So, how long did it end up taking?

Which, incidentally, is also the reason why Martial Arts was claimed to be the reason for the lack of long skirts for females for years.

Yep, and I always believed that was true, until one night in Dark Astoria I saw this.

Notice the high kick? Notice how there is no clipping? If he can do that then so can we.

I wonder if Champions Online has long dresses/robes? I'd bet that if they did then we'd get them too, if not then I guess we won't.

First off, the Tsoo guy, whatever kind of Tsoo guy he is, is using a special costume piece made just for the Tsoo that wouldn't have anything to clip through like legs under the robe, etc. Secondly, can you not see how bad the skirt looks all stretched like that?

EDIT: I mean, look at this picture. Is THAT what you'd expect it to look like when you do an axe kick while wearing a long skirt?

That was me...but in my defense:

To me... going through the Dev Digest only for pure information and not for the wonderful amount of fun and silliness would be somewhat like eating a watermelon just for the seeds!

[/ QUOTE ]

And it's the opposite for me. I only look at the dev digest for
stuff relevant to the game in some way. I'd rather not sort
through pointless off-cuff comments, or babble about movies.
Not that I don't think the devs have a right to post such like
anybody else - I just wish they wouldn't get Digest-ed.

Anyone can be funny(unintentionally or not.) If I'm going to go

If you want raw facts and information... Watch for the news and wait for the announcements (I'm certain there are other sites that keep actual news updates on the game as well).

Clicking on a post within the Dev Digest is just checking and seeing what one of the members of the dev team had to say.
I appreciate that and enjoy it.

Hehe... This reminds me of a Peter Sellers comedy album.

One of the tracks is titled, "Peter Sellers sings George Gershwin".

Go listen to the track...

It's him bellowing out the name... "George Gerrrrshwwwiiiiinnnnnn!!"

Anyone that knows him... Probably saw it coming, hehe.

Also now that I know BaBs is a fan... BaBs can we get a school girl giggle emote?

I like the new one too, but it does make me sad that Pumpkinhead Pete doesn't get to turn into a pumpkin anymore :-(

Here's another vote to give us both -- one random, one just the pumpkin.

Yes I know. The devs have said that we're not going to get power customization and long robes/dresses. Both of those things would be far too difficult to add to the game. That's too bad because power customization would really rock!

Incidentally, and this is just to get a jibe in at the people that said a certain new element would never come, would it be possible to have a water splash costume change emote now that it's possible to have body-type changes between costume slots?

Why not just use the /cce command? For instance:

/cce 1 ccspin

This will cause you to switch to your costume in slot 2 (if you have one, and slots are numbered from 0) while doing the spin costume change emote. From what I've seen, costume change emotes system names are the same as their names in the dropdown with spaces taken out and CC at the start. Bind that to a key and you're set.

[/ QUOTE ]oy vey, you are wrong on quite a lot of things, so give me space here. first, while your picture could have been better centered, i knew which guy you were talking about, had you checked what i mentioned, hakama pants look nothing like the second tsoo in the pic, and you are still wrong. hit a tsoo sorcerer and make sure he ragdolls, now note how the legs seperate(or look at the pic the gentleman posted under my post of the tsoo using an axe kick) note that they are not wearing an open "dress" style robe, but a pair of extremely broad pants. this is different than a dress, dresses have only one "leg" that has to conform to the shape of both legs.

next, babs was pretty clear on this a while ago, but we will go through it again, he NEVER SAID that power customization was something we were not going to get, he made a fairly clear post on the very topic because people kept misquoting him, he said it was time consuming and would require a significant amount of work. Im not sure it can really be made any clearer. as for long dresses, jay has mentioned several tiems that he could make long dresses but felt they would look really bad, and its not directly related to martial arts, either, they simply look bad past the knee. so you are attempting to draw a link between something that was time consuming and something that simply looks unacceptable to the art team, and thats simply a weird thing to draw.

so while we can appreciate your ever so witty attempts at irony at the end, your post is pretty much fact free, and you may wish to look into that.

[/ QUOTE ]

While you could argue that these are very broad pants with their crotch at ground level, that's actually a requirement for making things convenient to animate. Tsoo don't HAVE legs under their skirts. All they have are ankle-length feet jabbed into the blob that is their skirt. You're not going to find an open-bottom long skirt in the game, especially in 5-year-old content, simply because it's inconvenient to animate things like that. So, their skirts are closed at the bottom.

Further proof can be found in the Circle of Thorns. They wear what are quite clearly ROBES, both visually and because they're wizards, yet they use the same closed-bottom style of skirt as the Tsoo, only with different shoes. Furthermore, note how Illusionist frilly dresses end - in a flat cap textured with concentric circles of dress slip players. You're not going to find an open-bottom skirt, robe, kimono, tunic or whatever else may end up in a "skirt," therefore the mere fact that the Tsoo skirt is closed-bottom does not directly dictate that this is not a robe. I could be, sure! But that's an artefact of graphic design, not an artistic choice to define the garment.
