly, keep bloody moving. If you stand still on your own with no +perception powers running, no insights popped and no damage auras/autohit powers running then quite frankly you are asking for an AS.
Dealing massive damage with AS and the ability to strike from the shadows is what defines the stalker. They don't really have any other tricks up their sleeves (apart from Placate for a get away). So what happens the first time you run into a brute with fully slotted attacks and a full fury bar and he drops you with 2 or 3 hits? Will he have to be nerfed as well because he can kill you? Or a dominator with domination running? Or a controller for that matter? You are a squishy and 1 on 1 you will nearly always lose to a stalker. And probably a brute. And more than likely a controller too.
What about people who have been 1-shotted by blasters using build up/aim/rage insps and snipe? Does that mean you should be nerfed as well?
You could just take this as a learning experience (you didn't get any debt after all) and adjust your tactics accordingly for the next time you enter a PvP zone. Either that or don't PvP. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh but those are your choices.
Here here Nuclea. It really is differcult to AS if someone is moving most of the time. And I don't mean just running in one direction for a long time without a travel power on as it is possible for a stalker to get ahead of you some and time it right and AS you anyway. If you cause a stalker (at least mine) too much trouble, then he will normally move on to another target. I can see people's problem with being AS-ed, but everyone had been told it is a pvp zone, so if you aren't thinking about pvp at a particular time then it doesn't mean someone else is too. People on the whole from my experience really could help themselves more too. Spine scrapper are impossible to AS if they have that spine aura thing on, you would have to wait till it is toggled to move in. Storm and Mud are not nice for a stalker either because their AS will get interupted, even when hovered most of the time I've found with mud. Electrics toggles us off, often leaving a lot of our defenses off and hide untoggled is dangerous in a fight due to the long recharge time. Pop an accuracy after a stalker placates you will reshow him to you too (I think). I don't think stalkers are overpowered (a nice pvp prof non the less), because like Nuclea says they only really have one trick up their sleeve. Where as something like controllers have many and are just as dangerous.

We've got hide, baby. We use our skills as you'd use yours.
You'll notice there are ways to circumvent getting pked. No need to cry NERF!

Did any dev consider this fair? If so, I wanna know what AT than can beat a Stalkers which will 75% of your life before the duell even starts.

You can always have a look at the US-Forums for more information. There are lots of ways to make Stalkers useless.
We're not as IMBA as some make us out to be.
Actually, some people are complaining that Stalkers are UNDERPOWERED.
Well, good news, there's already a plan to nerf AS!
Bad news, don't think it would save you in the situation you describe.
Basically, Cryptic don't want Stalkers to be able to 1-shot other toons, but since this one didn't, it wouldn't have saved you. And since, apparently, Cryptic don't mind if a Stalker can take you in two hits, yes, they do think that what happened was fair.

After the beta I havent seen anyone getting oneshotted without using lots of reds.
I think it is nerfed already.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
Ahem...
Sorry
Listen, we do one thing and we do it very well: we deliver an absolute shedload of frontloaded damage. Thereafter, we usually have to run away; blow hard on us and we fall over, an asthmatic controller could knock us down.
To deliver that damage, we have to be hidden right next to you. This means you can't be running any PBAoE powers, or we unhide. And it had better be the case that nobody drops an AoE in the general vicinity. I also believe - correct me if I'm wrong - most, if not all, AT's have a +perception power to assist in picking us out.
In short, not the easiest state to achieve.
So forgive me, but I am totally underwhelmed by you being 2-shotted by a Stalker. For all the trouble it can be to get you - and then to get away afterwards before your team mates turn the poor bugger into a deep-fried pinata - I figure it's a decent enough tradeoff.

Stealth + Hide makes you completely invisible. Thats one tier one pool power plus the power you get at level one. Thats a teensy weensy bit overpowered...

So you can get it at level 8 then ( no stalker in their right mind would bypass AS at level 6 ) .
The whole AT is about being completely invisible. Hide makes you completely invisible, Hide + Stealth makes you more invisible. Without that ability they are sub par scrappers, worse scrappers that tankers I think.
@Unthing ... Mostly on Union.
But no amount of +Perception will get around stealth, accessible at level 8. I have no problem with Stalkers being able to one or two shot me as long as I have a chance to spot them. Currently, unless they have a bad build, I don't.
Thats not fun.
As I remember it from the beta forums it was Hide + Stealth + multiple applications of Grant Invisibility to put you beyond the perception threshold. I also seem to remember that this was being looked into along with the whole 1-shot business.

Your recollection differs to mine and others. Yes, its more than likely being looked into, but until it gets altered (Which may not be for some time AFAIK) Stalkers have a huge advantage in PvP.

If they can 1 shot you I agree. Can stalker 1 or 2 shot you with your build? A stalker does a 60 brawl index AS with Build Up. A Blaster with Build Up/Aim and a Nova is about 30 brawl index and blaster BI is better than stalker BI. How do you do against Novas?
I just remembered that AS is partly unresistable. So my point isn't valid but I'd like the answer anyway.

Energy Stalkers can, depending on what toggles they knock off. I haven't faced other primary Stalkers as yet, so I'm unsure whether or not they toggledrop.
And remember, Blasters, Controllers and Defenders don't have resists (Well, depending on Primary/Secondary...) so the resistance point is moot.
Stakers have advantage in pvp only if u stand in one place like a piece of meat ready to be butchered or do do not have a team.....we cannot by any chance take against a couple of players or a lonely tank....but if your point is that u do not like stakers adavantage then in pvp blaster should not be allowed to use invis or build up and aim, troller should not be allowed to hold and so on.....every AT has its advantages and it weak points....it is all about to minimize advantages and use weak points....
Just my 2 cents

My view would be a scrapper v stalker fight should go, stalker AS, scrapper is at low hitpoints, after a short time one of them dies, but they should be pretty even, assuming no complicated mez powers like yours. This also assumes that both are running equally good builds.
A stalker should be able to take out a squishy pretty easily.
After all a controller can take anyone out pretty easily.

IIRC, Stealth had its def bonus removed in I6. That being the case, there is little or no reason for a Stalker to take it except for the sole purpose of PvP. And for the record, imo you'd have to be some kind of crazy to take it at 8 - power picks for a Stalker are so tight up to around 20 that it's completely not worth it, especially since Hide is 100% effective against PvE mobs. Not taking Stealth is not a "bad build" - in fact, I'd go so far as to say that taking Stealth at level 8 is a bad build.
EDIT: Just as an addendum: I'm not a huge PvPer in any game, and I don't expect CoH/V to be any different, so how the devs get around this in PvP doesn't really bother me unless it impacts my PvE play. So for the love of God, if people feel the need to whine about Stalker powers, at least suggest boosts in +perception as opposed to another round of nerfs.

Yeah its hide + stealth + multiple Grant Invisibilility makes you impossible to be spoted by other players. Hide and stealth means your just harder to spot so you would need to eat more yellow pills.
Stalkers underpowerd I think not they are perfectly balanced. Its like controlers crying that breack frees need to be nerfed just a bunch of moaning fools that whant to play on god mode 24/7.
In general I have to say CoV ATs perform realy well and are well balanced compared to CoH ATs. Thats actually a good thing, cause in any other MMORPG ive played there were always big Issues with Stealth Chars, them being mostly underpowered in PvE and overpowered in PvP. Here it realy fits well from my perspective.
I mean realy as soon as I read the title and then: ...while figthing my first villain...
uhm sry but enough heard.
1: He was fighting a villain allready so it was a 2vs.1... sure thats unfair. but is it the AT then?
2: How well people are able to adopt to certain situation: One is obviously to rage-quit the game and complain in the forums.
So more from a objective point of view: there are affordable and well designed powers around the stealth itself. On the other hand Stalkers got placate so thats a counter on a reasonable recharge. As always you got powers and tactics. Its all in the game. The funpart now is to get your tactic over that of the other guy, and not just to provide you the power to instant kill the other one. Sure the AS hurts, but be quick pop a green and the stalker 'can' be an easy target when your tactic beats his. So better luck next time.
I fought the first villans ever today in Siren's, but I died before I could even target them. One snook up on me and assassin stroke me then used another attack to finish me off.
