Who has gotten Unbreakable without afk farming

For the first time, I'm pursuing the accolades for my villains.

When I first looked at vill accolades, they seemed a bit daunting (with a few notable exceptions - Demonic and Invader) so I didn't go after them.

Now I'm relooking at them and, on the whole, they don't seem SO bad. With one notable exception - Unbreakable.

The first vill I'm looking to accolade is a Soldier who has always had a Crab build. He's a tough hombre, he has high defenses and, with Tough, good resists. I rolled him as soon as VEATS came out, so he's been around that long (2-ish years?) and I play him a lot. So after 2 years of regular play, I had 1.4M points of damage taken. That's 2 years, regular play, 14% progress to the badge. If my math is right (and it is) that means it would take me over 12 more years, playing the same rate, to get there. Ludicrous. So I began the afk damage farming last night. Whee! Because there's just no other way to get it.

Or is there? I'm just curious if anyone has managed to get this badge through regular game-play. If so, is it because you only play one char. Also, what type of char was it? I can see a Regen based character having a strong advantage for this.

Note - before someone complains this should be in the Badges section, this question is meant for the broader playerbase, not just badgers.

I have CoV day one characters who don't have that badge. But then I gave up too. Not worth it.

I have on Catwhoorg (regen) without farming for it, Im actually pretty close to the next one I think. I'd have to double check the exact progress.

With high defence and high resists you are not goign to take damage at the same rate as I do with him.

Thanks for clarification. That means I only have 6 more years, at the current rate, to get the badge.

Run missions with your defenses and resists turned off, teamed with a Pain Dom character to keep you alive. Should speed up your progress a little.

As an added bonus...you'll get the debt badges faster too!

Edit: For the record, my main is also a Regen scrapper, and I believe he has Unbreakable as well. Only 89,000,000 damage to go for Immortal...woohoo!!!

The day badges came out, my Main (Super Villain, Ill / Emp Controller) got 3 of the Damage Taken badges. Then a couple days (weeks?) later when the "Epic" badges came out, I got the other 3.

Somehow I managed to get all six damage taken badges, but didn't get any more then 3 of the Healing badges. Still haven't.

I'd really like them to fix that bug with extra health and these badges. WP would otherwise be a good set (in regards to the damage taken badges) if not for that.

I have been playing since April of '04, and none of my characters have that badge. And certainly not my VEAT, who I'd like to earn it on for obvious reasons.

Yeah, my 5-week-old, lv48 Regen Scrapper is somewhere around 1.8m damage taken, last I saw.

I got the first 5 without farming on my Fire/Fire tank, don't remember how long that took but I was playing him pretty much every day. For the first 2 1/2 - 3 years I only had 3 characters, but mainly just played the Fire/Fire tank. I did farm the last 2 though.

I got it on a regen scrapper before the issue 5 nerfs I think. That was really the only way you could take that much damage and not just outright die. Now a days its a bit harder due to accolades and powers like HPT. I might go for it again when I get my claws brute going.

i had it on my war mace shield brute.i got it and exalted just before lvl 50.his name was mister awe ,but he got planted so much my wife started calling him turnip.after lvl 50 fully slotted and still being the turnip king he got deleat .now mr awe is a kin and alot tougher

5 years for my Storm/Psy defender to get it with no farming.

Regen. Only way to go. Your whole raison d'etre is to take damage, heal it back, and take more. Everyone else is busy avoiding damage. Wusses! Turning off your awesome defenses isn't going to do any good because you'll get slowed down trying to heal the damage back. (Unless you've always got a healer backing you up - as someone else has already pointed out).

Point for the regens on this one, my friend.

What I ended up doing is something I won't be able to replicate across my other chars, at least not as neatly.

I switched to the 2nd build, which I hadn't leveled up yet. I leveled him to 23, just before the forced VEAT respec at 24 and 3-slotted rest and health, all with lvl 50 SOs. Ran a carny radio, found a strongman minion (even con), cleared out the rest of his spawn and took a knee. He hits me for 700 or so, which I can easily regen while he recharges. I went from 1.4M last night to 4.2M before the server restart. So, another 2-3 afk nights should get the job done.

Other non-VEAT characters won't have the luxury of a disposable (pre-24) 2nd build unfortunately. I'll make do.

My badger got it before I actually decided to hunt badges with him. He's /regen and it was before hitting 50, but I exemped for TF's a lot on the way to 50.

Also, I believe one of my tanks hit 50 with 4 damage badges and 1 debt badge.

Noone has. It is a BS badge that forces people to afk farm to get it....which is stupid.

Hedgefund: You take a lot less damage in the lower levels of the game because you have a lot less HP. So [say] the 1-40 run wouldn't have provided you nearly as much opportunity for injury. I don't know if that cuts you down to 4.5 years or what, but it's something to consider.

A value-neutral data point: Project Helios is my wife's fire/fire brute [lots of heals, lots of opportunities to take damage] and she was getting incredibly annoyed with the lack of progress. I invited her to malefactor and try and help me duo Positron [as an AV] with my level 40-ish stalker. That kicked her about 1% closer to the badge before we finally gave up and went home. That was about 2 hours.

I am going to go with the majority opinion here: that's a pretty bad idea to link to an accolade. On the level of bad as old-school Zookeeper.

IMO, that damage badge should have never been a requirement for an accolade. There is not a single accolade heroside that requires such a long term commitment.

Of course, it's too late to change it now so we villains are just sol.

My main (rad/dark corr) took just over 9 million damage in 3 afk faming sessions while i was at work. Slot rest with a heal SO, then do whatever it takes to be able to get into rest with a single yellow minion near you - Council Force for preference, and have him beat on you while you are resting. If you have a stun or hold, its easy to do, otherwise soft cap your def with insps, then hit rest. while in rest, your resistance is floored, so you take much more damage, but you should be able to regen it back fast enough.
